I'm so excited for Backwards Compatibility for the original Xbox games; I have over 150 games for it. I hope Sega will revive servers for Phantasy Star Online, but I would have no way to transfer my saved data over to the Xbox One.

Many indie games that Microsoft showed looked really good. I didn't need AAA games. Of course, people interested in the Xbox One X would have probably wanted some big AAA exclusives. But for me, this was a good conference.

Gotta hand it to Microsoft for how they're handling backwards compatibility. I saw a lot of people give some companies flack for remakes or remasters but being able to play old games while at the same time moving forward with the new ones is a valid concern in this industry. As time passes and consoles are discontinued, it becomes increasingly hard to find and play certain titles so it's good that at least some are being kept alive.

Microsoft's conference from a PC gamer standpoint is basically telling me...yeah no reason to buy the console since the games are coming to PC anyway except maybe 1-2 titles. Just sucks have to upgrade to Windows 10.

I think it would be awesome if they did XBox disc re-releases so that people could use the backward compatibility to its full potential. Including games that are really hard to find these days. Stubbs the Zombie, anyone?

One thing that not a lot of people know is that the late PS3 models actually were backwards compatible with PS1 disks.

I agree with Alpha on what it means to be a gamer, just play games and have fun. I tend to get every console during a generation. The only thing that changes is the order I buy them which is based on which console has more exclusives that I want to play first.

the thing is, you can't build a PC that can run games at that quality, at 4k, and at 60 fps for anywhere near $500. It makes that kind of gaming an option for a lot more people.

The analogy between new cars and new consoles every year has one potential flaw: when a new car model comes out, older cars don't suddenly stop being supported by mechanics or able to use the existing gas stations. Nor do roads built after the car's release support only cars built after that date. As long as console developers keep backwards compatibility in mind and don't use it as an excuse to cut off support for older consoles (at least the last 5-6 years' worth) then it's not a problem. But if they expect us to buy new consoles and new games/controllers/etc even every three years, let alone every year, then I am pretty sure I am not the only one who will be flipping them the bird while saying "bite me". And I am one of the people who would be least affected, since I am firmly in the PCMR but I still like having a console for watching movies on bluray disc and playing the occasional console game. :D

Up until you mentioned it, I never considered the idea of Xbox1/PS4 being the final generation of console games, but now that I think about it you might be right. We are at a point in gaming where graphics are higher definition then real life and capable of rendering as many sprites in an area then there are people in a mall. Playstation 4 has enough storage space for Atlus to create a game that can have an over 100 hour story game (Persona 5) and fit all of it onto a single disc. How do video games improve technologically beyond this point?

Glad I've been collecting original Xbox games for awhile! My dream has come true... I wonder if this means the original halo and halo 2 may get some multiplayer options... You should just say that should happen so Microsoft will hear you.

The backwards compatebility and Forza 7 sold me on this Console. The $400 price was less then i feared.

When you look back when the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 were originally released in 2005-2006, not many people owned a HD TV, let alone a Full HD. Sony and Microsoft are actually doing a smart move by releasing 4K hardware before it become more "popular" because the people who can afford it right now of course will pursache it but others who will wait and buy it later you get it cheaper and with a lot more 4K content already released.

Agree with everything said, I was hoping for maybe $450 for the One X but $500 is still plenty fair for the insane performance that you're gonna get. I'm okay with a lack of true exclusives given the fact that this console will run any game at higher resolutions and performance settings than any other current consoles. You're paying for that performance, not necessarily for the exclusives. Given that many of Xbox One games actually run at 720p and the fact that the One X will already play all of those games with increased performance and (I hope) resolution I think it's worth the upgrade if it has the games you want.

If you compare Microsoft now to back in E3 2013, it feels like two completely different companies They rocked this year and I'm glad I play on both Xbox and PlayStation (Nintendo and PC too)

$499 is a fair price, shame not much exclusives but the XBOX compatibility was the best part.
