It's been 2 years since the Xbox Series X & S released and in that time I've pulled a full 180 on my thoughts about one of them. Let's talk about what it's been like to play for the last 2 years.

I was blown away when I first saw the Series S in person. That thing is tiny. Would have been awesome when I was a kid going between mom and dad's house.

I don't know if either photos or videos ever do justice to *just* how small it is. My brother bought one because frankly he only plays a few console games, but plays them heavily, especially Destiny 2 and FIFA with his mates. And holy crap it's so, so small?? And it pumps out top quality graphics at like 1080p-1440p and 60fps? Unbelievable value for the money

I bought a series S for my bedroom and a series X for my livingroom. I can’t believe how fast they boot up and can quick resume into my games. Not since cartridge games have I been able to get back into my games so fast. It’s like 10 seconds from boot up to actually playing. Crazy.

It really is insane how a quick resume can keep me invested in games. 3DS and Switch are (almost) the same for me. Can just resume exactly where I left off. Xbox beats it when it comes to switching games, but I'm not much of a game hopper.

I love my S. I was annoyed by the space too but then I realized that I play realistically 1-3 games at any time and because it’s available to download any time it doesn’t really affect me. I had to learn to not feel like I needed to have all my games downloaded. Also their cloud gaming is excellent.

@@ManiacMayhem7256 only for non series s and x optimized games. Otherwise ya have to shove it back onto the internal drive before ya get to playem. Even with a USB drive that gets 5gps transfers

Even for me having 3 games namely cyberpunk, cod mw2 and Forza horizon 5 are the only games i actually play right now with that being said i would definitely love to have more storage to try something else from the gamepass. Considering to buy Seagate expansion in the holiday season.. let's see

The Series S with the G-story screen makes the best portable Destiny machine ever. I love mine. Way better and more affordable than a gaming laptop to travel with if you already have work machine. And I’m a Series X and PS5 owner.

We got a Series S a few days ago and so far love it. We went from a PS4 that's maybe 7 or so years old to the S and it's a huge upgrade. I wanted to get the PS5 but with the availability issues and the expense, the Series S was a awesome way to get a next gen console without scalpers for a PS5

I got a PS5 and I definitely plan on getting a series S as a secondary console. It seems fantastic to pair with gamepass and play a few games at a time, in between with the Sony ones.

I have the same exact setup! I have a PS5 physical CD edition, and an Xbox series s. I keep all my Xbox games, and games that came out before the PS5, on the Xbox series s, and I keep all the PS5 exclusive games, and non exclusive games that came out since the ps5 launched on the PS5; I couldn’t be happier with both systems.

I mean, they were the publisher of the year in 2021. They had multiple games on game of the year lists and looked pretty good. This year they’re three main titles all got delayed due to either Covid or the Ukrainian war into 2023. I only bring that up because Sony had multiple games delayed from 2021 into this year and they had a better year than Xbox because of it.

Ive got both S and X, the Series S is truly a sleeper in the console generation, its packs a punch and is just convenient for moving it around. I love both my console but find myself using my series s more.

I upgraded from the Xbox One X to the Series X, and it was worth every penny. I thought the One X was impressive until I played on my Series X for the first time. The SSD is a game changer. The whole system is way faster and loads game a lot quicker. The graphics and frame rates are impressive too. It’s nice having a consistent 60 FPS with 4K graphics as well. Most new games look and run amazing on the Series X, for example Modern Warfare 2 is awesome on the Series X.

I fought my way through bots for a halo edition series x yet I still play my ps5 more because of the same problem Xbox has had for two generations straight now - game drought - and no Gamepass isn't cutting it this year at least - next year looks great but i shouldn't have to look to the future for a system I bought almost two years ago...

A friend of mine has his Xbox series s with one small screen like a laptop and it works like a laptop and because the size of the screen it looks great. I own one XSX hooked on one LG CX and i am happy with all the features it provides and gamepass above all.

Series S hooked up to my 144hz monitor has been one of my best gaming purchases I've ever made. Cheap and easy to set up, but let's you go all the way with it. I have keyboard and mouse a d a arcade stick for it and it's an all in one arcade/PC/home console now. It can be just a CoD and Madden box or you can go all hardcore gamer and add anything you want to it. Driving wheels, arcade sticks, even a $500 flight stick if you wanted. Play your way cheap.

I have a series x and a switch lite , and i love my series x , its a great console especially for graphics nerds like me , the 1tb hard drives comes in handy for my library , playing recent games in high fps and high graphics is really great , the fact that it still reads my old discs is really cool too , no need to talk about gamepass , anyway i think series x is a W console imo

Got lucky by getting a Series S from Microsoft when supplies where in low capacity and to this day still blows my mind on how powerful is this little conconsole to the point where I won't think about getting a Series X. If only Microsoft add a external disk drive, but it's more likely that the next revision of the Series X could be all digital.

