Recently I picked up the Xero M9 Waterfed pole from WCR.
The Xero provides 21ft of extendable pole and is traditionally used strictly for window cleaning. As part of my Pressure Washing business I wanted to be able to tackle window cleaning as an additional service, so the Xero M9 Water Fed Pole was an obvious choice to evaluate.
However, in addition to traditional window cleaning services I wanted to explore the concept of using a Water Fed Pole to clean (at the very least) vinyl siding. It seems like a sound strategy so I wanted to test it out.
Taking a large Water Fed Pole, with its accompanying brush, and using it to agitate and scrub the siding of a typical single family home - sounds reasonable to me. It's not something you see too much of, particularly on this platform, but I can't see why it is not a viable application for the Xero M9 Water Fed Pole.
In this video I give some brief observations on the Xero M9 Water Fed Pole as I took it out of the box. Again, I am looking to use this water fed pole for traditional window cleaning applications, but also to clean vinyl siding (and possibly more). It is under those conditions that I am providing my initial thoughts on the Xero M9 Water Fed pole.
Overall I am pretty satisfied with the Xero M9. The pole is pretty versatile coming in at 21ft (fully extended) and the 30ft of hose line is pretty adequate - although as I note in the video, 50ft would have been much better. The bristles on the brush are solid enough to clean windows, but also appear rigid enough to tackle vinyl. For me that was the single biggest question I had about this Water Fed pole.
I am curious how the Xero M9 will hold up though. It is designed for window cleaning, not for the application I am using it for. So it will be interesting to see how the brush holds up over time.
