360 will always be the console that defined my teenage years. So many great memories staying up all night playing Bully, Catherine, Red Dead Redemption and Lollipop Chainsaw and then going right to school haha. Wish I could go back sometimes. Great video
The 360 is the console that brought me back from the dead gaming wise. I was in my mid 20's and was barely playing any games anymore, then the 360 came out and hooked me like a fish.
I think the 7th gen will be interesting long term because between remasters and the XB1 backwards compatibility, it’s going to be a fairly small amount of games locked to those consoles, and almost no big series.
Yup I totally agree. Feels like collecting for the 360 can be more of a novelty thing and not necessarily because the games aren't available anywhere else. But for me, the nostalgia is still there and I love having the games physically
Tbh there’s some really good titles either hard stuck or pseudo stuck. Ps5 doesn’t have backwards compatibility so only some titles can still be played on a Xbox one not even sure about the series x. As far as I know games like skate, lollipop chainsaw, naughty bear, and many other non first party titles are only accessible on the 360 or ps3
Love these kind of videos! I mainly collect ps3 (up to 678, been collecting a while lol) but I’ve dove more into 360 lately, especially backwards compatible games. Such a bonus to be able to play them on the series x
Still playing and collecting for the 360 today. My favorite memory is when my teenager self couldn't typically afford the 60 dollar stuff and would instead go for all the hidden gems in the 7.99-24.99 range at GameStop.
super lucky find on that ultimate alliance gold copy, been wanting a copy for forever. Why it's so expensive is because the disk has all of the DLC characters that you can't buy through the 360 marketplace anymore so the only way to get those characters is by owning a gold copy.
Good to know, I figured it was something like that. I was actually wrong in the video and I paid $35 (more than a regular copy of the game) but still a great deal
What a fantastic video, sir! I have been collecting 7th gen in general, and 360 in particular for the last 3 or so years. I have watched the prices on many 360 titles climb, while, as you said, many have remained static. The one constant in my market is the decrease in availability, as more people are holding onto their games than ever before. You are fortunate that your Goodwill still has games, because where I live that is a rare occurrence, as most of their gaming related items are listed on their auction site. Fortunately for me, I was able to build my collection of 400+ titles for the system before the great drought set in here. The collecting hierarchy for 7th gen seems to go Gamecube, then PS3, then 360, but I definitely forsee a time soon coming when we see prices climb for it. You definitely showed off some gems, and that deal you got on Ultimate Alliance Gold was sick!
Thanks so much for watching! It's true that even though there are a ton of Xbox 360 games out there, they're only going to become harder and harder to find
7:13 Nukem Forever is off the hook. It actually has attractive females unlike the majority of everything for the past 5-10 years. Good battles fun gameplay and eye-candy how is anyone against this game?
Yeah I'm sure most people won't agree with my take on that. Gears was far more influential obviously, but Bulletstorm is more fun to go back to for me and has some really fun mechanics
@@collectorjohn9538 Personaly Ive loved every gears game on the 360, 100%ing 1 and 2 and playing plenty of online. On the other hand, I played a few hours of bulletstorm and was very disappointed in it. It was a long time ago, but I remember it being quite repetitive with an un-engaging storyline, it just got boring really quickly. But ehh, to each their own !
Hi I live in England, I've been collecting 360 games for the last 2 years. I found spiderman web of shadows in charity (thrift store) for £5 but it's worth £60 very recently. Love the content by the way also a big fan of og xbox
I sold off my massive Xbox360 collection years ago. Also lost my original Xbox account and had to make a new one, virtually erasing all my X360 era achievements and saved games. I own 100% of my current PC, PS5, and XSX games digitally. I love the convenience of digital games, but i missed the feeling you got opening a new game, reading the box art and booklets. I've recently bought a refurbished X360 due to some games like Forza Motorsport 4 not being backward compatible. Also bought tons of games. I've started buying games I want original hard copies of like the Bungie Halo's. Bought games like Lego LOTR and LOTR Conquest that you can't buy digitally, and many more games that I regret selling. Mabye, it's nostalgia, but I'm having more fun playing and buying games for my X360 than my XSX, PS5, or Switch have given me in years. Still have a list I'm trying to get like NCAA football 2014, Ultimate Alliance Gold edition, and many others. God, I miss the Halo 3, Forza Motorsport 4, and 360 days in general.
