Dunban: So Dickson and Alvis betrayed us, and now we have to fight a god. How do we prepare for this?! Shulk: Lets plant flowers at colony 6 and talk about our feelings. Dunban: ... Shulk: ... Dunban: BRILLIANT!!!!
Dunban: Shulk, why are we not going out to find Zanza? Shulk: We need to get stronger Dunban: Then why are we planting flowers in Colony 6? Shulk: ... Dunban: ... Shulk: WHO CAN SEE THE FUTURE AGAIN? Dunban: You're smirking. Shulk: JUST TRUST ME Dunban: You have a very obvious grin. Shulk: SHADDUP THIS IS 100% NECESSARY.
I love the relationship between Fiora and Dunban. Like even in the fray of their world being threatened by a god, they can still be positive and share a heartfelt moment
i like how Zanza just sits back and lets them build Colony 6. Dickson: shouldn't we attack? Zanza: naw, Grimm is on. Dickson: but- Zanza: Dude.........Grimm.
I know this is a little off topic, but is awakening the first game in the series without a forced promotion? I probably shouldn't say that here of all places.
Lord Tullus 9 Awakening is actually NOT the first game where the main Lord promotes the same was as regular characters do, and I actually only realised this mid-typing. FE4, Geneology of the Holy War, had Seliph, who starts out as a Jr Lord and promotes to Lord Knight pretty much the same way any other character would in that game, no forced promotion at all. (The First Gen Lord started out promoted)
Melia in the new outfit in this episode looks like Fiora did at the beginning of the game, save for more white and more pale pink colors included. Also, Mechon (Not machina) seem to do things of their own accord all on their own, as if they're a sort of wildlife that can be violent. It's totally possible that the mechon that Emile had to kill had gotten there YEARS ago, during the first battle with Dunban weilding the Monado. Or the battles afterward. Even with Egil gone it could just be doing its own thing, lured by said ether that it _needs_ to survive since they survive off of water and ether. Fiora: "I made up my mind after that. I decided that I would never endanger myself so thoughtlessly again." *A few episodes ago* Fiora: "I shouldn't tell Linada the mechon doctor who is better at both homs AND machina physiology than me when i'm dying, Surely there's no way for me to live with Meyneth gone. I should just make a good lie instead so that Shulk won't worry!" Derp.
Fiora: " I decided I'd never endanger my life thoughtlessly ever again" Says the one who decided to stay near Shulk when Zanza was about to be fully awakened
He used to not post on Mondays and Thursdays but I guess because he's almost done and the video are a little shorter than usual, he's back to uploading every day. If you want to know why he didn't post on Mondays and Thursdays, he said that he was only getting 4 hours of sleep.
You know, the relationship between Fiora and Dunban is like the relationship between me and my big brother. He's always been there for me and actually, when I was six I had trouble breathing and I almost died. And when I got home from the hospital, my mom told me that my brother was so worried and cried because I was gone and he didn't know where I was. I just love how in video games I can relate to some things!
Not only side quests, also the new areas and such, i missed so much of that in my first playthrough. But yes, so many new side quests especially with all those High Entia. Tephra Cave incoming for next episode?
I hope people don't whine about sidequests this time, not only are there a lot of interesting ones left, but after all the twists and plot bombs recently there's nothing wrong with a change of pace, especially now that we get daily episodes.
Krissj100 Do people actually complain about sidequests in a Chuggaaconroy LP? I'd understand it if it was someone that doesn't do the types of videos he does..
***** Unfortunately, complaints have resounded through most of his sidequest videos. I figure the sidequesting came with the territory at the outset when he said he'd 100% the game, so I just roll with the punches. Besides, that's the type of gamer I am.
It looks ridiculous on her. It completely goes against her character. And it makes the glasses look bad. They complimented the dresses, but this is just... no. Dear lord someone tell me she gets better equipment that looks more like her.
6:38 Am I the only one who thinks Melia's outfit looks a bit like the underwear clothing options that Chugga hates so much? I think it's just me. On the bright side, the Imperial Staff is totally appropriate for what's happened recently. Using it in the name of her family and people...