Bought a Series S and an expansion card. Love it with zero regrets. It’s 4K scaling works well enough and it does 90% of what the X does. I do have a gaming PC for hi fidelity gaming but I’m more impressed than irritated hopping back to the Series S when I want to play in the living room.

2023 is gonna be a great year for Xbox and PlayStation but mostly Xbox cause they are gonna finally release the big stuff. I’m a PS guy but the Xbox has been on my radar so hopefully the big stuff drops and everything is what it’s hyped to be. I’m ready to have all 3 systems. Great as a secondary system. True. I was only able to get an S at launch and it's great, but I couldn't resist buying an X when I had the chance. The series X is a pretty big jump from the S graphics wise. They're both fast as hell and the S does look great, but the one x did look better, it's just A LOT slower. The portability of the S is a nice feature and the price is great. Definitely a great purchase as an all around streaming and other app use device off in another room.

I love my tiny Series S. When I unboxed it I was SHOCKED. But I am happy to say that I love it so far. I don’t play that many games or everyday so it’s been a good value paired with GamePass. Only thing I’m frustrated with is the cost of the only official expansion card. I have Sims 4, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons, As Dusk Falls, Hogwarts Legacy, My Time At Portia, and a couple other games installed and still have over 100 GB storage left over. I am hoping to see more games added next year.

Did we forget that Flight Simulator is also exclusive to Xbox Series S/X? For $300-$500 you can play the best looking game of this current generation of any console and or pc. That game alone is reason enough. Yes I know flight simulator is better on PC but unless you spend way over $2000 the experience won’t be the best. Series S / X run flight simulator flawlessly and for $300. Oh not to mention it’s on Gamepass

I chose the series s bc the series x is too expensive for me. As a teenager with no salary saving money for the series x is kinda harder. That's why I bought the series s. I play have only 2 -3 games installed at once. The series s is the best option for me.

Thing is that games can be cheaper on disc so your tradeoff is that you can't buy discs and rely heavily on gamepass for the majority of the benefits of the series s in value.

We have a similar setup, Two PS5 for our primary gaming systems, Switch OLED for whole family and excellent portable device and Series S for Gamepass and Microsoft exclusives. I could get the series X but I honestly never felt the major need to do it especially with Microsoft only titles which run great on Series S.

The series s is a great little secondary machine that I use on n a 1440p monitor. My series x and ps5 are on my 65in tv. But because I have kids who also game it’s nice to not be hindered from continuing a game which is where the series s comes into play

Never being an Xbox person, I bought a Series S for super cheap to be my bridge console before getting a Ps5, and that little thing, though not as powerful as it’s Series X counterpart or ps5 competitor, is still very good in my eyes. Since I was coming from a PS4 I waited til I could actually get a ps5 disc in hand and I love both consoles for what they are. I think all digits consoles are really bad but I justified my purchase with the S since Game Pass is pretty good and the few old games I want to play are on there as well. My only killer with ps5 is not every game I own already is patched for the new hardware and there is still no true ps3 backwards compatibility.

Xbox was my main for 13 years. I got a Series S at the start of 2021 due to availability as it was easier to find. I got the 1TB expansion drive and hooked up a 4TB Hard drive to it. I've loved it and it really shines not only for Gamepass but also past 360 games too like Red Dead Redemption 1, Gta 4, etc. I found games to look stunning on it like Red Dead 2 and AC:Valhalla. With that said, I'm a Series S, Switch, and Ps5 owner. For the first time since Ps2, Playstation has become more and more my main as I love the controller and how games play on it. I honestly don't even want a Series X anymore as a result. Sure games like Starfield would obviously look better on the X, but I'm fine with the graphics.

I also have both consoles and the S is really fantastic. It's connected to a 1080p monitor with VRR most of the time and it looks and plays great. It is also a great travel companion and goes with me when I travel for work. I bought the 512GB memory expansion and that solved pretty much all the storage issues I had with it since most all of my library sits on my Series X and it didn't cost an outrageous amount to buy. Both consoles are a great buy and yes it just depends on how much you game and what you're looking to experience. If you want bleeding edge well the Series X is it and if you want the most well rounded system at a great price it's hard to beat the Series S.

Really love my series X, but the series s also has a serious cool factor whith its tiny size and punching way above its weight class. I have no reason to own a series s...but kind of want one.

Just bought the series s as an xmas present. Always been a PS fan and loyalist, but gamepass and the upcoming exclusives, namely Starfield and Redfall are going to be too hard to deny. Also saving boatloads by holding off on buying certain games, like Pyschonauts 2 and Doom Eternal so I can play it on my S. Sucks I can't add those games to my trophy list, but oh well.