I bought a couple of 360's --- just to play some HD-DVD's I have (Warner Bros = ). Now have 16 games --- costing £1 to £1.50. Pity I am crap with controllers .
Yep -- I collect mostly for the 360, because they're cheap, complete-on-disc, and fairly easy to find. To date, I've stuck to games I either owned or rented, back in the day, putting my collection of xbox 360 games to just under 160 games. I typically hit up my half-priced bookstores and gameover gaming stores on the weekend for these. I also buy a lot of PS4 games for the same reasons listed above.
Bully is one of the best games ever. Completed it in lockdown and the xbox 360 version is the best version 100% Plus its backwards compatible with the xbox one/x you can also play it on android/iphone PS2 Version is Good also
If anyones wondering when the xbox 360 store is shutting down, its on the 29th of July 2023. Get all your gamerpics, themes, avatar items and games before they are gone forever. Happy hunting!
John, my names Jacob, I’ve been going to Megamedia and I’m a Milwaukee local as well collecting heavy for Xbox 360 for a few years now - would definitely like to meet up and discuss or show and tell collections. 🤙
I wanted to buy a 360 specifically for Lost Planet Colonies Edition which surprisingly had cross play multiplayer with PC. There is a discord and the game gets online activity over the weekend. There are some active fighting games too like Dead or Alive 4.
Great vid mate, keep them coming. Keep that Marvel Gold edition! I've been trying to get my greasy mitts on it for ages I'd make an offer but the shipping to New Zealand would kill it
Since the xbox 360 store is closing next year and Microsoft has been delisting games. Be prepared after the store shutdown that some of those games will jump in price
Recently snagged a copy of Bully on 360 for $4.50, great game. I didn't care for Ninja Gaiden 3 but Ninja Gaiden 2 is one of the best 360 games if you don't already have it
goodwill sucks these days for game hunting. they pretty much purge all the collectable games to be sold online while the rest of the disposable titles are dispersed onto store shelves. years ago, before these guys had the budget and technology to tag incoming donated games, it was just put on the sales floor by some non gamer retiree employee or volunteer who probably just graded the games by condition. the best bargains on the used game market for me are my few local pawn shops who i can negotiate prices
I'd hold onto it, it's prob one of a small pool of xbox 360 games which will climb noticeably in value as the years pass. While a lot of the games on the system will remain cheap for a long time to come.
I agree with you my man the 360 is the best system in my opinion I have all the other systems X. box 1X box S. PlayStation 3,4But nothing compares to my 360 library Thank you for sharing
Wow, I am so jealous!! I have accidently got into Xbox 360!! So I have been actively looking to beef up my collation!! Also, I really appreciate your channel and love it when you show off the games you get or the nice Halo Original Xbox addition for a steel. I was so mad that I could not find one as cheap as you did. You find some awesome deals!! Keep up the the good work!! Love your channel!
Another great video John! The 360 is a great era for games! I remember going to a 360 after ps2 and was blown away by the graphics lol. With the talk of an all digital future being talking about more and more, what are your thoughts? I’m a physical collector too and I hope it doesn’t happen….
Digital future bums me out but I understand why it's happening. It sucks for Alan Wake 2 specifically because that's a game I would actually buy physically
@@collectorjohn9538 yes! I know I heard about that and it sucks! I guess we can vote with our wallets at times but if the big 3 and game companies decide to keep pushing all digital, not sure what we can do
I actually bought a xbox 360 purely to play Trials Evolution. Being a digital game was wild but I always look back and laugh at the fact I spent like $250 to play a $20 game or whatever. It's so good; opened the doors to playing some other xbox exclusives though.
OG xbox and Xbox 360 are the 2 best systems to collect for... Not to mention the 360 will play most original xbox games... and the xsx will play most of the 360 and a lot of OG games. People can have their gamecube and playstation.
