Do people just suddenly forget that CoD was/is basically broken every single season release? Mw 2019 is almost unplayable its so broken. At least Xdefiant is trying to fix stuff.

Bunnyhoping, spider drones and gsk headshot bs has made me quit.

I moved on, the hit register was what made me leave the game. They might fix this issue in the future but right now if I’m taking a clip to kill someone and that person drops me in two bullets then yeah that game ain’t for me. Hopefully the devs fix this issue up.

Funny how mark is more open than any of the current "devs" at any of the cod studios. I like playing xdefiant for its more relaxed tone. I would rather play free to play game than pay a $70 subscription to a company that relies on nostalgia bait to keep the skeleton that is cod alive.

Even though it's had its issues, I'm still absolutely loving XDefiant and play it everyday. I'll gladly continue to support it with money and playtime. The fact it was built on an engine that was for a completely different type of game and it feels this smooth is incredible.

I think this jumping simulator game is not for me.

as someone who works as a software engineer, things sometimes really don't work well if you release a new feature of a system to the public, it may work in dev servers, it may work during QA testing, but that doesn't mean it will work well in the production server where users are using it.

Echolon abilities stop working and are gone for entire game, ultras freeze on a certain percentage and never load, combat record stats stopped updating, and they are already not detailed enough

I disagree with the whole "the game is f2p, adjust your expectations". We never asked for it to be f2p and my time isn't free, they are a big enough team for me to hold them to the same standard as everyone else.

I moved on but no hard feelings. I tried it and it wasn’t for me.

I’m sticking around no doubt. XDefiant is now my mp game of choice. The issues in this game are minor compared to the game design decisions that ruin cod to its core. This game brought back my love for 6v6 arcade shooters.

I will be moving on until netcode is fixed 😢

the annoying thing is.. nothing's changed since launch up until now, so if you started to get burned out or had a bad experience with the lags or bugs or whatever, what you were holding onto was the promise of more content once this season comes HOWEVER all you can really experience right away are the maps. Wanna play with the new guns? Get to BP lvl 20 at least. Wanna try out the new faction? 700 000XP. It's just way to much of a grind to even get to the thing that was supposed to keep you playing. I really don't feel like playing for days, experiencing bad connections and all that, which i still do, just to see if maybe it gets more fun afterwards.

I like the game and I will stick around, but I got to put it down until some things are fixed like the shooting around corners and hit registering.

I do wonder why they chose to use an engine tailor made for MMO rather than an engine made for shooters. Could they not have used the R6 engine?

I have this feeling that they don't want to add killcams to XDefiant at the moment because they know it would be too embarrassing.

As someone who worked within Software Engineering I can tell you for a fact that bugs will always sneak through no matter how hard you try to make things perfectly and even when you roll out patches it can break something else that was working before. An example is when you have built a house and need to do some maintenance or extensions to the house. You will need to open up and create that space to work on which opens up issues like the potential of being robbed from the wall not being closed, electrical faults, plumbing issues, foreign objects falling through cracks, animals invading etc. It is chaos and the XDefiant team are doing a great job so far with what they are working with.

Im taking that “Break” there isnt anything to grind for other than camo challenges that just require a ton of time vs unique challenges…which is whatever honestly i hate the fact that there is no limit on the factions that can be run at one given time

They are not "working to entertain us", they are working because they want to cash out on the game. Like every other game dev.

I have had more problems since the update, than i did before any updates. One thing cod has taught me is to deal with it until its fixed, at least i know it will get fixed because they are telling us, unlike cod where we hope it will be in the next patch but we dont know...

i moved on due to lack of content. this season didn't bring enough things to do the alpha was more stable as well last year so sad to be honest

Man they’ve been developing on this game for over 3 1/2 years backed by one of the largest publishers in the industry. Multiple betas/play test and it’s still in a bad state- they absolutely did rush the game out and it’s blatantly obvious. The netcode alone is bad enough to have warranted a delay in release. Gamers can be excited about the potential of what the game can be and still be vocal about the unacceptable problems. The game hasn’t even been out long enough to have established a community and the devs already have a “if you don’t like it leave” mentality. COD won’t kill this game, it doesn’t have to- xdefiant will kill itself and that’s the sad truth

Don't like this approach from Mark. He should be humble and try and get his house in order. The players did not force him to release a broken game, and have every right to call him out for shipping broken software. If he and his team are under pressure, that is their problem to solve, don't hate the players.

