THANK YOU for not showing late game content. IGN didn’t do this and had major spoilers in their review, so thanks for consistently being a trustworthy reviewer. I would argue the game deserves a ten, but not everyone enjoys the game as much as me.
Oh i realized why now...... i recely got into mmorpgs, i love the wide world and playing with other people. And this is basically an mmorpg😭😂 make sense now why i suddenly got interested out of nowhere.
Late to the party, but every review I watch on Nintendolife has comments that say “this review is good, IGNs was shit and they didn’t know what they were talking about” etc
@@redwinekhan8480 I don't need torrent, the game is already amazing the story and characters are already appreciable... so I don't mind spending money on this game.
This game kind of sneaked up on me. I bought this game with zero knowledge of xenoblade whatsoever. The only thing i knew about it was shulk being the main character, knowing him from smash bros. I had completely different expectations, thinking this was an action rpg. At the start i was kind off dissapointed thinking 'MMO mechanics in a single player rpg, tf ? I thought i had just spent my money on a game i was going to hate. I told myself i'm still going to keep on playing for at least 10h just to see where it takes me. Now, somewhere in those 10 hours i started to love this game and i don't even know what the tipping point was ! I'm 30h in now and can't even stop thinking about it while i'm not playing. Great game, fully recommend to any rpg/jrpg fan !
I bought the game with the same knowledge about it: "this is SMBU's Shulk's game". I loved the game since the main screen though. Some thing I kinda disliked later on was the excesive amount of hours you spend on side quests. I finished the game on 147 hours but didn't manage to complete all secondary stuff (I completed around 75~80% of it), it's too much.
@@banjoqc Yeah I remember it was kind of hard, specially at the beginning. I guess that if you skip side quests, you'll kill less monsters which maybe causes you to be underleveled?
I remember when it was just released. You could see a copy or two on store shelves. And most outside of those well aware of the Project to try to petition the localization, didn't have any idea how groundbreaking the game was. It was literally something that seemed like a miracle that they got it running on a Wii. To be fair, even the press wasn't really covering it that much, at the time. They kind of shelved doing reviews of Wii software, by then, as they do when they see the console is in its last year or so. In a way, it was kind of like a total repeat of the situation with Panzer Dragoon Saga. Another game I jumped on at time of release.
I remember well, I was very lucky though, worked in gamestop back in 2011 and was hyped for the game, I keep tabs on all rpgs coming down the pipeline and of course we got in just one single copy of xenoblade, I also got employee discount so got it for 35 euro day one :)
Fair warning a lot of the stuff in Future connected is referred that spoils the original game if you have not played the original game; or have you don’t remember it I would recommend playing the original game
@@danifit24 yes, because Torna is a prequel, although it can be played after XC2 for a slightly different but still equally great experience. In this case though, it should ONLY be played after the main stroy, and there is a big warning when you first choose FC on the main menu that basically says don't play this if you haven't played the main story.
So that means Future Connected can be played immediately after startup? Does levels and items gained from main game completion carry over to the epilogue or it will decide the level and items that Shulk and Melia is carrying?
We already know that xc definitive edition has a few resolution drops when undocked, but I’ve already seen the 3ds version of this game and nothing can be worse graphics wise than that
I forgot that my phone was conected to my bluetooth speaker on high volume so when I clicked on your video I think the whole neigborhood heard ''HELLOOOO THER LOVELY PEOPLE''
Can't wait to finally play this game after buying it for the third time lol. Played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and the Torna dlc and can't believe I waited so long to get into the series.
Currently 45 hours into Xenoblade 2, played Xenoblade definitive first, can't believe I slept on this series for so damn long, I can't wait to start up Xenoblade 3, but I have the extreme need to finish 2 first.
@@jake6381 sadly it is but xbox and nintendo can be quite friendly at times. Plus it's from the original xbox and didn't sell particularly great so it's not a valued IP.