I dont comment alot on here but i found your page/videos i started collecting all xbox stuff about 6 months ago and love watching your videos great Pick up on Ultimate Alliance game i have some hard find one i just pick up saw last week at $30 cib
Wow, is great if can buy in USA, alot different title, i just brought 20unit Xbox 360 for refurbish, another 2 more to go red ring light. Not so easy to repair. From Malaysia
Nice pickups! I would totally keep that last game you got (don't want to spoil the heavy hitter) as this version has the DLC content on the disc which is not available online anymore to download! But if you don't like it and don't think you'll play it, then sure take the money lol! It's one of the 360 grails that I will probably never get as I don't want to pay 120$ minimum for it! I know a lot of people didn't like that Game of Thrones game but I really enjoyed it! But that was during the hype of the TV show and I was a big fan so that might be why! I think that one game that every rpg fan should play and it was exclusive on the 360 (well also on PC) is The Witcher 2! Really good story! Great video and keep up the good work!
Bro the 360 is bomb!!!! And keep going strong bud! I wish I had the courage to make videos and talk about my life! Your awesome bro please more videos!!!!!
Really the only advice is to check Facebook marketplace until you find one, or subscribe to the CRTgaming subreddit and CRT collective Facebook group where people sometimes sell CRTs. Depending on your area it might be really hard or impossible to find one on Facebook marketplace. I would also recommend not buying a CRT on eBay because they are really expensive and will probably get destroyed in shipping
Great pickups and video. My memory of the 360 was everyone else talking about games I had on PlayStation 2 and 3. I got on at a garage sale for $5, 2 years ago, it works, but is loud. I play on my one S, but still prefer PS5. My goodwill charges 4-5 dollars, and rarely gave games on the cases. We don’t have a good game store in our area (Marquette MI)
I am at 563 Xbox 360 games and I am trying to do a complete collection for myself not resale also doing the same for the OG Xbox which I am at 516. So I wanted to let you know that the disc for Marvel UA looks like the regular disc and not the one that comes with the case you have. So I couldn't tell by the angle too well but make sure you find out for sure before you try to resell it.
It was the real disc and I already sold it. Here's the listing with a better pic: www.ebay.com/itm/186104507430?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=QuyoDUzJQGi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=QuyoDUzJQGi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Murdered: Soul Suspect is great btw! You start off the game and see your character get murdered, then play throughout the game as a ghost solving your own murder. But the game really uses the ghost element in the best ways possible, Walking through walls, listening in on people etc. Really takes what could be a cliche and boring premise and makes it something special. Definitely a game that doesn’t get enough love. And the devs just went under a few years ago I believe, so that’s their only real game they ever got to deliver.
Nice! A few more: Witcher 2, Infinite Undiscovery, Deadfall Adventures, Lost Odyssey, Project Sylpheed, Blue Dragon There's also some multiplatform stuff like Wet, Persona 4 Arena, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Enchanted Arms, Eternal Sonata, The Saboteur, Battle Fantasia... Too many games to collect and play 😵💫
This is the great thing about Xbox 360. I recently sold off 90% of my 360 collection, only because if i decided to start collecting again, most games are easy to find for cheap.
I never had an XBOX 360 back in the day and I bought one this year (E model). I like shoot em ups and I had bought a copy of Akai Katana a few years back because it was the only home release, although it finally got rereleased this year. The only other games I have for it are Dodonpachi Resurrection, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and Dreamcast Collection.