Several FPSs have launched with better netcode and in a better state than XDefiant, with less investment and a smaller team, there is no excuse to launch a subpar product especially from a company the size of Ubisoft. If they chose to build an FPS in an old MMO engine, that's not the customers fault, it's simply their dumb decision. That said, you gotta respect the man for standing up for his team. I gave up on this game on the first day because I didn't like the foundations, the whole hero shooter thing is not for me, and I think lots of people are goong to do the same after these kinds of responses from Mark.

I’m trying so hard to like this game, and before season 1 I was actually progressing and getting better. Since the update, I can seem to get a damn kill! I shoot first, and get melted! Yes I play on a ps5. Is this frame rate issue causing my issues or am I that bad?!

Dropped it and won't come back until there's an ability free mode. Watching you die to the spiderbot was pain. With the addition of the shield you can hide behind and shoot is a definite no go from me

I played preseason to level 92...have not touched season 1 and don't plan on coming back. No harm, no foul. Like Mark said, move on if it anit for you. Hopefully the game pans out for the people still playing.

I remember when I had a ps4 and every major update for cod would uninstall itself and with Xdefient I’ve had a lot more fun in there from going on streaks to completing challenges and I honestly can’t wait for the future of the game I play on ps5 by the way

Honestly just watching a streamer called Pirate software (he goes by Thor but he streams in game development on twitch) since I started watching him I've come to realize how ridiculously complex it is to try and keep up with updates and stuff. So it blows my mind even more when people actually like trash on devs like that.

Mark is really unprofessional in that post. Telling someone trolling xdefiant "if you don't like it don't play it" ain't gonna go well with the Ubishit CEOS.

I just started to play a few days ago, it’s been pretty fun and the issues aren’t holding me back. This game has me excited to play fps not since black ops 3.

Getting this type of dialogue and communication from developers on such a big game is really unprecedented in today's world. I love what Mark Rubin is doing. I don't even play the game often because I'm waiting for search and destroy, but man I seriously commend the transparency. People need to be reasonable with their expectations. These are real people developing a damn game that are taking time away from their families on holidays. They don't have to do that. I genuinely appreciate what they're doing here.

All i want is fixed netcode, its still pretty bad, i know it takes time, but since beta it kinda feels the same. Other than that i like the game.

I most definitely moved on. I couldn't deal with the no hit registrations. I went ahead and said they can keep the game.

I'm on PS5 so I took a break for a couple of days, yesterday's update fixed most issues I had so I was able to enjoy my session. I'm ok having to wait for them to fix bugs, because they're actually working on it and I enjoy the game and I'll keep supporting them as long as they're straight with us.

I love xdefiant they’ll get the bugs fixed soon so got to be patient love mark he such a honest guy and he’s cool so I’m gon support the game for a long time

Sometimes it feels like Nero loves this game so much because he’s better at this than cod and the devs show him attention. He was a cod RU-vidr for 12.5 years and the cod devs didn’t interact with him 1% as much as mark rubin has. That makes him feel good so he will defend the game. He also plays with a team so he does better in this game than cod

I hope it improves because the season 1 update has caused so many issues for me.(ps5) 1. Ladders ars broken and can't be used sometimes. Got to leave the game for it to fix. 2. gun xp seems to have reverted back to old. Was averaging around 5 levels a match now it's 2. 3. screen glitching on escort mode when near objective 4. Frame drops while not as bad as day 1 season 1 it still occurs when so much is going on around you 5. proximity mine freezing mid air and dissapearing. 6. Proximity mine again detonating around 5 seconds after the enemy walks past it. Not crouching, sliding or running but walks past it. The list goes on

If people pay 70 dollars for a game they are much more likely to stick around through the problems. For a Free to play ARCADE shooter with not much to do, to say move along if you dont like the bugs,.. oh they will! Just remember that in a yr when most have all left. Just saying..Why stick around and deal with the horrible bugs and unplayable frame drops, especially on PS5 when you have nothing invested or are not a content creator that plays the game for a living. Hit reg and server sync issues have been known since the ALPHA and its still the same, even worse now after the season 1 update. Let me know when that is fixed...which will be never. They have had ample time, if they could fix it they would, so obviously they cant. Mark Rubin is awesome but I do not think that was a wise thing to say to your player base. We will see though. Also were they forced to make a shooter on a MMO engine and forced to build from the ground up or was that a choice? Sounds like a stupid thing to do. I quit playing and I have PS5

This is why the OG CoD was good, we had Devs that cared and knew what they were doing, and allowed to do what they needed to do.

