This really is an awesome scene. Not many cartoons (nor movies, for that matter) can really capture the frenzy and confusion of a 4-sided fight, and to do so in a way that the audience has no trouble following, yet doesn't appear unrealistically step-by-step, is really impressive. Combine that with the fact that every individual's taking part in a useful way unique to each of them, with no one just being relegated to the sidelines or to generic tasks anyone could accomplish...it's done so well that it looks smooth and easy, but in fact, a fight scene like this takes a lot of talent to pull off. No other superhero cartoon ever pulled off combat so organically and interestingly, not even shows lauded for exactly that, like Justice League or Spectacular Spider-Man.
TheRPGenius yes!!! It’s fantastic. The only thing to add to your comment is the sublime intensity of the music, that string section absolutely goes off
+G White They never explained it in the show, but Jean is Dr Manhattan levels of powerful compared to the rest of the team. Professor X had to limit her powers so she wouldn't hurt anyone or herself. Storm is just as powerful, but has way more self control.
Also showed what happens when one or more leave and the struggles without them. Like the stanley cup champs in hockey with a man down against their division's team nearing making the playoffs.
@@marvelfanatic9535 thank u/exactly. that was my one of my biggest issue with the live fox x-men movies, bc there was to much focus on wolverine i.e the other x-men came off like his boring sidekicks.
+CAM8689 Not really. Characters who are created later generally are better than those who were created 1st. Cable's merely has Cyclops' distinctive "eye glow thing", Jean's power set, and a personality much akin to Wolverine. Not to mention he has high-tech "toys" somewhat like Batman or Punisher & a cybernetic arm like Winter Soldier does. So he was destined to be a bad-ass character. I just hope he gets his own movie soon. I could see it playing out like Terminator meets Matrix meets X-men.
Blackton Obvious! I think it depends most of the xmen characters from the mid 90s and on haven't exactly caught fire with very few exceptions so it depends........I will say Cable on this show though to me seemed like a much better character he also came in at the right time and era termniator was big, anti heroes were big and xmen is kind of angsty group more then other marvel superhero teams so it was a great fit and time.
CAM8689 True. And some have become hugely popular, like Deadpool, who was changed at the right time for a certain generation. But I think Cable had the perfect blend of popular tropes. And Cable lost much of his popularity in comics...but he seems to be making a comeback.
You should see the infamous Stonehenge shot where Apocalypse is standing over her. Yikes! Then again, they did show the White Queen (Emma Frost) in an outfit close to her comic book version (ie lingerie).
This is an awesome fight scene. Except they leave Storm hanging around doing nothing until Cyclops falls off the roof. Well drawn and really tense battle. Go Rogue
I love the part in the first episode that had him when he first shows up. He has that personal mini-theme song and such an awesome tough guy thing going on. Gambit: "Who're you?" "The wild man of Borneo..."
cable said something like this on later scene. "I know about Cyclops and Jean Grey. I still need information about the other X-Men. They're not the wimps I thought they were." he must be a badass mothefucka to ever considered Gambit, Rogue and Storm as wimps
I. Th. X-Men was never good. And I'm saying this without comparing it to the source material. X2 was mediocre but now has the nostalgia filter going for it. This and X-Men are heavily dated. First Class was goddamn amazing, I'll give you that. My only complaint was the terrible effects. The Wolverine? Lol who're you kidding? DOFP was good in parts and just terrible in other parts. Plot holes galore. Deadpool was great the first time people watched. Got old as fast as it got famous. Logan was good except the third act where they almost ruined the entire thing. _(Seriously, how is it even possible to make a third act uninteresting?)_ And if I was comparing any of these to what they *could* have been... Well, at least Marvel might do them justice a couple years from now like they did for Spider-Man. Fingers crossed.
I. Th. Kevin Feige admitted that? Well, he did work on it, why wouldn't he praise it? *Blade* saved the genre, X-Men came in between and then *Spider-Man* revitalised it. You don't think X2 is mediocre but if it were, say, GOTG or The Avengers, you wouldn't mind if anyone called them mediocre. That's just your little studio bias right there. You talk about objectivity and yet expose yourself in every alternate sentence. You lost your credibility when you called the X-Men movies faithful to the comics. Lmao you think Marvel got Spider-Man wrong and Fox got X-Men right? You're *objectively* about both of those. And now, to be fair, because unlike you, I'm neutral and not fanboying over a fucking studio, you did get one thing right about X2. It had great *themes.* Again, you're questioning facts. First Class did have terrible effects. And honestly, that's a very minor complaint, to the point that it means pretty much nothing. That's the definitive X-Men movie and I adore it for being true to it's roots (unlike X2, which you wrongly pointed out). The Wolverine was a dud. A 6/10 on a good day. It was painfully average and that's how it fared. First I'll get this out of the way, I personally liked DOFP but the more I read into it, the more I could pick apart. There were a lot of timeline issues and continuity errors I couldn't overlook. And yet again, you talk out of your ass. "Surpassed every other movie"? Boy if you don't.. The Avengers, First Class, TDKR came out between 2011 and 2014 were all better. And shit, there were three Marvel movies in 2014 itself excluding DOFP out of which two blew it out of the water, namely, The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy. I'll give you Deadpool because both of us have only given our opinions on the film. Logan wasn't praised for it's third act. It was praised for the climactic scene at the *end* of it's third act which was heavily owed to nostalgia and the *actor,* moreso than the character. The movie fell downhill as soon as the mutant children were introduced. And I'll say it again, Logan *was* good. It's just that Marvel fanboys refuse to listen to any criticism for it since these idiots think making a movie somber means an