@@jake6381 I have two copies in my parents place. I got to disc four and it wasn't working so I bought another copy. It was so good I didn't mind :). I should give it another shot as well. It's very underrated.
Coconattsu this games story is much more intense then Xenoblade 2. You’ll quickly realize that the stakes are much higher, everything is more emotional, and most of the tropes that Xenoblade 2 introduced are gone. This game is pure sci-fi jrpg gold
Looks amazing. The only thing I wish they also improved was early 2000s grade walking animations. It’s like he’s running on an invisible treadmill having no connection with the terrain.
I love all of the new qol changes in this new game. I can't tell you how many times I got lost looking for specific person, or lost my mind grinding for a specific collectible. Now you can track people and quest collectibles are marked, I can't thank Nintendo enough.
I’m actually stoked for this! Played Xenoblade 2 and was shocked by how much I enjoyed it and I’ve heard this one is even better. I just want to play it already, haha.
I finally decided to try this game out and I gotta say I’m really loving it. The combat system was completely new to me but I think I got the basics down now. I’ve been enjoying all the charachters although Reyn is starting to annoy me honestly, not too bad for now but I don’t want it becoming worse, and the story is heavy right from the start. I’m currently on chapter 11 at the moment, if it wasn’t for work I’d be playing more right now.
@@terraghost At the time he was yeah but my thoughts since then are that he is a good charachter. He does still have a few minor moments where he can be a bit obnoxious but I can see the layers he has especially in the later half of the game.
All I needed to hear in this review is that it’s not clunky and archaic anymore. Because I loved what I played of the original but never beat it because after playing xenoblade chronicles 2, just everything about it was just unrefined so with that the story was amazing from what I’ve played and I cannot wait to beat the rest of the game with this version. So excited!!!
I love how Monolithsoft updated the character models so they don't look muddy, even if they do look slightly more anime than in the original Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii, they still look two times better than the designs of the models in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
@@M.N.9 Well you're sorely missing out then, 2 is amazing and one of the best games I played last year also they the art style is quite different if you pay any attention
And the stadard for story tell at 8+ hours! I've have seen to many 8,12 and 30 hours long games fall to tell a story that flows as great as Xenoblade does in 70-100 hours!
@@princess_sarina_elysia honestly, this is one of the only games where I would say that you can set your expectations as high as you want and still be impressed.
I’m so happy we are finally getting this game in a good way. It’ll be accessible unlike the Wii version. You won’t need a stupid useless upgrade(new 3ds), and it’s been properly advertised(Wii u VC did not properly advertise the game)
So a lot of good remasters came out for the switch on Friday none of which I have played, any advice on which one I should play either this game, the bioshock collection, or borderlands
@nintendolife Alex, this is so much better than what I thought it would be. I finally grabbed it a week ago, and 30 hours later I'm just simply excited about it. This never happened with Xenoblade 2... Day 1: 3 hours, Day 2, 3, and 4: 9 hours each(weekend).
Greattt game, I think the secret sauce that makes the game so amazing is the character interaction and progression, in that aspect it gives me KH vibes. The gameplay isn’t interesting to me but the story itself and the cutscenes kept me intrigued. Hope XC3 comes out 🔥
Bout to play this for the first time I'm kind of glad that it's like the final fantasy series where the games really aren't connected and each is its own individual adventure
Im so excited for this, i bought the wii version back in the day, i put around 100 hours into it but didn't finish it for some reason but i loved it. I preordered it a few weeks ago!
Thank you for this. I couldn't find a review on here that didn't spend 75% of the video talking about tiny graphical things like shadows and other nonsense.
i just bought the game on a whim cause ive heard alot about this and its sequel. so far im really liking it and your take has only solidified that. definitely seems like itll be an unforgettable journey. :)
One of the rare game that i have to stop everytime i fight a rare enemy because the song is so good. They will know our name in the intro of this video is just excellent. Good review.
