Xbox Kinect Evolution - Xbox 360, Xbox One (2006-2019) 

Microsoft if you’re listening make a Kinect for The XBOX Series X. I loved the voice commands and instant on not to mention the games for Kinect was super FUN! I think that’s one of the things that made the 360 different and great. The Kinect is quite amazing actually.

To me the Kinect was awesome thing. I first tried the Kinect at a friend’s birthday on her Xbox 360. And the only game she had was the Kinect game or something I forgot what it was but I through it was amazing. That Christmas my brother got the new Xbox 360 S with the Kinect for college but I knew the Kinect wouldn’t work in such a small dorm so me and my sister bought it from him and I had a blast. It came with the Kinect game the same one I played at my friend’s house. And later on I did buy Kinect sports and Kinect sports season 2 and bought Kinect Star Wars. And tbh I had blast, yes there were times the deal wouldn’t work it just have a hard time censoring me. But I still loved it. Eventually sell it cause i started to get tired of it and because the 360 was still popular at the time I knew I could sell just the Kinect. I loved it because the technology of it surprised me and I had so many good memories of it.

I enjoyed the Kinect with my 360. Loved playing “Kinect Sports”. Me and my friends would play boxing and bowling a lot. Didn’t have as much fun with the new Kinect though. It stays unplugged

Only reason I bought a gaming console (Xbox 360) was the Kinect and it's Dance games. I still use it. However subsequent versions did not add anything more compelling to make me upgrade. I am glad Xbox is investing in the platform.

I really like the Kinect. It is a good mic if you are in your own room with the door closed so the other people can't slightly hear people downstairs. I use It for twitch a lot and it's a good mic-camera combo.

10 years ago I played the skiing game with Kinect and at some point my heart rate was up and palms sweaty. I don’t get into games but that experience was worthwhile. I can imagine it not working so well in so many other situations- but that use case makes me want to re-experience it.

I liked not having to wear a headset while playing online. And skyping w my cousin on new years on a 65” tv while she lived out of state was like having her there. The camera picked up everybody and we all got to talk to her. It was like having her there. Really it was an awesome experience

Okay, turning the Xbox on with my voice was awesome. I did Nike workouts, controlled Netflix with voice commands, activated the DVR with my voice. I enjoyed the Kinect immensely. I still remember making KI videos for upload studio. Now the version with HoloLens is eminently awesome. It's almost literally the hologram table from Iron Man. Imagine calling all a full screen web browser and virtual keyboard wherever you are. Building with 3d models. Exploring Mars in your living room. And it's not a consumer product.

Now in 2019 well the graphics of course could be better ... but it´s still fun to play kinect sports. The good thing is that you do a lot of movements while having fun! ... while you don´t need to wear anything. No VR headset etc. and still good fun to do! :)

Kinect had its flaws but people sometimes take for granted the technology behind it. You are literally controlling a game on a screen without any controllers, just the movement of your body, i loved kinect and i was always amazed by the technology. Cheers.

I'd say dance central was the highlight of kinect. Its a game well thought out with choreograph and not making you look silly nor was it kiddy like that stupid as skittles shit. Ms even went as far as making dc series exclusive and licensed and published the game on xbox. If only they put in more production work maybe make dance central like step up with a story staged script and character development. Plus add an online multiplayer mode for scoreboard race and a build your own dance move mode

It's such a shame that people didn't appreciate the kinect back then. I never enjoyed playing games with a normal controller but with the kinect? I could play for hours especially Just Dance, Dance Central and the kinect adventures. Playing the new JD games on Nintendo Switch with the joycons isn't the same. And playing with phone is even worse. I still hope that one day the Kinect will come back.

To be honest Xbox 360 kinect is my favourite because it makes me feel like I'm still a kid. When my school is over I go to home and play Kinect Sports when I was a child.

To be honest really love the Xbox 360 kinect, I hope Microsoft they will revive it and make it more even better, with great specifications of the hardware like the processor of the gaming chip, the video card, the higher Ram, better kinect sensor that can track effectively and better microphone either the microphone can be attached to a bluetooth earbuds with noise cancelling and better and effective cooling system, and they should improve the gaming experience like more games to choose and more connectivity on the internet plus we can use the game online and offline. And also they should add that it can download more apps on it like what Google android Smart phone. Or they should partner Android Google for more apps to download. Please Microsoft if your listening please make the come back of the Microsoft xbox 360 kinect a jaw dropping experience for everyone. And lastly please Microsoft be consistent on the overall improvement of the all aspect of the Xbox 360 kinect. But moving forward since the start of the pandemic I use my Xbox 360 kinect in playing Dance Central and kinect sports season 1 and 2 for exercise and honestly is still fun to do it even if it's classic but worth of time to spend and it brings back good memories. We should start a petition for Microsoft to bring back Kinect with Series X. Kinect 3.0. Now with the Coronavirus all kids are staying at home, and they probably will stay at home for another year. I've already connected my Xbox360 with Kinect 1 and my daughter is playing my old games, and she's loving those games. It's not like she can go out and play any real games, Kinect is THE ONLY solution for a kid to be fit while staying at home and doing the "social distancing" thing. Well, not the only solution, Wii was the original, but we don't want kids to handle 2 controllers and break our TVs, do we?

Well, I was a die hard PC gamer and only because of kinect i bought xbox 360. i converted to console gaming after playing halo 4. I still have Xbox 360 with Kinect + Xbox one X with kinect v2, my kid plays on both consoles dance games. Just today i bought Blue Estate game for xb1 kinect. So my console gaming started with Kinect and i play almost every day on ps5 or Xbox SX.

I'm right there with you Mike K. Totally enjoyed it with the 360 for sports and fitness games. I personally was disappointed to see the very limited games in those areas come to an end. The One version was just horrible. The thing is, unlike workouts, exercise, and like the boxing-kickboxing-etc which require lower frame rates, other games (minus a handful) all failed because the gameplay required a faster controller response than the kinect could keep up with. They should have kept it limited to just sports, and games like harry potter, disney, etc.. The kinect could really be an entire stand alone suite for fitness if Xbox actually took the time to make it right. (And had devs wanting to be a part of that market) The One version was a huge useless brick, literally. The size itself is a turn off. Then to not perform right, and not half as well as the previous model, just made it double flop.

If they couldve integrated it better and made the gameplay functionality a little smoother they woulda really had something because the concept is cool as shit to me. The thought of gaming with no controller is just great as long as its done right and in 2021 or 22 i could see a new company trying something like this where its a console with a sensor like that and theres no controller even made for it

Kinect has amazing capabilities but console especially for its price. gaming was not one of its greatest applications except for vr and its body tacking. In sad to see it be discontinued because of its untapped potential. I use mine for vr and even scanning objects for 3d printing. Almost want another one.

I have an Xbox one and bought that device separately bc my kids wanted to play fruit ninja as it was displayed in the Microsoft store and we use it to play just dance over the years. We really like it. But I’m not a gamer, I did buy a Nintendo wii and never used it. If they had more games I would consider upgrades but they even removed the Microsoft store so now I’m not interested in anything windows related.

To say that the kinect was a huge part of the xbox one's flavor is a massive mistake. Always online, and requireing trading your game code to a friend if he wanted to borrow a physical game you purchased, only to have the code you sent not be able to be sent back meaning your friend would own that game he borrowed. Yeah kinect sucked, I had one for my 360 and it was nor great, but what really killed xbox one was over jealous lust for control over the DRM'S