instant Oscar. Marvel fans just wanted to have a claim at saying "Hey look we have a Dark Knight too!" which I think is stupid and turned out to be untrue since Logan isn't the best Marvel film, much less in the same league as TDK. No, I don't say whatever I like. Unlike you, I think, rethink, check and recheck my facts before I type them down and actually clarify the difference between what my opinions are and the rest. And we're back to you talking out of your ass again. X-Men franchise is one of the most successful franchises? Boy check your facts. It doesn't even crack top 10 in both popularity *and* gross. The MCU, for the sake of comparison, is the 4th greatest franchise of all time and the downright largest franchise in history in terms of gross. Am I saying "anything otherwise"? Yeah didn't think so. Spider-Man Homecoming is the second biggest Spider-Man film in terms of gross (and the most profitable) and it's the second *best* Spider-Man movie in terms of the film itself. What you gave me was all opinion. These are the hard facts. Now for my opinion - Again, you are sorely mistaken. Spider-Man can't do anything without Stark tech? THAT WAS THE POINT OF HOMECOMING. Drone sidekick? Yeah he's had that in the comics and animated series as well. In most iterations, he has someone make it for him. Also, Aunt May is 50 in the movie as an aunt should be. Their relationship was organic and the reveal at the end opened the doors to several possibilities with May's character which the other Spider-Man movies haven't dared to explore. Heck, *my* favourite Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man 2, faltered with that very notion. The scene where Aunt May is having a heart to heart with Peter is filled with amazingly written layered dialogue. *But* here's what's wrong with that entire scene - What made it good was the *layered* dialogue alluding to the fact that May knew Peter was Spider-Man. But guess what? She didn't. And that ruined that scene for me. I might've gone off on a tangent on this last part but you know it's true. Also, when you call the MCU as a whole a mere action movie franchise, you're pretty much insulting every single movie *with action in it.* Because MCU, as much as it has been called formulaic by select fanboys, really isn't. If you broaden the base for an action movie enough, all of them are formulaic including The Dark Knight and every single Fox film you happen to love so much. Marvel has gone from origin to redemption to comedy to highschool coming of age to heist to spy espionage to space opera to ensemble to political thriller. That's a fact. There's a reason it's the largest franchise in the world and no amount of your one sided opinionated argument can change that. This is why I want Marvel to do the X-Men justice. And it's pretty much a given the deal has already come through. The legal process will take about two years and Marvel will eventually being the X-Men and the first family home. Throughout your comment, if there's something I noticed, it's that you don't really like the X-Men. The real ones, I mean.
Cable is like the ultimate survivalist and warrior just like Wolverine. They know each other's tactics and fighting skills and perfectly complement each other.
Cable is awesome he's always been one of my favorite X-Men characters. His hand-to-hand combat skills combined with his Weaponry skills, his telekinetic ability, Tactical , enhanced strength & speed make him the ultimate survivalist equaled only by Wolverine
@@adammathers4879 The subject is surviving. Nobody would be surprised if Wolverine was the last surviving mutant. That Omega level stuff don’t mean shit
Interesting how Scott was only trying to halt Cable's attack while Cable, knowing that Scot is his father, shot to KILL him. Future family values. By the way who is Tyler's ( Cable's son) Mother? When did Cable have the time? Would he also be classified as a cyborg or Transhuman ( all of those metallic gadgets in his body)
@@pmccoy5511Tyler was adopted in the comics. Not sure if that is the case in this one. Cable counts as both a Cyborg and Mutant in my book. He has an X-Gene and his powers are still present despite using most of it to prevent the Techno-Organic Virus from totally consuming him.
Question for all you comic nerds out there. How do you think the live action movies are gonna handle Rogue and Capt Marvel? I remember reading Rogues origin story back in the day and it said her durability and resilience, regeneration, flight, strength and even the white stripe in her hair ( though I know the first xmen movie covered this ) were all acquired because Rogue PERMANENTLY drained them from Capt Marvel who if I remember correctly was once called Ms Marvel.
not sure about the hair thing always thought she was born with it like that but maybe instead of carol danvers she can grab another character with a somewhat similar powerset like gladiator super strength, flight, durability etc.....
I love the idea that Storm is just flying around with Scott for like a minute instead of immediately putting him down safely instead of them both smoking the guy, especially that she puts him back on a roof he fell off of.
You'll notice when Cable first teleports onto the scene, he's on the rooftop of the building where the mutants are being quarantined. Then Rogue hits Cable on the same roof. Yet, later, the Blackbird lands on the same rooftop but Cable and Rogue are fighting fighting on the roof across the street.
Cable body slides on top of the building bishop is defending and takes up a sniper position across the street rogue fights him across the street blackbird lands on bishops side of the street
Miss this kind of superhero shows with this kind of action, great action Cable is one of my favorite Marvel characters is tuff and battle tested and has some hella tech and weapons.
Too bad Wolverine is massively nerfed in this show. I mean, everyone takes shots, falls from 30 feet, gets a house smashed on them, etc... Wolverine gets pricked by a plasma thingie once, and he curls up crying like a bitch. Excuse me, isn't he the one who is supposed to be virtually immortal, or at least regenerating quickly? Just checking.
“I’ll take care of Bishop”. hahaha fucking Logan. I reckon who ever plays the next wolverine after Hugh Jackman should base himself of these old cartoons. PURE AGGRESSION ALL THE TIME.
Rarely they show this power from storm her just blasting bolts of lightning from her hands… I like that. Also I like how they make it clear that gambit, cyclops and storm weren’t missing they were just trying to beat him back into a retreat
