Omg!! It worked. I had no idea that pushing the on and off button on the front of the console was different than unplugging it. silly me thought that it would be the same results however it does make a difference my Xbox would not connect to the Internet until I did this step thank you so much

Thank you so much for this! I went onto the actual Xbox help website and it asked “do any networks show up?” Or something along those lines and I clicked no bc ya know t h eres nothing and then it’s like “sorry can’t help on your on lol”
Zerkifys Yes, My Xbox would not connect - Even though I ran the network tests and setups - It says I was connect to my network in settings but when I went to “Sign In” I would get a message saying “I need internet for this” I just did what the video say. Held the power button for 10 seconds while it was on- it shut down and I powered it back on- problem solved for me!

There is no need for holding down the power button. I think it's the restarting fixes the issue. I have had this issue since day one and every time it happens I just restart my Xbox one x and it fixes itself.
Mine is doing the same but im plugged in with an Ethernet cable. We have two xbox ones in the house and the other one is working perfectly on wifi. So i know my internet service is good. My xbox has been stuck on the signing you in screen for 10min now. This is the second time in 1 month it does this. Im going to buy a brand new cable and see but i doubt that the cable is bad. Edit: im back online with the same Ethernet cable. All i did was unplugged my xbox from the power and now it decided to work again. I looked to see if i needed an update and it said everything was up to date. So im not sure whats wrong with my xbox
Francisco Razo this happens to me too, does the Ethernet cable work sometimes because mine will work on occasion but most of the time it wont and then i have to use WiFi
I have had the S and the X and I have had no problems I guess they fixed all the Day One problems because I’ve had my X a couple months and before that I had the S for about a year or so. No problems like you see from the early days.
Worked for me! The wifi list showed up again I just had to put my password in again. Fucking annoying but I'm back online now. Paid too much money to have to keep putting my wifi password in over hope it doesn't happen again

Idk if anyone will reply but I need help. I have an issue with my Xbox one x where I’ll be in the middle of a game... any game and it will disconnect me from the game and it will say something like, I was disconnected, that I need Xbox live, something went wrong with my internet but all those things are fine. I bought a new Ethernet cable and my internet is fine, I have a year of Xbox live so I’m very confused as to what the problem could be.
I'm having a similar issue but I well have Internet connection but after five minutes of playing cod with my friends in a party it well disconnect and take five to ten minutes to reconnect and while its disconnected it well kick me out of cod and the party I've tried the soft reset but it keeps doing the same thing... Any suggestions?
I just got an xbox one and its connected online then the next day. I get up to play red dead redemption and its not online at all and i cant connect to online.
