I see some of you know this but others don't so just to clarify that Nia's accent is Welsh! Mio's is also but it's less thick. Those of you guessing Scottish, that's Mòrag/Shania/Fiona.
@@Bowcaster26 No, Monica and Ghondor are Australian. Fun fact though, their VAs are actually British doing Australian accents - quite well I might add, I would never know they weren't Australian without looking them up. Shania though is a case of all out Scottish playing Scottish.
I love that moment when Melia's like "stop trying to act all regal lol we both know you're a little gremlin catgirl" and Nia INSTANTLY returns to her natural X2 personality
I don't remember that nia was in X 1. A yes there was a player named Nia who defeated telethia the endbringer but if she is in X2 I won't be sad. And yeah the moment I saw Nia don't sware I was "comme on I know who you are"
@@famillesabot5719 nia is a xenoblade 2 character, and she was never part of the original x1, if she appears on the remake i am not aware, but due to both x1 and x2 happening on the same time frame, she can't be on both worlds
@@AICW the main issue there is, is that we don't know if we should calculate physical age or out of core crystal time. Physically I'd say 17-18 in 2. A tad older than Rex. But I think it could be up to 60 years since her awakening (only the oldest people in Torigoth faintly recognize her)
@@samreddig8819Nah. One of the fox thingies nym can talk to says that her family was living in Echell about a decade before XC2, but Nia's sister was still sickly.
I love that she's not just the Nia we know, her being a queen and trying to act all dignified adds a totally new element to her character which is so fun
Remember when she was telling the party about her life back in Xenoblade 2, she mentioned that her father was a noble and tried to teach her about proper etiquette and acting dignified, which she complained about saying she’ll never use those skills. Ironic, but kind of wholesome too as she says despite it all, it was some of the happiest times she could remember having back then
@@game-enjoyer13 Final boss almost blind-sided me 'cause I was laughing at seeing her try it in the corner of my screen and letting out that little "ouch".
I like to think that Nia was in constant anxiety while faking her Queen persona inner thinking stuff like "HOW MORAG MANAGED TO DO THIS KIND OF SHIT HELP"
@@raisylvaine8398 no no i can kinda see her legging as mythra's, like the one from her smash outfit, she even have that white thingy on her(i don't know what to call it.)
I imagine at least one person walked in like that on the queen of england while she was having a monologue about how she's still a bad bitch and had to shut up because nobody would have believed him.
when i first heard nia in xenoblade 3 i my mouth dropped.. i couldn't believe they had done this to her. but then you start hearing the slips and find out she's pretending because she's embarrassed of her thick scott accent. this genuinely made me smile, because it suits her. it's also good development since she becomes more comfortable over time and the only time you'll her speak "like a queen" is when she's talking to melia.
I didn't mean that as condescending, I can't tell the difference between various US accents, between US and Canadian, or between Australian and New Zealander. I just know my British accents quite well and provide that service.
Its absolutely hillarious when her old personality comes through. At first i was sceptical, but when it turned out it was still the Nia we knew and loved...well, may day was made. Also Nia is bestest Girl, fite me!
Melia spent her whole life preparing to be the best Queen there could possibly be. A Queen for her people. A Queen for peace. Meanwhile the Welsh Cat Girl simply puts on a small crown and everyone proclaims her to be the best Queen in all of the Xeno-verse.
That latter part might have been because Moebius spent the last who knows how long building up a cult of personality around both of them. Also we don’t know how long it’s been, and Nia isn’t stupid. She could certainly have learned a few things about leadership in the time between. Also she seems to have picked up the position before the merge, so as far as the inhabitants of Aionois are concerned she’s always been that.
@@andrewowens4421 Her Dad was the Duke of Gormott which would of made her a Duchess I think. Mor Ardain probably would of recognized this which is probably how she was able to jump start her platform.
@@ZaiDrizzleDrop well, provided I didn’t have the full context when I saw this, I thought there was a big implication that everyone we knew from the previous games were long dead. I now know that’s not guaranteed to be the case.
@@skyeguy7914 Aaah is see, well Rex is probably dead, Torna too, not sure about Zeke. Morag dead, the blades are probably with other drivers, but who knows where Dromarch is
@@ZaiDrizzleDrop the game doesn’t make it clear exactly how long it’s been though. And time for the real world has been on pause while origin was doing its thing. So even though Nia and Melia have been there for possibly over 1000 of origin’s years, it may not have been that long since the end of the previous games. Especially since the post credit cutscene implies that everything that happened in 3 happened in a near instant in the real world.
It’s pretty fortunate circumstances led to European and UK Voice actors. Cause while I can picture a couple of ways how they might’ve been able to make it work. I just don’t see this accent gag working as well with American English.
Knowing Xenoblade 2, there almost certainly were other Nias than the one we know now, though only one can exist at a time since they're all from the same Core Crystal. This Nia however is the ultimate Nia and will never be succeeded.
Nia’s appearance (not in her looks but as she’s physically there) in this game retroactively made me like XC2 Nia more as well. They are so goofy and I love it.
That new outfit is just Drip Overflow Good lord she looks fabulous Also why haven't we got more of nia singing she sounds like she's got a great singing voice
It would be adorable as hell if Nia in a epilogue dlc finds an old sheet of music she used to sing Mio to sleep, gets super proud and sentimental, sings without knowing the guests have arrive and accidentally puts everyone to sleep.
@@digifreak90now I'm imagining all 3 of them trying to help her be more ladylike meanwhile zeke, pandoria, and rex are like "this is a lost cause right? She can't act"
A very, very small detail. Not sure if it was intentional or not. But Nia's first words after waking up from being stabbed. Same exact ones as Rex when he realized he was stabbed.
I knew from the very beginning that mio was related to nia somehow. It could be possible that mio was jusy a gormotti like nia and it might’ve been just a coincidence that she had the same hair and eye color as nia. But there was no way them having the same core crystal was just an accident.
I'm so sad that we never get an explanation of why Nia has ghostly versions of Pyras and Mythras weapons... We do have more story coming with DLC in 2023, so i hope we get an answer to some of the gaps the story leaves behind!
I'd like to imagine the entire XC2 crew decided on Nia oh a whim off of 1 person mentioning she was a noble's daughter at some point. And despite Nia giving some sound arguments against it (Morag a general, Zeke a Prince, Pandoria/Brighid are Royal Blades, Pyra/Mythra are the Aegis, etc.) no one would disagree on her being the Queen.
We always think about how emotional Nia felt when meeting Mio but we always forget Nia already gave a mission to M who is also Mio so she actually has already been through all of that with M.
When I first played Xenoblade 2 about six Years ago, I never thought that Nia would turn my Life upside down that much, that it took me another 30 Months until I got all those new Feelings right
You know it took me a playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3 AND this video to finally come to the question: Do Gormotti actually have normal ears too beside their cat ears?
@@KingX It's got nothing to do with her special ability, D just had no clue what a Blade was and aimed for her non-existent heart instead of her core crystal :P
@@ArceusDX I couldn’t even enjoy the final goodbye to the plot thread concerning joren cause the whole time I was worried that they brought nia back just to kill her
@@frostycane5134 It's all explained. Everyone saw she was shot in the heart, but somehow alive. The human heart however is not located in the center of the chest, hence why Nia says it would've been bad if the shot had gone a little towards the side and hit her core crystal, which is her actual "heart". It's heavily implied Moebius don't understand Alrest Blade biology.
