Thanks for this! Great video, excellent description of everything that was going on. I struggled with the particular USB adapters I have for some reason (both wouldn't show up in the Disk Manager at the same time, on two different computers,) and ended up having to connect the target drive straight to the SATA bus on my desktop. Once the drives populated the Disk Manager, your script worked great. Original Xbox One 500GB to 2TB hybrid drive.

Awesome Video! I have an Xbox One X and I used this video to upgrade the drive to a Crucial MX500 1TB SSD. I followed this video to the "T" and selected the Standard 1TB upgrade option when prompted in PowerShell. Oh, be sure to run Windows PowerShell as an Administrator (as mentioned in the video). When I was done it booted up with no errors. Games launch and run much faster especially Destiny 2 & Call of Duty WWII. Thanks XFIX for taking the time to make this awesome video!

Thank you for this tutorial! It still works perfectly in late-2022. The 500gb HDD on my original XB1 started to chatter, so I knew I didn't have much time before it went out. I did the direct copy onto a 2tb SSD drive and it booted right up with zero issues. The only problem that I had was that it kept getting an error when trying to copy games from the source drive onto the new one. I just popped the old drive back into my XB1, transferred all the games onto an external, deleted them from the HDD, and ran the scripts again - no errors this time. I then copied the games from the external onto the new SSD and all the games work great. Thanks again for taking the time to put this all together!

Many thanks for this video guide. I successfully repasted my CPU & upgraded to a 2TB hard drive using your software tool. It went smooth as butter. The copying took the longest, around 8 hours. Probably because one of my hard disk caddies was USB 2.0. Once I switched the XBox One X back on, it worked perfectly. All data, settings, games were still there as before + the extra disk space :)

Amazing tutorial. I can't speak highly enough of this video. I did this process yesterday and it worked like a charm apart from one small hiccup which was very easy to fix. At 26:15, instead of having the file paths H, I, J, K, L, for some reason mine was H, I, J, K, X. I simply changed the X file path letter in disk management to L then ran the "Fix GUID values" command again and it worked beautifully. Once again thank you for this great tutorial

Thanks very much for this excellent video! Year 2020 Dec with the latest update of XBox One installed before the clone, your script works perfectly! A small reminder: the first time I run it, I have a USB card reader attached and it somehow broke the drive letters assignment, so one out of the five partitions wasn't copied. In my case, removing that USD device enabled all the 10 drive letters to be mapped in a sequence. The second run of the script nailed it :>

Commenting as of May 31st 2020! I followed this tutorial to the exact letter and instruction. Every step. Precisely. No mistakes. It's been TWO WEEKS since I did this and I'm commenting now to give my sincere thanks and gratitude to this amazing dude. AND IT WORKED! I swapped my 1TB HDD to a SanDisk 1TB SSD internally. The copying took an hour (It was copying COD Modern Warfare so go figure haha). Console booted up NO ISSUES. There was zero difference, it worked PERFECTLY. The console is now very speedy and the performance upgrade in noticeable. Just from booting up Warzone I could tell the difference. Just make sure you leave the XBOX PREVIEW PROGRAM, just in case! Aside from that, this tutorial and the script (Which was so bloody satisfying to use by the way and BEAUTIFULLY designed!) are perfect as long as you follow this guys instructions EXACTLY. Thanks dude! Can't wait to see what you tinker with when the Series X gets released! Thanks again!!

Using the script 9.0 in June 2020. I upgraded my XBOX One from the original 500gb to an 2tb firecuda sshd. Just follow this tutorial EXACTLY and you will be fine. I actually came across something strange during the process I wanted te note. After the last step where you fix the GUID values, the script showed that de D (duplicate) had not yet been removed from the "Temp Content" partition. It still was showing "DTemp Content" while the rest of the partition seem to be correct(User content, System Support etc.) I ran the script again and repeated the fix GUID values step. After this second time everything seems to be correct. Turnt on the xbox and everything seems fine. So no big deal, just keep an eye on this. Massive thank you sir XFiX!! You did an outstanding job!

My computer decided to be a pain in the backside with this process by using different drive lettering when I formatted the new drive, and I had to actually format each drive partition manually, give it the proper name and proper letter, but fortunately I was able to see on the drive manager what was going on, and put it right manually. After all that was sorted, just copied the stuff over and did the final steps, and now I have a lovely big 2TB internal hard drive in my original 500gb XBOne S, and the console is working like it always has, but showing that larger drive as if it were always in there. I took advantage of taking the console apart to change the thermal paste, which was more like cement on the console, so now it has some lovely Arctic MX-4!! Thanks for the fantastic video, it made everything very easy to do, even to see what was going on in my particular case, knowing what it should be at each step and allowing me to take the extra steps to make it so. Will you be making a video about internal XBox 360 drives?