Sorry to hear you’ve had a rough week. It always makes my day when I sit down to eat and don’t have to spend any time deciding what to watch because there is a new Collector John video
In 2017 I did research on the cheapest console to collect for based on all the pricecharting data. With cheap meaning having the lowest average complete game price, not loose, not new. The original Xbox was first with the 360 second. Sega Genesis and SNES were the most expensive, with games nearing the 100 dollar mark at that time. Those numbers have changed significantly after the corona pandemic. I haven't redone the numbers, but I doubt the original Xbox is the cheapest now. Nintendo DS was also incredibly cheap in 2017, sitting at number 3 behind the 360, but prices have gone way up. Yesterday I picked up 8 360 games and 2 Xbox One. I talked to the sales person about the shift in stock PS Vita, PSP, Xbox and Xbox 360 are being removed. Not because they don't sell, but because they don't get any new inflows of second-hand stock, and shelf space is expensive. Usually it takes 2 decades for a console to have renewed interest from the generation that played them as a teenager. That's happening with the original Xbox and PS2 right now. It's still a few years of with the 360. But as that renewed interest increases and stock is becoming low, the prices will go up. If you're really into collecting from a financial perspective, which I'm not, no Xbox console will ever be the best choice. That place is always reserved for Nintendo.
I sold my gold edition ult alliance for $10 and passed on reacquiring it a few months ago. Man does that kne hurt now. Sucks I'm a diehard Venom and Doom fan.
I actually bought Marvel Ultimate Alliance Gold Edition way back when it came out and had no idea it jumped in value so much. I've literally had the game for over 10 years on my shelf. It was a nice surprise to hear how valuable it is now though.
Great video John, it's great to see another fellow midwest collector (Michigan here)! Absolutely agree, the Xbox 360 has some amazing gems! Big fan of Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Dark Souls, and even Perfect Dark Zero (mostly due to the bot matches/vehicles).
Hey Bro! I discovered you last night. I was 16 and spent my first ever paycheck on a 360 and 30$ copy of oblivion. This video unearthed all those good times for me. Sub for life you have earned. 😅 P.S. I have struggles too man. Keep up the positivity and know we all have each other 😂🎉❤
Seem like a cool dude. I just subscribed. Yeah xbox 360 is definitely a good one to start off on. SNES NES SEGA SATURN are all way too much and I think they've really hit their peak. But xbox 360 and PS3 are great ones to start. Honestly I think if you hold onto that hold ultimate alliance, it might appreciate another $50 in the next few years. I don't think it's gonna hit Sega Saturn prices like $300+. I would sell it if there's another game you TRULY want lol
I couldnt afford an X BOX 360 back in the day and the games were expensive, picked up an xbox for £30 last month and since them ive had a rule of only buying games that cost between 50p and £2.00, got 205 games so far, imagine how much this would have cost me back in the day, so far ive still havnt spent enough to have bought the console 18 years ago haha, the graphics still look great and the same games cost twice as much on the ps4, anyway cool video man, got some new games to add to my want list. PS SUNN rule, never been to a show where i could feel my heart pounding in my chest.
@@collectorjohn9538 I was one year out of high school for halo 3 launch and stayed up the entire night and saw my friends a year younger than me getting on the bus since my driveway was the pickup location. Rubbed it in their faces so hard.
I’m having a week as well my man. One step at a time. The OG Xbox is what makes me happy when life is lame. I click like on every video bro. Keep it up!
Thanks man! It will get better. Glad you released this video while I’m in Missouri for work. I live in Minnesota and collect in a similar way to you. Would be cool to connect sometime! I have some ideas for videos. Thanks again man
I’ll never forget the 360, so many good games I remember me and my friends playing the skate demo before it came out every morning before middle school then we’d skate to school down the street. Good times. Also halo 3 custom game modes was the ultimate peak of online gaming, you really just had to be there
My favorite 360 memory was around 2008 having LAN parties in my friend's huge, finished basement with like 20 people. It's amazing how so many great memories from our youth involve video games
Great finds as always John, Quality games there for $2. I'd say sell MUA Gold, if you're not attached to it, and repurpose those funds into a stack you want. Great snag on AC 4, though!
The whole point was that I tend to find underpriced 360 games more often than other consoles, and I found Ultimate Alliance Gold for waaay under market value
@collectorjohn9538 ya I shoulda clarified if you were wearing the shirt for the band or for the amplifier company :P it's like a band naming themselves Gibson or Fender or Yamaha :P
I’m with you man 360 all the way! I’m currently grabbing all the 360 games for my collection before prices go up. Lucky for us everyone wants the stupid gamecube
