okay... great module (obviously). but this is a really great demo as well. & when you drop those drums against that little patch at 6:33... oh, my heavens!! lovely stuff. bravo!!
Great video. Until watching this, for as long as I have had Zadar I never noticed the labeled letters next to the knobs.. I have always just pushed the knobs randomly in the menu to find the right letter. I am a moron. They are right there! wtf lol.
Really glad I found this video! You know for the complex modulation part where you're modulating the fm input of another module and also using a Zadar LFO to cycle through envelopes? How did you trigger the Zadar there?
I'm planning to buy this module, but got a question. It seems like a good option for complex envelop generation. How good is it for simple stuff? Just ADSR, AD, is it easy to tweak? In the manual, it seems like you can only tweak things in x (time) and y (amp) axis, which doesn't sound like you can tweak each individual break point. Is there like a third party app to add envelopes etc? Your input would be helpful in making the decision. I like the video quality of your work. Thanks.
Hey thank you for the kind words! There is not a way to add envelopes or banks of envelopes to it unfortunately. It is very quick for simple ad or Adsr envelopes because there is banks of standard envelopes, then ones that get weird and crazy. You are correct you can only warp the x and y axis. With the amount of envelopes included, warping and chaining you should be able to find one you want. This is really way more than just an envelope generator and I find that I use it in almost every patch.
hey thanks for this, a question: when i use shape A1 (attack near or 0 ms) i hear audio clipping no matter what the sound source is. Any clue on why this might be happening? Thanks
Most likely you need to turn down the voltage of the envelope. Try putting it to 5v your vca or whatever your modulating might only take 0-5v. I can’t remember the A1 envelope but if it’s a fast attack that can cause clipping.
cool, thanks for the quick response, i’m always worried about buying digital because i’ve has some effects pedals make those popping sounds, glad it’s not the module, this thing seems really capable and endless, hardcore thinking about getting it
For sure man! I 100 percent feel your pain I had a Erica synths black hole dsp that was so noisy I had to get rid of it. I can’t recommend this module enough it’s an amazing modulator. Super fast with minimal menu diving.
@@Derrick_Evans your videos have me sold for sure. lfo, envelope, vco, self patching. i mean, the only thing better would be making your own waves somehow. but i’m guessing there’s plenty of possibility without that. i figure id get the expander too
@@mr.apartment you know I never even looked into the expander, I forgot about it! Who knows in the future if enough people suggest it you could upload your own envelopes. But in reality with the shaping abilities they give you on the ones provided you can come up with one you need.