Loved XC2. Never played the original so looking forward to it. Bought the European collectors edition. Loving the fact it comes with a vinyl soundtrack. So jealous you got your hands on this early. You lucky bugger.
Very nice video. I love the game and the tweaks look so nice. (Really? You can look up who trades which item on the affinity map now? Safes so much time and trouble. Loving it already...)
can anyone tell me why i’m in chapter 4 and i only out 5 hours into the game?? People say it’s long and i feel like it’s short am i doing something wrong or are the early chapters an hour long?
ide argue that dq11 is the standard now, but great review otherwise. Excited to play this game, as an avid mmo fan, the world, quests and combat just click with me. Hyped
DQ11 is a wonderful game, and one of my personal favourites but it's very traditional and doesnt push boundaries. Xenoblade chronicles however does and its earned my respect for that
@@ryantaylor3917 incorrect on this part, while Dq11 doesn't do anything out of the ordinary it's pretty much perfected it's formula witch is why years later the series still keeps going strong (unlike Final Fantasy that experiment's to much). XC doesn't do anything unique from a game perspective, but from a single player one it shapes it's gameplay by combining mmo like style gameplay with your typical rpg style gameplay.
@@alonsom8977 I think the setting alone and it's sci fi elements really add a lot. It's cool that the series all kind of started out with a guy in squaresoft who worked under sakaguchi :). Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest are both pretty amazing in my book. I never want Dragon Quest to change but I'm happy to see what's next for Final Fantasy :).
@@philipp5756 sounds awesome, ngl im a new fan to this series and im loving it. Put 7 hours into this game in the first day. It plays like a portable gw2/wow. in love
Modern gaming has mostly left me in the dust and that makes me quite sad. I tried to get into Xenoblade Chonicles but I haven't the slightest clue how the battle system works. I'm used to old school Final Fantasy battle systems when it comes to RPG's. I remember the music in this game being superb and the graphics being amazing for a Wii game.
After attempting to finish Xenoblade 2 over the last couple years, I really want to beat it before jumping into this one. The series has always been interesting to me, but I just have not for the life of me been able to sit down and complete 2 yet.
Mine didnt arrive in time but meh I got that beautiful UK collectors edition coming to me and I did get confirmation that its shipped so another few days baby! :)
I tried to play this on my new3ds when it came out. I loved the game but the visuals and the 3ds hurting my hands when holding stopped me from experiencing it. I got it for 40 bucks yesterday and can't wait to play.
I say they have more than a couple Sequels. Torna Should Count as its own game Imo. Its 40+ Hrs introduced a new revised fighting system and has its own physical. It is its own game. Its longer and more deep than a lot of full priced games. It almost does it a disservice calling it a DLC add-on. To me I have it on a sepatre cartridge from XB2, So it's a separate game. They should of just called it : Xenoblade Chronicles: Torna The Golden Country and dropped the 2.
When I saw you had linked the medium armor skill to Shulk i audibly sighed. Because he has the same skill. and you can equip medium armor on him from the start..
Still can’t believe this game is getting a definitive edition. It feels like yesterday when I walked in my local GameStop and picked up the original wii release
Hey... so I loved xenoblades 2.... great story and totally fun. I'm playing xenoblades 1 on switch. And I'm just not digging it. I can't put my finger on why, but the story and charcters just aren't grabbing me like 2. I'm at the part where I meet some girl and her brother (who has the vehicle) Does it get better? Or am I far enough, that if I don't like it. I wont? Thoughts?
Xenoblade Chronicles has been sitting on my switch for almost 2 years and I just started it. I'm a little past the point that you're talking about probably 6 hours and it does get a little better but I'm of the same mindset of you it's just not grabbing me like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 did or Torna
@@BileDuctBalderdash Yeah 2 was just amazing. I'm playing 3 now and it starts off good. But its kinda losing me.. I think with 2, it was the love story between Rex and the 2 girls that made it awesome.
