My advice. If heat is a concern, I have a small ac unit called Arctic Chill. 30 bucks from rite aid. It keeps the air around it cool, if it’s hot I turn it on and it keeps my system nice and cool
That's horrible advice. Artic chill puts moisture in the air ( you fill with water) that's like blowing a mini swamp cooler into your Xbox Electronics don't mix well with moisture. That will destroy it's lifespan
People that complain about the using of external fan, they forgot that some people live in tropical climate place with pretty hot temperature 😅 Sometimes not everyone does have any AC in their room, but I prefer to use external fan from bottom and make it stand in vertical. That black circle is the core of the airflow, if we block it directly, even by using fan absorber, it will ruin the air flow, but if we put another type of fan in the bottom of the XBOX, and stand it vertically, we won't ruin the airflow, as the flow will go to the top and to the core through that black circle. I have 3 types of fan, this one, a type for the bottom, and another one for the top. But I won't recommend this one, as it will block the core of the airflow.
Better just use the bottom one bruh, we can't block the top one, and the side one from the black circle, they developed airflow for years with knowledge and experience, while we only try to solve the problem with basic knowledge haha, so just use the bottom one with low ~ medium speed, don't use "high" as it will ruin the component and the airf low@@Fleekable
If anyone buys this cooling fan , I recommend that you do not plug into the Xbox and that you plug it into wall outlet, in the past all cooling fans that plugged into the usb of the Xbox system cause the system to burn out/broke the Xbox
the fan it has works just fine it needs a fan to pull air in these not much air that goes in the system thats wat they need to make. they really just made this in hopes to trick people
Only complaint I have is when I put it into the highest setting the blades scrape and make a weird noise. Normally I just tap it a few times and it goes away but sometimes it persists. Any suggestions on what I should do to fix that?
I just use a small usb fan that sits on top of my game conosles and it blows the hot air out in front of the tv consloe i recommned not to have fans that blow air towards the unit because this pull in dust
The top is the exhaust, so does that help the exhaust suck hot air out of the system or does it try to blow air against the exhaust and negate the exhaust cooling effect?
People saying this is useless. It's not. If your internal fan broke, and you don't want to go all "MacGyver" and take apart and replace the fan, this is a good band-aid.
The fan in these will literally run for the longest as long as you give the damn console proper space and dust it regularly. These fans have always been super useless and a way to take money from idiots
@@dylansandoval9841 I have 2 series s consoles. The one I bought Directly from Microsoft is the one the fan went out in. Had nothing to do with dust or space. Just bad hardware. The external fan does the job though.
@@Bijimaru_69 I built my PC, yes I know how computers work. The system boots. As it run's it'll shut down with overheating message upon reboot. MacGyver is not the only solution. I put this external fan over the broken top fan, and it no longer overheats. Solution found. Band-aid method. I'm just to lazy to take apart the xbox, as i'm sure others who bought this is as well.
I went to the official xbox forums for answers about using external fans to help pull hot ari out and pull in cool air and this is what i was told//// Please take any additional fans off of the console, they do nothing to help it. A game console has years of work designing the airflow inside of it for maximum efficiency, adding additional fans can disrupt the static pressure inside and hinder, not help. The best case scenario is that it does nothing. Using them can, and has in the past voided warranties.
Yeah you're a silver spoon licker for sure Do you think the console manufacturers would do anything to tell you the thing was not designed for planned obsolescnece? The PRIUS had overheating battery packs that caused them to fail from 2010 to 2015. Simply turning on the fan once in a while really helps keep electronics cool, but it annoys people. No, the box is NOT engineered to be OK being hot. EVERY THING IN EXISTENCE, ESPECIALLY SILICON CHIPS are subject to the laws of entropy. Argument closed.
It may void the warranty but they do help. Last week my Xbox started overheating every time I tried to launch a game. It's out of Warranty because I had it since 2021. I took it apart and cleaned it but that didn't help. I stood the Xbox up and that didn't help either. I stood the Xbox up on a cheap portable fan from Walmart and its been fine since. This system overheating is a super common issue because they obviously needed to spend a little more time researching airflow if this is what years of design produces.