I've noticed this game has an extremely similar characteristics as FFX if you look into it 1. Shulk and Tidus both yell a lot, are glass cannons, both blonde main characters whose signature weapon changes abilities mid game, while getting stronger ones as well 2. Reyn and Wakka are both the second character that permanatly joins that party. Not only that, they are both buff, but they are both tanks but damage less than their smaller friend (Shulk and Tidus respectively). Not only that, both of them save their friends lives in the very beginning as well 3. Sharla and Lulu are not that quite as similar as other characters are. Both are incredibly useful early on, then later in the game when having a cannon and a tank are vital, become less and less important but still needed for certain situations. As for romance, I can't say anything yet since I don't know what's gonna happen between Sharla and Reyn. 4. Dunban and Auron are almost exact entities in a way. Both are seasoned vets who have fought the main enemies before and know what to do in certain situations. Not only that, they are both fan favorites for each game. That and both characters have an arm that they cannot use 5. Riki and Kimahri are the nonhuman broken-English speaking animals of their respective games. Not only this, but both are outcasts in their homeland until they prove their worth. 6. Rikku and Fiora are two being that seemed to die early in the game, but turn out to actually be alive. They are both part of a heavily machine culture, but neither of them really have that many similarities. 7. Lastly for the main characters, Melia and Yuna are both daughters of very popular people that died for a noble cause and are expected to follow in their footsteps. Both have main attacks that deal with summoning, and both use a rod for it. Both have gray hair, and I could go on, but I wanna stay away from FFX spoilers
i honestly never even realized that...which might be connected to not having been able to play FFX yet but from what i could gather in the videos i watched you are right...and one thing i realized: You forgot to mention that Wakke and Reyn also look alike to an extend except being buff
Their abilities in battle are based on the usual "jobs/classes" black mage white mage etc and sharla actually becomes more useful later on specially if you make her offemsive
MCG_Raven Here's another thing about Wakka and Reyn. Remember when we first meet Riki and Reyn spikes him as if he were a volleyball? And Wakka is a pro Blitzballer, which also has him do a lot of volleyball moves to his blitzball. Oh, and they both have red hair.
What if the trinity is of Alvis, Dickson, and Zanza? What if it's a lot like the triforce? Alvis has wisdom and the ability to see the future. Zanza has power and the ability to steal life energy from all of the beings of Bionis. Dickson has courage and thinks that with the Telethia army, he can't be stopped. How's that for a theory?
Maybe, but Alvis seemed to be the one to help Shulk unlock his new Monado 2 episodes ago and he hasn't done anything directly against them yet. If anything, he's just basically said "So, do you want to stand against Zanza or go alone with his plan?" like he was giving them a choice. As someone who hasn't played the game, I'm guessing Alvis is going to try and help them defeat Zanza somehow but he can't interfere or let Dickson know what he's planning just yet for some reason.
That heart-to-heart gave me a punch to the feels. Fiora promises not to endanger herself or be reckless, and yet... At this point in the story, she's pushing her body to its limit. She admitted last episode that she was basically about to shut down... It hurts.
"I'll never throw my life away again." THEN WHY DON'T YOU TALK TO LINADA ABOUT YOUR POWER ISSUE BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE Geez, it's like, when you were removed from your Face, she helped get everything working EVEN THOUGH YOU WERE MISSING ORGANS. Pretty sure she can fix Fiora's power issue a lot quicker than that one. Just something that irks me a bit.
"Gaur Plains" still remains as one of my favorite tracks from this game. Even now that we're well past its initial impact when the world opened up to the party, the song still seems to carry this weight with it.
You know, during the battle with the Telethia, you can see Fiora using Cannon Drones. But you can also clearly see that the drones on her back are the ones for Sword Drones.
When Fiora said "We've barely even helped with the reconstruction" I was expecting Chugga to chime in with a complaint considering what he just spent a lot of the video doing. Melia's outfit... I really want to praise the creators for actually changing the characters' outfits and remembering what they were wearing in each cutscene because that is super amazing, but some of the clothes are just ridiculous. Melia's outfit is probably the least ridiculous out of the one stupid outfit each character seems to get, but I'd still much prefer her wearing her awesome looking dress. I just wish you could turn on and off whether a character wears their default outfit or not. I'd always keep Fiora on default, because I love her silver design. But Riki is too adorable in his fluffy white tiger outfit so I'd keep that on him. Just as an example.
Melia is actually showing some skin? That threw me off. I'm too used to her normal attire even though I also had this equipment for her when I played due to better stats.
Yami Yeah, Melia has become my favorite of the girls as well, go figure. I was somewhat surprised when I saw the outfit Fiora is wearing. It's pretty terrible. But at least they give you options, I wish the developers at least gave you more modest options, I'm hoping that's how X will be.
Sounds roughly the same to me, but Chugga only fights the enemies he needs to instead of killing everything, so if he continues at that pace I don't think he'll be strong enough for the final battle.
***** The final boss is at Lv82(I think) even though the game doesn't directly tell you, and I was the same level as you. That would explain why a lot of my attacks were missing.
Prince Kalian One of the few fights in the game where Sharla made a difference. I think I used Shulk, Dunban and Riki the first time, but now if the game would allow me I could probably solo him with Fiora.
***** Sharla is REALLY usefull for me if i use her as combination of offense and support/healer chugga is failing miserably at making her offensive tho
Speeking of beautiful, Melia looks really good with her new outfit (never thought I would such thing about an 88 year old girl (and I never thought I would THAT either)), no wonder why Juju were staring at her like that.
