A full guide & review of "Xenotes Enigmatic Water Tours" (formerly Xenotes Oasis Maya) near Cancun and the Riviera Maya.
About Xenotes Enigmatic Water Tours:
Enigmatic Water Tours, formerly known as Xenotes Oasis Maya, is a tour located near Playa Del Carmen in Mexico. Xenotes is a tour that takes you to 4 different cenotes. A cenote is a fresh water sinkhole created when a cave’s ceiling collapses after thousands of years. In addition to experiencing the natural beauty of these 4 cenotes, you also get to take part in activities like snorkelling, zip lining, rapelling, kayaking, and cliff jumping.
Xenotes is a popular excursion for tourists visiting the Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Riviera Maya, or Tulum areas of Mexico. Xenotes is owned by parent company Grupo Xcaret, which operates several tours and parks in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo.
We had an amazing time at Xenotes. It's a great tour for everyone, including families with kids, couples, or groups of friends. I made this video to show you what to expect, and also give you some tips to help you get the most out of your visit.
If you have any questions about Xenotes Enigmatic Water Tours by Xcaret, leave a comment below and I'll respond. We highly recommend Xenotes, it's beautiful and a lot of fun!!

This does NOT cost you anything extra, and it does NOT impact my opinion of the tour. If you choose to use my referral link, not only are you buying tickets from the official website, but you're also getting the cheapest price from a trusted source. You're also helping me, because it took lots of time to record & edit this video. If you don't want to use my links but found my video helpful, then a like and comment would be appreciated :)

How did this tour compare with the Xplor tour you took? Also if you had to choose one between Xplore, Xplor Fuego, and the Cenotes, which would you choose? Thanks! Great video and tips!
@TulumToCancun
@TulumToCancun 5 лет назад
The main draw of Xenotes was the natural beauty of the cenotes and exploring them. Xplor on the other hand was all about fun and excitement. They're different and have their own charm, in fact we visited Xplor & Xenotes on the same trip and loved both, but if I HAD to pick one, it would be Xplor for sure. Thanks for watching!

We were at Xpor Fuego a couple of years ago. VERY fun!, LOTS of climbing stairs. (Up to zipline towers) but it was AWESOME! We're looking for something we haven't done before. I think we're going to Xenotes this summer.

doben tiapon Theyre all great in their own way, so it depends on what you’re looking for. I liked Xplor for the action & excitement and Xenotes for nature. Xel-Ha was a nice mix of nature + laid back fun. I can’t decide on just 2, so those are my top 3.

@TulumToCancun
@TulumToCancun 6 лет назад
Emily Waterfield It depends on what you want. Xplor is all about the action, whereas the main draw of xenotes is the natural beauty. Xenotes was relaxing and interesting, whereas xplor was just a day of pure action and excitement. We loved both equally, but for different reasons. So it all depends on what you prefer. Either way you can't go wrong.

@TulumToCancun

I can't remember exact timelines because I wasn't keeping track, but I think we spent about an hour at each cenote, had a lunch break in between, and spent about 20-40 minutes driving between each cenote.

@TulumToCancun
@TulumToCancun 6 лет назад
I'm not too sure, I couldn't find it on the Xenotes website, but someone in my Xplor video mentioned that their weight limit is 300lbs, so I would guess it's about the same. If you want to check for sure, go to the site and use the live chat. Their customer service is really helpful.

Is it safe for non swimmers? Are the life jackets strong enough to float if we don’t know swimming?
@TulumToCancun
@TulumToCancun 5 лет назад
The life jackets are strong enough for the average person and they have lifeguards, so as far as safety goes, I think you'll be fine. My wife doesn't know how to swim very well and she had a blast. As for your own comfort/confidence, as long as you can move around once you're in the water, I think you'll be fine, maybe avoid high jumps or deep dives just to be extra safe.

I am terrible at swiming. Is my experience going to be limited in cenotes?
@TulumToCancun
@TulumToCancun 2 года назад
In my opinion, your comfort and confidence in the water is more important than swimming skills. I visited the cenotes with someone who can’t swim, and they everything I did because they felt comfortable with a life jacket. That’s just my opinion and experience, I hope that info helps you decide for yourself.

@TulumToCancun

The ride to the cenotes is bumpy and most cenotes feature optional jumps. If those don’t sound like a problem for you, then I think it’s accessible and you can have a great time enjoying the scenery and swimming.