My main gaming platform is PC (I do not have the robust rig out there but competent enough, though). Likewise, I still am playing at 1080p and the Xbox Series S, as well as the Nintendo Switch, has been an awesome complement. Even I play games such as Diablo III and Overcooked 2 in multi/coop mode on the Series S and pretty cool everything. Good system.

I just got the series s today and I was on PS4 pro for years and PlayStation in general. Only got it cause it’s better than my pro and cheaper and easy to find. I really like it, feels so smooth. My favorite game is destiny 2! Never thought I’d switch over to Xbox, but I’ve been loving it. Eventually plan to get ps5.

I got the very same mindset, I have an Ps5 and Switch für the exclusives and just recently bought an Xbox SX just for gamepass, never to consider to actually buying any games for it. Till few days ago, that is 😅 Now that Cyberpunk 2077 is working actually much better and its DLC is also soon coming. I was considering to wait for its official Ps5 copy, because I dont wanna buy an Ps4 copy anymore 🙃 But then, I realized that the casing from xbone to xb series didnt much change plus its perfectly optimized for series x. Thus I probably gonna buy after all a Physical copy for my Xbox 😂

The Series S has been a HUGE upgrade over the Xbox one for me, I would of got a Series X or PS5 if they wasn't all sold out.

So 2 Years into their Release, they Still don’t have lots of Titles and even in 2023 you have to Hope & Dream that New Titles get Released on Time. 😅

i bought my first ever home console for this years black friday and i chose the series x, im hoping for some amazing exc;usives next year since when i was looking for games on the internet there were less games that interested me compared to ps5 exc;usives but my brother has a ps5 so i thought itd be pointless to get one too lol, i know gamepass has a ton of the older games so i might just join in on all the years i missed

I play all my favorite EA games on SS. I freakin love it!! I'm not in a rush to get the SX unless I have a $2k TV that makes everything stand out. But realistically, XBOX doesn't have a lot of exclusives in 4k like PS. But for the value and same online access to sports/shooting games, you CAN'T go wrong with the SS.

I enjoy my Series X alot. Worth the money I paid for it almost 2 years from now. I never have been blown away by graphics the way I am now. I'm huge on graphics, it was a must for me. No more buying consoles for 5 plus years though.

I own 2 Series X's ...yet for my spare room i bought my son's a series S and i spared NO expenses On a nice 32" Samsung pretty pricey gaming monitor..(curved) and if you have a display that can FULLY utilize everything that the series S can dish out ..ill be honest very hard pressed to see a diff from my Series X's on typical 4K OLEDS vs a TRUE gaming display .....very impressed

@@outere24 oh yea best advice i can offer is go for a monitor or TV that supports HDMI 2.1 /VRR/ 1MS or a low refresh rate and i cannot see barely a diff from my seriesX's on a slightly lesser display 👍

If it wasn't for X360 backwards compatible sometimes disappearing from the digital store (and I get if you own it it's still accessible) I'd have saved the money myself. But cause at the time things like Midnight Club wasn't on the digital store, the X was the choice..

I have both, but my Series X is hardwired, while the S is in my bedroom and on wi-fi, so I use the X more. That's the only reason I play the X more than the S. They're both very comparable systems and have played several of the same games seamlessly. I love my S almost as much as my X.

I have an Xbox One X (plus a PS5, PS4 & Switch). My Xbox One X plays all the same games that I want to play as the Series X/S. I already upgraded to the PS5 but I really don't see the reason why I should upgrade my Xbox yet. Maybe if I had a PS4 Pro instead of a regular PS4 it would be the same for Playstation, but honestly not really... the amount of AAA games that can use a 4k/60 console is so much higher on Playstation. In summary the game selection on Xbox has directly pushed me towards Sony for the first time in a long time. I have the cash if I wanted a Series X. I've even seen them on shelves in stores multiple times. Maybe when a few more big titles come out I'll get a Series X, but for now I just don't see why.

indeed, if theres a shift in market or interest, it would start next year with microsoft new studios games coming out. hence why sony still win now, but i wouldnt be surprised if it does change next year. And yeah, the S is great if you want a ps5 too, which may not be my case.

I love my series x. It's my go to the ps5 is great but I have limited time to game. I turn on the ps5 and the games always have to update so I turn on the series x and the same game is updated while the xbox is off . Both are amazing paired with hdmi 2.1 tvs. I bought a mini led tv, an LG oled, 4k projector and an asus tuf monitor so 4 options for 120hz gaming I went all out

XBOX Series S and Steam Deck are the best thing that's happened to video gaming in a generation. Remember how cool the PS2 was with its rich variety of games? How its simplicity became its best asset over the years as studios could take a risk on creative and novel ideas. Non-existant load times and quick resume is a huge upgrade over last generation, I can't stand my PC/old consoles now.