Man, it's weird to see Melia dressed like that, also "Sorry we didn't get here in time with our magical sword" has to be one of the funniest quotes Ive seen in the game!
The Lucina Drones, huh? Could Fiora wield the Falchion? Could Fiora use Aether to perform critical hits? Just imagine if Fiora switched to the Lord class in this game...
I have no idea who Masae is, but I do find that many white guys in North America that are video game nerds usually are really attracted to Asian women.
It's really nice to have a return of your great commentary for a full episode =) (Albeit I really like the cutscenes too, the artistic direction in this game is really good). Can't wait to see how much Bionis did change!
"Your-un-us Drones." Why do I feel like Chugga said that on purpose just so that no one can say "Hehe, you said your anus drones", thus adding to his repertoire of weird unintended innuendos that he doesn't understand, leading to a lot of teasing and to Lucahjin finding another "book" to give him?
It's videos like these that remind me that rpgs can have the greatest stories ever, but it's the responsibility of the player to make the world a better place.
I felt lost on what to do next after since you are throw in the wild after Mechanis Core, and not knowing which was right to go for next, since I didnt want to complete the story yet, this vid helped alot, reccomended!
So.... I know this is old and giving tips to chugga at this point is useless, but Weapon Power Gems do not increase the likelihood of a Critical Up gem, so equipping Shulk with a Critical up gem and two weapon power gems is a waste of 2 slots. Weapon Power Gems only affect the following gems: Agility Down Gems Bind Gems Blaze Attack Gems Bleed Attack Gems Break Gems Chill Attack Gems Ether Def Down Gems Ether Down Gems HP Steal Gems Paralysis Gems Phys Def Down Gems Poison Attack Gems Slow Gems Strength Down Gems I personally put Haste, Arts Stealth (might switch out for Critical Up), and Double Attack on Shulk.
i had a dream that this happened: dun dun:so, your back huh? shulk:yep, and i have a copy of the manodo! dun dun:you know thats a gun right? shulk:yep! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i had to post this!
Fiora isn't a mechon, that is the armor she was inside. Fiora is a machina. At least, that is my understanding of the way things work. Sorry if I misspelled some of those, they are not really common language.
Just because of the Lucina Drones, don't take this as saying you need to let's play it (although I would not be against it) do you like fire emblem:awakening and if so are you exited for the new one?
IIRC Chugga eventually bought Awakening despite not liking turn-based strategy games because of so many suggestions. He then posted that he really wanted to like it, but couldn't.
***** I think he said that the perma-death feature of Fire Emblem turned him off, but Fire Emblem Awakening didn't have that and he said on Twitter that he ending up liking it.
Honestly, fire emblem path of Radiance on easy mode is just like casual mode. It's so friikin' easy. Seriously. Just take it slow, pay attention to detail and dialogue, and it just might be a breeze!
OH MAN CHUGGA, I TWEETED THIS OUT TO U LAST NIGHT SAYING THAT WILL WE EVER FIND OUT WHAT THESE HIGH LEVEL MONSTERS SERVE MEANING FOR AND THAT WE HAVE TO FIND OUT SOON. I FEEL LIKE SUCH A GENIUS RIGHT NOW FOR FORESHADOWING THIS
I was playing FE:A while watching this and, right when the joke about the Lucina Drones was made, I had Reclassed Lucina into a Great Lord. I just about died laughing.
3:45 Yay for the Fire Emblem reference. As soon as I saw the Lucina drones I immediately thought of Lucina from Awakening. It kinda sucks that the Lucina drones had the cannon drones art, but the Uranus drones had the sword drones art. Yeah Fire Emblem Awakening came after Xenoblade so they didn't see how Lucina was very good with the sword. If time allowed and Awakening came first, the Lucina drones would have the Sword Drones art, maybe even with a dragon damage up stat since Lucina wields Falchion.
Dang, I frikkin' hate lady maneya! Why not completely throw it away and give it to Spoilers: te gowd of Biono, lord zuju, hoo is otherwise known as otharold square-son, te biggest meanipants en el entire game + see, I speak Spanosh
Ugh I was hoping you would switch Fiora's outfit to something more decent looking. I hate the Speed armor series because it's so revealing and stupid, even if it does have gems and boosts that are good for her.
About pushing Gogols off the cliff with Melia. You can do this very early as Melia. All you need is spear break and hypnosis. If you're very underleveled you won't be able hit the gogol with physical attacks so you'll need to use hypnosis to let you land the spear break. You basically need to lure one gogol to the cliff, stop your teammates from attacking, put it to sleep and push it off. Oddly enough, I think you can get parts for Fiora before you get her back in the story this way.
Well we are soon to the end of the game. There are only a few fights left, and there isn't much sidequests left, I just want to say (I'm probably saying this too soon) Thank you for doing this LP I made alot of friends I have to say this was your longest and greatest LP. chuggaaconroy
