Up until I first saw this cutscene I never noticed fiora's arm just hanging out the Mobile Artillery Unit, thats pretty graphic

I’m not even a fan of this series, but I’m watching my friend stream this game, and after I saw this scene during their stream, I understood why this series is so popular. This was a heavy scene...

Omg.. i'm playing right now for first time, i'm sooo Glad that i'm not spoiled. This scene, This scene... I start to understand why people love Xenoblade so much.

Fiora has got to be more careful! The chain meter is almost empty!

What really made this scene tense was the way Metal Face seemed to take his time killing Fiora. It's clear he could've ended her life right then and there. But that wasn't enough. He wanted her to suffer. He wanted to enjoy the look of fear and anguish on her face, and savor the despair of her friends as he murdered her in front of them. All the while they were too injured to do anything other than watch.

I never expected her to die ,she looked like the main female character. Her death was also too hard to watch

They do an amazing job with the shock and horror. I half guessed her death would set off the main plot because she didn’t have many clothing options, but the brutality stunned me (I didn’t play the original).

This was the moneyshot for me back then. Adam Howden's delivery is so impactful and convincing. It's giving me goosebumps still after all those years.

Adam howden did not need to destroy his vocal cords for us but he did and I respect that

I convinced my friend to play this game, she's a big FE fan and when she got to this point she asked me if there was something she could have done to save Fiora, like having high affinity with the rest of the gang. I told her that wasn't the case and that the story doesn't have multiple endings or gets altered in any way and she was sooo relieved but sad at the same time haha

If you look between metal faces bloody claws you also see what appears to be the mechon eating her. Because if you recall when you first enter the town when the mechon are attacking, they mention "they're eating them." Also explains why there's no body. Btw I've played the original game. Just pointing out a detail about this scene. It makes it even more gruesome and horrifying when notice that. Because not only did you see her get skewered, she got eaten.

What is the point in putting a Spoiler warning and the spoiler in the title

this is the scene that convinced me that shulk is actually a really good character. i love how he stands up, looking metal face in the eyes, monado in one hand, hatred in the other, and the way he screams “I’LL KILL YOU!” sent chills down my spine, it’s amazing a voice actor said 3 words and made it sound very realistic and terrifying

Bro you gotta remove Fiora's name from the video title, adding (Spoiler) doesn't do shit if the spoiler is right next to the warning. This is such a shocking scene so early in the game that spoiling it is tantamount to a war crime.

The whole David vs Goliath theme is so powerful here. Almost a decade since I played the original, and I still feel extremely emotional witnessing the start of Shulks seemingly impossible adventure to avenge a loved one.

I just started playing Xenoblade DE but I had to watch this scene again, almost had me in tears. Such amazing voice acting in play.

When you realized this wasn't another love story.

*SPOILERS!!!* Personally, Metal Face was so much more intimidating and awesome of a villain in the beginning than he was later on. Without the ability to talk, he can't just sit back gloating and the game has to convey his entire personality through body language alone. The mocking finger wag when the Monado fails to hurt him, his slow and methodical way of movement; the way he storms towards Shulk after knocking him down remains terrifying no matter how many times I see it. I fucking love it. I don't think him being less intimidating later on is much of a flaw though, I think it actually adds depth to his character. Mumkhar's a slimy, weaselly scumbag, taking his time to rub in how much better he is than everyone else and that he just LOVES causing them pain; but this makes him come across as more pathetic than anything else, his encounters with Shulk & Co. always devolve into petty insults and, in every single encounter, the situation going against his favour. This cutscene, with him lacking the ability to talk, strips away all the snide remarks and compensation, leaving us with Mumkhar in his purest, most evil state: a pathetic and bitter man who, unable to grasp the kindness and bravery of others, sets out to destroy everything all over a petty grudge. The shift from him moving slow and confidently to him marching forward in an unbridled rage wasn't just tonal whiplash, it was showing both sides of the rotten, evil coin that is Mumkhar, Dunban's old comrade.

This is why i like this game more than xc2. It throws you a heavy curve ball and pulls you in really well. I remember getting this game on the Wii and expecting it to be just another RPG you can compare to the rest, but DEAR MONADO. How wrong i was.

Best way to compare the voice acting quality of XC1 and XC2: Watch this and Mythra's awakening back to back and you can very easily tell how much better Shulk's VA is compared to Rex.

Today i started with the game and this scene was shocking, i literally didn't expected that this were going to happen. This little plot twist made me love the game

The drop in quality in terms of voice acting between Shulk and Rex is absurd. This is much more heartfelt and enraged than…whatever Rex’s scream was in XC2.

Started playing this for the first time ever and I did not expect Fiora to die off so quick lol. I liked her ;-;

Finally played the game blind a few days ago and my god i Was in shock. So good, its so out of nowhere at first but something does feel off. Such a god beginning to a game

My brother is a big "anime is bad" guy he was saying things like voice acting isn't that hard and takes so much less skill then "regular acting" I showed him shulk's scream and asked him to explain why that isn't as good as other acting he said "well the VA is only doing 1 thing he just has to make it sound convincing" I then asked him so do you think the VA is smiling while saying the line and he just said yeah probably. I just responded saying yeah I'm sure of it and just ignored him.

Despite how much of a meme this is, this is a genuinely depressing cutscene and Shulk’s voice actor does a great job

Good job matching this up with another video of this cutscene in the Wii version. Makes comparisons really easy. Speaking of which, they made this scene a lot less... “yellow”. In the Wii version, it kinda looked like they were in a fire or something.

Xenoblade is much much better than FF... If it was released by SquareEnix, I think this must be another famous IP for SONY

The new vocals in the song suck The dissonance from the original song at 2:33 has been replaced with an opera singer repeatedly spilling hot coffee all over herself and completely kills the mood.

Bruh Fiora was so pretty, bring able to control her and walk around reminded me of final fantasy. I was getting attached and then they kill her off. Definitely hit. There aren’t any cool females that look like her in the game

This scene is on the verge of Goku finding out chi chi and Goten being killed in DBS. Godteir voice acting! Even I try to get into Shulks mindset when i see this scene and yes, spit and droll forms from my mouth from the pure rage i feel from the love of your life is killed.

What always got me with this is that the upcoming fight keeps engage the enemy and has your whole party at max tension