I cloned my HDD to SSD using Sabrent's standalone disc cloning device. Only cost $32 on Amazon. Worked perfectly and didn't even need to plug anything into a computer. Put my Xbox together with the SSD and immediately noticed a big difference in load speed and gameplay. Altogether, taking apart and putting back together the Xbox One X took about 10 minutes. Cloning the 1TB HDD to SSD took about 3 hours. During that time, I went and did other things to make money.

Using the "version 9" script here in April 2020. I encountered a 'gotcha', which is covered in some other videos like ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tUisAJjfGz0.html -- where you have to A) manually replace the contents of the 'System Update' partition, and B) create the OSU1 system-update USB stick. Essentially I had to let the XBox do an offline-system-update in order for it to fully recognize the replaced hard drive (despite the fact that the partitions and GUIDs were correctly set by the command-scripts, thank you 100x for that sir XFiX!). So again, even though these instructions are amazing, there's the extra steps of manually replacing the System Update partition files & making the OSU1 "system update" USB stick, and then booting up the XBox in what some call "maintenance mode" to force it thru a system-update. At least for me. Hope it helps future viewers & hackers. GLHF! And thank you again XFiX for an amazing tool, you rock.

Thank you! Xbox 360 hard drives are a very different animal. The partitions and data are only readable with a tool called Xplorer360 and you use a tool called hddhackr to create the disk. I've been wanting to make a video about this for years.

My Xbox is having an error updating offline with the USB zip file ntfs. I called mycrosoft support and they said it's a hard drive error and I asked them what should I do, they said to replace the hard drive 😑

Must say, this worked for me perfectly, even all these years later. I was trying to use the newer "simply" version with the Offline Update. But my console is in preview mode so the OSU files online didn't work. The HDD was still working but starting to grind.

FYI, I used the "(f) Autosize Non-Standard w/ 2TB Disk GUID" option when copying data from a 500GB HDD directly to a 2TB HDD and was able to reclaim the 101.02GB of unallocated space that would have been left at the end of the drive if I had used the "(c) 2TB Standard" option.

its safe do this? I mean that options is for the non-standard :s.. there be a reason for that, right?

Hi! Thank you for your videos. I didn´t know where to ask. Do you know if there´s a way to partition a HDD (external) for using it with both Xbox and PC? (Ex: 3 TB for Xbox and 1TB for FAT/NTFS partition). Thank you!

Strangely my System update partition on the target drive does seem to appear at all in dsk management but appears in This PC when I look at the drives and then the copy process fails at the last step telling me system update is missing... Any clues as to where I might be going wrong? EDIT: I did manage to get the box to start after manually copying the udpate files to A/B folders to the drive and bootanim but I had to back out of the error in the pwrshell and start the bat again to edit the drive letters/partitions however while the box was then able to boot none of my existing games launched and my profile was no longer on the xbox so I would still like to see what the solution is.

I use Macrium reflect to clone my main Windows 10 PC SSD over to an identical SSD once a week so I have a bootable backup of my windows 10 desktop. Can't Macrium Reflect clone the stock Xbox one X hard drive over to a new SSD?

great tutorial. I have a question, recently I changed the 1tb hd from the xbox one x to a 500gb ssd hd. after that i received an update and i get the error E102. The question is, in this case I can’t make updates anymore? because why the size is different from the original that comes in X?

So what I understand about the partition layout is: when I have a new 2TB Samsung SSD I should choose "c" (1663GB) instead of the autosize option "f" (1947 GB). With "f" I will have more space until I reset the Xbox one to it's factory settings. Then the Xbox one operating system will reset the space from 1947GB to 1663GB. Because 1663GB is the "standard" size for a 2TB drive. Is this correct?

Is it possible to inject Xbox Original UDATA saves into the Xbox One internal HDD file system like you were able to on the 360?

Question? I did this using an xbox that somehow is enrolled to the Xbox Insider Program, none of the accounts on the xbox have insider enabled or anything, but somehow the Xbox SO version corresponds to an insider version, but If it try to install a "fresh" drive the OSU file update process fails as the current version of the xbox is newer than the OSU version (public one), and the original Xbox driver died (tried this guide but the original drive keeps failing or just completely stops working). Anyway, is there a way to get the OSU for insider version of the xbox or revert back the Xbox to a non insider version (public one) so I can use the public OSU file to update so I can install a fresh drive?
