I also build drones and I have seen multiple test that shows when putting capacitors this far away from the esc doesn't do much in filtering/spikes. I don't get it why they keep doing this in rc car esc's.
@Truth12345 Yep definitely better to have em as close as possible but they do help with ripple at higher rpm too and that lowers the temps on the FETs the solid state caps work even better too
@@WTFRCCars Like I said I have seen test with drone esc/motor that pull less amps. I assume that the rc car esc that pulls more amps the results will be even bigger. They tested with 3 ways: Putting the capacitor on the battery connector Capacitor on very short thick lead to the esc thermals. Directly soldered to the esc. Capacitor on the battery connector had negligible effect. With a short lead to the esc was somewhat effective. But still a night and day difference between the capacitor directly soldered to the esc.
Both of them are new, the none elite has a cageless fan, temp controlled fan and think it has polarity protection, think the elite has normal fan don't think it has polarity protection but both are the new 32 bit architecture but it's best to check hobbywing site for all the specs :)
@robertkotevski9649 You will need to check as when I was looking at the specs they had only just been announced so specs may have changed especially with firmware updates :)
Absolutely. I only race touring cars and run 6v for the consistency as well. Btw great video series on the Noble NB4, I watched one of your videos on the throttle spring! In regards to the bec comment, I just wanted to point out where they could have downgraded the esc to cut costs.
I could be wrong but I do not think this is the V4 ? I think the settings are different, this appears to be the older 30112600 sold for £124.99 on MB Models. I think the V4 on the Schumscher site may be incorrect. Still a fantastic ESC and price. The V4 has a different fan also part number 30112613 and the Elite with a seperate power switch. currently priced around £189
This is the new Xr10 Pro v4 there is also the new 32bit xr10 pro with shroudless fan and 32bit xr10 pro elite, some of the older models do come with external switch cos I have a few of them but this is definitely the xr10 pro v4 it's directly from Schumacher uk
So the XR10 pro v4 is the new lower priced one I have in the vid The xr10 pro g2s and elite g2s are the new 32bit ones You will also see stores discount the older xr10 pro and elite ones down to around the same price as the new xr10 pro v4 as they are basically the same thing hope this clears it up :)
I got lots of hobbywing esc's and all still working fine this one is in one of my touring cars and runs great not sure what issues you have had but almost all the drivers at the 3 local clubs near me run hobbywing esc's and I do t see issues with them?
@WTFRCCars I think there is an issue in the firmware or a faulty batch as alot of people have had same issue. Car loses drive. Turn off and on then works again.
Yeh definitely not had that but the 1st thing I do is check for firmware update and change the settings to what I like to run so maybe firmware issue? I've done many races with mine and no issue at all with it I'll check the firmware version when I get a chance.
So I have asked a few of the drivers and the original firmware you needed to select the 4wd profile and then they worked fine and didn't suffer the cut out fault
