Great review. There seems to be a gap between "safety" and "security" products. It would be amazing if one app could allow easy monitoring of the interior and exterior of the home. Love the channel.
I like these, I did think about them a while ago, but now seeing them, I like the size of them, they look professional. It’s ok to hard wire but can be a lot of work, it’s ok if your renovating a house and running wires anyway, but like you say, a lot of work. thanks for this review
These modern devices use lithium batteries and are rated for 10 years anyway. Personally I think it is actually safer for them to not be hardwired. Obviously best of both worlds would be if they were hardwired + battery, but if you were to swap the battery for a DIY hardwire kit, you'd be screwed if there is a fire due to some electrical issue and your fuse box blows or something. 10 years is a long time, even if it lasts only half of that, that's still 5 years.. if it was 1 year or 6 months then I could understand wanting to hardwire them, but personally, at 10 years rated.. its just not worth it
Yes good point a 10 year battery life is more than adequate. I ended up with 3 X-Sence wifi smoke and carbon monoxide 10 year life and they have been very good, very pleased with them
@@lords-electrical I purchased a couple of items after your excellent reviews our Andy👍👍👍. Both were when energy prices and cost of living skyrocketed. The HYSapientia 25L AirFryer and the Ninja Speedi 10 in 1 cooker. I haven’t used the kitchen oven since March of this year 😀x.
I would like to know what happens when the battery is low in one of the alarms. Do they keep beeping till you replace it, or do you get a notification on the phone?
@@janebrown7430 can you silence the low battery warning easily/quickly through the App? We have dogs, and had a bad incident with our legacy smoke detectors that started low-battery-chirping after we had left for work...would love to be able to get alerted & silence low-battery chirps from the app.
yes, when there is a wifi disconnected or power outage, the base station doesn't work. But the smoke alarm will still work (with other interconnected alarms) and sound when it detect the smoke.