Supposedly these are great for if you in a small apartment room or dorm room I’m in a small ass apartment and my room small so my room be getting to 80-90 degrees and my Xbox is the source all I play is Warzone type shit so hopefully this helps
It's supposed to be hot there as that's where all the heatt gets released from there it's designed that way all the heat is discharged from there just make sure the Xbox has space all around it
That’s what I’m saying, they made a product for something that is literally meant to get hot, if u feel the sides of the Xbox you’ll notice it stays pretty cool.
Really cuz my uh black circle vent is hot as shit. The top is hot as shit. And it smells like burnt plastic almost. Now it’s cooled down I’m afraid to mess with it again. So I bought a fan to keep it cool and it does nothing.
I really don't want to have to say this about the fan but it's not good I loved it at first and when I first got it it worked so well but one day IT GOT STUCK ON ITS SELF AND RIPPED ITSELF APART! I'm very disappointed but I don't want to be...😢
Microsoft recommends not using a cooling fan they said it could make it worse. Plus that cooling fan needs atleast a 3-5 degree differential. That would be annoying to hear it turn on and off constantly.
@@jwrslcr60r22does your series s kick you out of the game and bring you back to the home screen too? Mine has been doing it non stop lately , even did a factory reset. Mine is out in the open with no air flow blockages or anything. I really don't get it but it's annoying af makes me want to sell this pos.
@slattSlatt13 Yeah, mind did that when it got to 91. It would stay there, but after a while. The game would cut out, and i would have to restart the game. Luckily, not the console. My Xbox Series X that i upgraded two, i don't even push it after 90, maybe 5 or 7 hours, i turn it off. Because it will eject the game, after 100 degrees. I thought Xbox fixed their cooling / airflow, but clearly not. This is why i have Playstation Products i want to dip, in to the Steam Deck world. Like the Playstation / Nintendo / Xbox world, but one step at a time.
It is better not to install an external cooling fan, let alone keep the internal heat from escaping! On the contrary, if the wind is sent inside, the wind cannot be discharged, and the heat of the cooling fan that is originally attached to the XBOX cannot escape, increasing the internal temperature and shortening the life. The fan inside is trying to release the heat to the outside, but the winds collide with each other and have the opposite effect! If you use an external fan, it is better to put the XBOX main unit horizontally and put it under it!
Quote me if Im wrong but wouldn’t magnetic 🧲 harm the console long term such as components inside the shell especially.. Just trying to look out for my console in a way I’d like to have it long term as well.
95F is freaking nuts. No wonder it feels pretty hot. I expected better from this gadget, but the fact that Microsoft allows it to get that hot is just nuts.
95F is not hot for electronic components now if it that Celsius then it would be hot. Its is actually quite cool and that fan won’t make it cooler it don’t really matter what matters is the size of the heat sink and thermal paste used this fan is more of a gimmick and is not needed, these consoles are powerful and are supposed to get hot
These fans are useless (I have used one in the past). If the air coming out of your Series S is hot then the cooling system is doing its job. If it is shutting down ,because of overheating then it is most likely dust or something else is in the way.
was wondering this lol. Why would you want to put air back into the Xbox when it is pushing the hot air out. It makes more sense having it on the bottom part where no heat exists and air enters and other vents pushing air out.
@@shifterzx I did open it up and cleaned it, still the same issue. I guess the fan isn't working. It's well ventilated too. I'm using a table fan directed at my console, for now, it works...
I bought one of these but returned it when I heard people saying these cooling fans would destroy your console. Mine seems fine so hopefully my warranty didn’t get voided
You shouldn’t plug it in directly to the Xbox, as it’s likely to draw more power than the console can handle. That’s also why you shouldn’t be powering a monitor through your console either.
I had xbox series s for ages it never got hot once even playing demanding game's not as hot as xbox one did that got so hot it bowed my plastic vent once after 8 hour session
It depends of which level do you use because if you let it in automatic is not that loud cuz it turns on and off but if you put de maximum speed it is actually pretty loud. I mean I use headsets and all I hear is the game so I don't hear at all the noise
Make sure that the Usb cable is not pluged first, then hold the device button (just hold it, no time limit) and then plug back in the device, so that will change it.
