She could have if her final smash was in Smash 4 because it would work out only on those games (because the smashes in those games were transformations for some characters) i however believe she could of have had a bar to fill out that would briefly make either Pyra or Mythra turn into Pneuma and basically balance their power and speed equally but slightly better or something which would make sense for the lore of their games and would of been cool as hell
@@Laenthor lol if the first word is impossible than there is no convincing you. Watch some of miiks' videos about 2 and he explains a lot of the tropes and themes that go over people's heads when playing through xenoblade 2 vs 1. Shulks arc is never really explored where ad rex has more growth overall and doesn't get as many one dimensional vibes. Plus the story doesnt have to work with the bs passage of fate cliche.
@@Implosion-Gaming bs passage of fate? It's the most interesting twist on the trope you could ever have, what? I know about XC2's lore but really none of the characters are likable to me, even if they evolve by the end of it. I liked Nia but the twist outright ruined the character, Rex is boring all the way, he didn't really start out with anything interesting and they don't do much with him. Anything about the blades is boring and nonsensical, Zeke gets some good moments but not enough to redeem him by the end. Really like nothing about 2's story, though maybe except the overall lore around it, even if I think it's flawed because it mixes with this trashbag of a story.
I feel like the VAs just recorded these voice lines without being told the context of the scene or even seeing the video play out. Rex's response to Pneuma appearing was just so...... bland.
@@luke3810 Ahh that sounds about right, really looked like the voiced actors knew what the characters were doing at that time, we even got a good Rex scream when he was talking to Malos
@@Mnemoniforma9.00 Sheik came to smash years after his/her debut game, it was a generation of technology behind. Xenoblade 2 is on the switch, with smash ultimate
@@Mnemoniforma9.00 doesnt matter much, people still have access to XC2 since its a game from 2017 and on a console thats still readily available today, and Smash is basically just an ad, and they dont want to spoil a recent game, like, with Shulk, it was before XCDE, so it was at least 5 years and 2 whole consoles
SPOILERS FOR XC2 Pneuma sure is underrated, as much as I like Pyra and Mythra, Pneuma is the real aegis and the best of both worlds, I would have preferred for her to be a combined permanent form of them, or at the very least to have her alone come back at the end of the game instead of both Pyra and Mythra separately.
Pneuma isn't the true Aegis though, she's something even greater in a way Remember, Mythra was the only person until she traumatized herself so hard with the whole Everything that Pyra's birth was part of the coping, Pneuma didn't exist Pneuma is a temporary fusion, a way to be more, that combines what Pyra and Mythra have both gained through life into something more than the sum of their parts, but she's still Pyra and Mythra, and they are still valid people who still exist, all three can and should co-exist
In Japanese, Homura means flame, and Hikari means light. In Greek, Pneuma means "spirit" and on Pneuma’s outfit it shows Proverbs 4:18 in Latin: "The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day". If you look at the Japanese code for the game Pneuma is called Homuri, the Homu from Homura and the Ri from Hakari.
It is a play on words in Japanese, as such Homura and Hikari are just called Homura and Hikari, you are not supposed to translate the name, flame is 炎 which is pronounced Homura and light is 光 which is pronounced Hikari. Their names are not written with kanji but with katakana like this ホムラ - ヒカリ.
@@georgehoelzel9842 I'm fan of xenoblade chronicles 2 and i'm SO happy with pyra and mythra in smash ultimate 2 waifus to price of one and new Main in super smash bros
Agreed. I think the voice actors did a pretty good job (for the most part) with what they were given, but it could have been fantastic if they had better direction. However, I think Malos's voice acting was fantastic throughout.
funny, that ending remind me a bit of Xenosaga 3 and now i cannot see other thing than similarities between pneuma and kos mos ( even if she is an optional blade in the game).
Such a shame that Mythra outperforms her in gameplay. She's so cool, but only a temporary powerup, so she deserves to be the unquestionably best blade in the game.
Weaponized Hatsune Miku, activate! Behold the power of anime!!! Okay I'm just kidding. I love Pneuma and her very calm personality and voice. Also Jin absolutely getting his a*s beat in her debut is the perfect way to show how strong she is.
Love her so much, she definetly looks like hatsune miku, but her Equipment (and Rex's) give me big Gundam Unicorn vibe. The Luminous Crystal Unicorn Gundam after saving a colony with Psycho-Field from Last ep of mobile suit gundam UC:0096
They made my Girl Dirty with only that much of a screen time Damn it Anyways I love Pneuma So Much,She’s basically your Typical Anime Waifu that is cute and Cool at the same time. She’s Literally a Planetary Destruction type of OP Also She and Rex just Made Ash And Greninja Battle Bond Type of Twist and I am down for it
Rex's English voice is such a dud imo. Don't know wether it was the VA or the voice coordination but he managed to get the emotion of his voice wrong in like 98% of his lines.
Pneuma is my favorite female character of the gaming! Her design is beautiful and imponent she mixes the best of Pyra and mythra And she’s extremely powerful enough power to take down even the most powerful enemies! Is an increíble character 💚 Also I’m the only one who thinks pneuma fits perfectly In evangelion?
pneuma is full power. mythra is limited. pyra is very limited. part of why she creates lower powered versions is because she is scared of destroying too much
My sister: Brother 🤗! Me: Sister 🤗! Me: I made some new friends along the way! Pyra mythra and pneumonia together: Oh hi it's so nice to meet you ☺ 😊 💕 💖 🤗🤗🤗! My sister: 🤗!
I mean thematically she's the Master Blade because Pneuma is a Blade, which are not exclusively sword-based waifus. They can also be male and be tied to non-sword weaponry. Thus, not the Master Sword.
@@AnUncreativeGuy well Nintendo isn't gonna sue themselves and monolith isn't a small indie team they've been making games for decades and have a decent size themselves
This is something I've always wondered. So yeah, I didn't play the game so I don't really know. But how can they all know she's named Pneuma, if nobody actually said it? Because I always see Rex calling her Pyra, even though it's not really "her"
@@menghuahu141 the big Greek letters is the name of the character “Pneuma”, an ascended form of both Mythra and Pyra, the small letters hidden underneath is a translated Bible verse in Latin Proverbs 4:18 "The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day".
Pyra/mythra's father: lol give her the big tiddie and the tall Degenerates:lol big tiddie Average people:COOL WEAPON easily offended people: StOp CaLlInG hEr BiG tIIbie tAlL Gf
Why is it that every time Rex screams it sounds completely flat, passionless, and without effort? The director and voice actor should be ashamed. If/when I play this game it's really going to take me out of it to hear him in those moments - which is a shame because all the other English VA's sound pretty great. Maybe it's because they don't have those "anime protagonist scream" moments.
If I remember correctly every single cast or most for the English voice acting was their first time ever voice acting, I’m guessing for Rex it’s also half because of his accent
I'd say the voice actors did really well for what they were given. It's likely lackluster direction, lack of context they were given in the process of translating and recording, and also the animation was made for the japanese version and unchanged for the English version.
