If you are plugging it into the Xbox; you are just making it work harder which creates more heat. Those external add-ons should be plugged into an external power source!! That should be in the instructions!! This is a Microsoft recommendation!!
@@bdubberz The system is not built to power external fans and electricity does create more heat in the system. The USB is there for the accessories it has been tested to work with. My suggestion is to have a USB hub to power them connected to the wall.
@@bdubberz you are wrong as the fans you are talking about are not USB powered they run from the motherboard header, everytime you plug a USB device in the system has to send it power and that actually does generate more heat in the system.
So I shouldn't add any cooling fan for the series x, I don't even used the usb on the console, I have a portable usb? So doesn't used the console power
It is a usb 3.0 port like a computer usb 3.0 port. Connecting a usb isnt going to make the xbox hotter especially when you have a fan cooling it. I use a usb 140mm fan on the top and it does a good job keeping it cool and quiet.
The consoles avg temperature is around 120°... again remember its pushing 12 Terraflops & 16GB ram! Its gonna run hot. I tired aftermarket fan pullers on my ps3 phat back in the day... the aftermarket fans actually yellow lighted because of it! I think its a gimmick because the inlet holes are both on the bottom and back side, the fan is just pushing air out the backside, not straight through! Causing cross flow.
Good reasoning, but it really just means all the internal stuff is too hot. Put another way, this thing isn't keeping the graphic card, or the memory chips or the cpu cool enough.
It's a flawed design. You want air to pass through, thus the fan needs a gap, the base of that unit is touching all 4 corners right on the surface, so there is not gap where the air can pass through the fan, and probably the unit that goes on top of the xbox would be a better design/choice.
If you are going to perform tests, you need to perform them with and without the external fan installed. Having it installed, but not running will restrict airflow thus making the cooling of the running system less.
The thing is to plug whatever fan you want to use directly into a power source and not into the Xbox itself as that would just create more heat within the unit...
@@Cozychamomilleaddict Nobody cares, but who checks; so why take the chance with electronic if you are not checking and getting electricity from another source is so easy!
was very surprised your channel didnt have more subscribers, the content was well structured and you have an awesome looking background. Hope more youtubers find this channel
I’m thinking about buying a bottom one, I just ordered the top cooler fan so if I add a bottom cooling fan to it that’s all it would need because my Xbox X breaths like a Fire Dragon so the dragon needs all the cooling
Did you try on pulling hot air out instead of pushing air into the box? Cooling fans are supposed to help to dissipate hot temp quicker by pulling heat away. I don't have that fan you are using but, it seems to me that because it is sitting on a flat surface, the fan doesn't have a chance to push a larger amount of fresh air into the box. This hypothesis might not do anything but, testing is the beauty of the scientific method 🤷🏽
Mine does the same thing my trusted technician recommends a new console since this behavior means a busted/burnt processor quickly get your warranty fixed up!
@@chillbro2275 ideally you would want one on the bottom and top but from my personal exp thats a bit overkill a single 140mm on top does the job thats what i use
Highly recommend these coolers. I use a top extractor one, and the bottom one pushes cooler air through the series X. Mine used to shut down from overheating with long periods of play time in the summer months. Since I installed these, it’s staying way cooler and no longer shutting down. You can physically feel the extra hotter air being extracted from the top.
I thought this thing was keeping my series x from overheating but after seeing people say it might mess your console up I think I’m returning mine before my Xbox series x gets noticeably ruined. I might have made a mistake
I see what you got there and what does but I am wondering I seen another one that sits on top you can change the colors up from red-green what have you which is better clutter from the bottom I pulled it out through the top,
This is trash. That setup is restricting air intake. You only need a G-Story Top Mounted Exhaust fan. Kicks in at 96 I’ve never seen either of my XSX over 102. Fan speed adjusts automatically and super quiet. You’re welcome.
Love the one you recommend. Do you have the height in inches of the unit? Ours is in the cabinet under the TV, but the height is limited. I can't find specs on this.
Putting an Xbox Series X inside of a cabinet is a TERRIBLE idea. It will cause it to overheat. Or cause little damage over time until it stops working. They're made to be in the open.
I love this fan. It cools the Xbox down significantly at high speed. This thing is worth every penny. When I was having over heating problems in my hot room a year and a half ago this thing got rid of those problems. If this thing doesn’t help you then there is something wrong with your Xbox or you live in a desert. With headphones on you won’t hear the fan. Keep in mind though it makes it sound like a PlayStation 4 jet fighter. I have this thing running on high 100% of the time when my Xbox is on and it still works like new. This is a must buy for anyone with heating problems.
@@DonVergas-tn8si Yes but now it doesn’t at all. The overheating problems were when it was in the summer and I didn’t have an in my room and I was playing doom eternal on max settings and the fan removed the overheating problems.
Place the fan on top of Xbox to have heat exit system faster. At the bottom it only can move alot if room temperature air into a hot system. I'd try it with fan on top helping to suck air out of Xbox & into room
What you need is a fan on top of the Xbox not the bottom to create a push/pull air force ejection, what you need is to help the Xbox fan, those bottom fan cooler realy doesn't help at all
Simple setup 2x 120mm external usb fans one setup as intake one setup as exhaust both running off separate power supply. I can run series x at 120fps for 4 hours plus and my iSP router is hotter. Just need to clean dust from system and fans and your golden... Nowere near a loud as this thing Thank me later 👍🥃
On the Xbox console : Wonder if it's better to have a fan at the bottom base of the console for Push air or at the top of the console for Pull air , Or maybe both , In my opinion I think a added bottom fan would be better because there is already a internal top fan in the console so it could do the push pull method .
Neither. I was looking for one too, but after proper research, they're useless. They're a scam. Your Xbox is fine, just move it somewhere less cluttered. Mine was next to my subwoofer in a corner of the room, so I moved it. Problem solved, for free
for fan on top just forget it fan doesn't work at the same speed, bottom and back fan is a little bit help for intake air, I can tell from playing 12hrs a day with temperature meter fan from back and bottom is okay if you want to but on top is useless and waste your money 😊
@@fohrum4757 I’ve had this one in the video for about a year and a half and you are completely wrong. This completely got rid of my over heating problems and it takes the heat down from around 120F while gaming to around 95F this fan is a must for anyone who has a hot room and over heating problems. Yes I cleaned my Xbox. It doesn’t do well in hot rooms while creating its own heat at the same time. Even in a cooled room it significantly gets rid of heat. It also tells you the temperature and it goes down instantly. It does as advertised.
I work at a laboratory, and can absolutely confirm ISO test parameters and certified calibrated equipment, that at least the top-side external exhaust fans work very well. Went from median 38.3 C to 27.7 C. Or 101F to 82F. Even the Cheap G-story one I bought.