One of the things I noticed is that I feel like my shots aren't registering. I don't know if it's latency issues with connection or hit reg.

Another great vid Nero and yes I’m still playing, despite the absence of SBMM I am still more relaxed playing XDefiant than I have been playing COD in the last 5 years. In fact since this game dropped I have played MW3 once. Thank god for Mark Rubin…I think I will adopt this approach to deal with the negative comments on my channel 😂

I've had a feeling the issues we've been getting are engine related, especially on an engine that has not been used historically for FPS games. I wonder if they were forced by Ubisoft to use Snowdrop and would have preferred to use an engine that is already optimized for FPS games.

Mark Rubin is an absolute legend for this. I'm so sick and tired of people pleasers in hard-working jobs having to suck up to toxic nobody's who don't know any better. Mark is defending himself and his highly dedicated team and has every right to stand his ground against the mindless negativity. The Xdefiant team will go far. ❤

stopped in season 1 because the connection issues and random netcode issues are still rampent. its not my internet i only have this in XD and also back in the day on division but that went away after some time. its a ubisoft thing and im sick of it. ill play steam or batllenet from now on.

3:03 been meaning to ask about this why would they use snowdrop engine knowing they’ll have to build it from scratch to fit their game. Why not use an engine like anvilnext (hyperscape and r6) or dunia engine (farcry) or even cryengine?

I'm loving the game so far, but I feel kind of bad because I haven't really had any of the common issues (except for my Magnum 686 constantly deciding not to shoot in the middle of a firefight).

I’m loving the game but only problem I had is I didn’t know I had to activate the major order for the GSK. So this whole time I was playing I wasn’t earning any XP towards it until I finally realized it and unfortunately none of my previously earned XP carried over. It’s annoying

My only complaint rn is that they keep adding Green skins, haven't checked ranked but I'm pretty sure a Green skin is one of the rewards for ranking up 😭

You cant kill the spider bot with the bubble shield gun is so annoying to me, and nothing is worse then getting hit with two bots back to back. Smh

My only problems are A: Matchfinding - It takes a good 5-10 minutes to play a 5-10 minute match. Its not fun spending 50% of your time in menus and loading screens. And B: Time To Kill Every character is a bullet sponge and the character that has increased HP is pretty much a must-run because the ttk makes it near impossible to 1v2 to ANY extent, besides some lucky flanks.

Been Playing Xdefiant ever since it came out and having a great time! I still play it at the moment and think people are just rediculously ungrateful for what it is. Im just super grateful that the xdefiant team are so responsive and are really here to create something awesome! Bravo to you Mark 👏🏼

My main problem with the game is spiderbot. They need to scrap that.

Love the game 99% of the time but when you match a team full of spiderbots and bunny hoppers that seems to ruin the enjoyment a bit

I think this was a poor look for Rubin. as viscerally satisfying as it likely was to write that response. a better one, imo, would’ve been to say we are trying our best, thank for playing, and then letting fans come to the games defense. Listed all the things an X commenter does not know, again while satisfying. Made me think of him as a bit of a prick. And telling folks to move on….well, I’ve moved on after the first week from Call of Bunny Hop, I find the CoD gun play more satisfying, but honestly I’ve shifted over to Baldurs Gate 3 as my dominant game for now.

They are falling victim trying to please everyone. Game should have baked another year to polish everything

I like Rubin, but that was so asinine I had an actual double take. No, they aren't working "just to entertain" us. Its their job. Their JOB. They're working to get paid, that's how jobs work. Him trying to advertise his dev team as some kind of charity service is both idiotic as well as sad. On top of that, I'm sorry, but there is NO universe where some of the things that got through this update ever should have made it to live. Period. For example, not getting your rank in ranked should NOT be possible, yet here we are. I love XD, I was hyped seeing each test session get better and better. The content in season 1 is great, I'm having a blast, but the issues from this season are unacceptable and absurd. To defend that is beyond baffling.
