I bought this a few months ago. Though I did like it for the cool factor and the dash cam feature. I didn’t like the lower quality rear camera (compared to the front) (especially if it’s the constant stream to stare at while driving). And I don’t like that you have to constantly refocus your eyes when looking back and forth between the road in front of you and then the rear view. (Doesn’t sounds that bad but I noticed it)

Hey raymond great to see you back thanks a lot for this video just one question will this work with my 2011 Mercedes Benz c300 and my 2010 Subaru legacy. And do you think I will have to do modification to my cars Subaru I'm ok with doing some mod but on my Mercedes I prefer not to drill or cut into to get the mirror on thanks for any feedback you may have.

The Mercedes will be a little difficult since the remote antenna is located in the mirror. You would have to relocate it, similar to what I did on the Mini. It would work on the legacy with a simple change out just like this video. Happy to be back, I have alot of videos coming up 😁

1296 resolution is above, better, sharper images than 1080p. I noticed that in your comment. If your going to use the dash cam as an electrical image rear view mirror get one with rear camera of 1080p or better. The sharper the rear image the better. Lots of these were sold with inferior rear cameras and some came with LEDS to help light up the image. New ones dont need that..

I bought this a couple weeks back, nowhere in the literature does it say what orientation the rear cam has to be in. I was wondering myself, not getting any answers (not researching here :/) I have been fiber glassing my canopy for the last 5 days! She's gonna be nice though :)

I've just fitted a rear dash cam (a different make) and having used it now for a couple of days, the ONLY thing I do not like about it is that you really have to careful using it to reverse because whilst your rear camera shows you a very good view of what is outside, it doesn't show you any part of the inside of your car, so you have no idea of your 'relative' position. First time I used my rear dash cam to reverse, I nearly hit a wall on the side of my car because I couldn't see my rear pillar interior in the dash cam screen (because my camera is stuck to the rear window).

What about when the SD card is full, does it ask for permission for deleting the clips? Or do I have manually take the card out, put it in a PC and delete them?

Loop recording is a normal feature of all dashcams so don't worry about it. They will automatically delete your file in the beginning once the card is full except those marked as locked.

Any 12v source that is triggered would work. Fuse box happens to be the easiest one to tap without too much work

VERY RELEVANT QUESTION: Is there an anti-glare feature by night?? Is it possible to block the reflection of the headlights into the mirror that blinds you by night??

@@ALEXAGON autobrightness is usually there to stop the LCD screen from blinding you. I always though the notion was a bit janky on my work's GPS, I delivered at night and always had it on 100% brightness. But then I had to do an out-of-town run, pitch black roads, and the GPS almost blinded me - I couldn't see a thing.

At 2:03 you stated the backup camera is a 1080p camera. But I think it's only 720p. The front camera is 1296p.

1296 is hight res then 1080 also rear cam is only 720p, ps that is not a diode in the fuse board

I purchased this from Amazon & at first the rear camera had horizontal lines in video. I contacted Auto-box service & they sent a replacement camera. While waiting for rear camera to arrive it changed to very fast flicking like I was shifting into reverse. Of course I was not since in drive. The new camera did the same thing. I moved the rear camera up to the front connector where the cable that travels the length of vehicle plugs in & the image is fine, no flickering. I then thought it was the long cable the runs the length of vehicle. I also installed a rear camera on the rear of my travel trailer. When I disconnect tow vehicle rear camera & connect trailer camera it is fine. I am waiting for Auto-vox service to get back to me. Do you have any experience with this? Thanks in advance

On your truck did tap into your reverse light bulb wire? If you did try relocating the power supply to the trailer hitch reverse wire.

Raymond Urias Yes, I tapped into the reverse light. When I put vehicle into reverse the backup lines appear. I do not understand your 2nd point about the power supply wire to trailer hitch reverse wire. Please explain further. Sorry

@@jameslewis405 some trucks have bulb sensing. This is a low current that is run in pulses to the light to make sure it's not out. This wave pattern can cause problems with the camera which needs a constant steady power supply. Switch the power supply and while you are at it make sure your ground is on a clean location.

It's not. Typically airbag fuse is in the engine bay

Default Driving Mode is showing rear view images, you need manually change to front view by pressing the arrow button if you want

How is it holding up 9 months down the line? I've heard that for a lot of people the camera starts failing around the 3 months mark.

Manually set time and date. It will fight you if the GPS signal is not strong enough

A few things. You should have tested what side of the mini ATM blade fuse the power was coming from. WHY? Because the wire coming from that jerry rigged "add-a-fuse" Should be on that side. If the other accessory the original fuse was meant for, blows the fuse, it will still have power to the camera system. If you have it the wrong way if either of the accessory or the camera causes the fuse to blow, they BOTH go out. You should have just cut that jerry rigged add-a-fuse off and the supplied in-line fuse and added a proper add-a-fuse. WHY? Because if that accessory blows the fuse, You are shit outta luck to replace it. You will have to disconnect the camera, take out the fuse, and use that one until you replace that shit show. Also you should have identified what that original fuse goes to. You don't want something that is critical to overload and have happen what I just mentioned. Choose something that if it blows, it is not something you need to get home safe in the dark. You should have looked into finding where the trailer hitch lights connect to. They often have the reverse light on that harness. They also often have a plug on it for wiring in the trailer harness. If it is not there it might be a plug you can buy. Way better than tapping into that reverse light.
