Hey guys, sorry for pinning this comment on all videos but I want to give you an update on the channel. I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to RU-vid videos for each track). Pilkipedia archive link has been added as well and I've been having fun illustrating some of KP's best bits, I'm adding these to a shop incase anyone is interested: www.man-moth.com/ It's taking me a while to update the archives, especially as I don't work Mondays so please bear with me as I chip away at it. Lots of love, Man Moth.
Any plans to reupload s2e2? It's been missing from this channel and playlist for quite a while now. It's a shame that we have to look for it on another channel which sort of breaks the flow of listening to these as a playlist.
i've been tempted to start writing down a list of the tracks they play for each ep is that something that would be at all useful? i've never listened to these before so I'm gonna get through em all eventually
Absolutely. Some rudimentary maths on the increase in views on these videos tells me there are probably more people listening to these at any moment than are watching everything else they’ve done combined. I wonder if they realise?
@@arstulex it's the typical Karl story. Talking about a real thing, but misremembering it ever so slightly that it becomes absolutely nonsense and hilarious
May 2021. Still listening to these every single night. I’ve done so now for 8 years. Every single cycle brings me just as much joy, just as many laughs.
I turned into Ricky when I first heard 'man moths??' all those years ago - I couldn't breathe. One of the highlights of anything all these three have done.
I just heard it for the first time as I was getting some laundry out of the dryer. I dropped all the laundry and had to hold on to the dryer for minutes on end to keep from falling over. This will keep me giggling for weeks. I hope Karl's a millionaire by now, for this is better than comedy gold, it's comedy unobtainium or something!
"Man moths" is right up there with the very best quotes from these shows..Along with "something's said" and "I've always wanted to kick a duck up the arse"
Definitely! :D Also partial to "Cat food...", "Woshda'?", "Christ! DeBerg!", "Never saw that manhole cover again!?!..", and "Wot I'm sayin' is... If it's all about arse, why don't gays like a little bit of tit?!" :D (to be honest I would fail to name but a few, the top moments are endless)!!! ^^
The pause before 'never saw the manhole cover again' might be Karl's greatest moment, up there with the '....Steve' bit about the monkey with bulging eyes.
I love how Ricky is brooding in the background, giggling quietly while Karl tells them about the slugs getting into letterboxes, it builds up as Karl goes on, and then he explodes when Karl says "again, if there's a doctor, or a postman..."
Ricky clearly missed the chance for a Bowie reference from Labyrinth....he probably would've broken into that mock falsetto..."how you turn my world you precious thing/you starve and near exhaust me!!" Brilliant
@@arturobandini4078 ffs, don't give them any ideas. They'll turn ghosts into the new thing next. "I identify as a ghost". Or advocating people not being allowed to criticise pseudo-sciences anymore.
Can't believe this has a million views now I'd bet money that it's probably the same 50,000 or so people including me relistening for the last 9 years lol
Steve does my head in though its Karl and Ricky who make this so funny. I'm listening to it on spotify going to work and coming back I love it. Love if they got together again
XFM 2-01 0:00 Feeder - Come Back Around 0:44 The Only Ones - Another Girl, Another Planet 3:20 Coldplay - In My Place 7:34 Bruce Springsteen - Brilliant Disguise 11:37 Incubus - Are You in? 11:45 Richard Ashcroft - Check The Meaning 16:33 The Smiths - Cemetry Gates 23:45 The Cooper Temple Clause - Who Needs Enemies 23:49 The Vines - Get Free 27:42 Warren Zevon - Werewolves of London 31:11 Ash - Envy 31:15 The Smashing Pumpkins - Today 37:52 Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Spread Your Love 41:22 Jimmy Webb - Galveston 41:49 The Electric Soft Parade - Biting the Soles of my Feet (Same Way Every Day) 46:18 The Flaming Lips - Do you Realize??
The final one gives only a bell sound to really go on. Maybe someone else is familiar enough with it to identify. +MrAwesome1986 , I doubt you'll even care any more after two years, but the song you were wondering about was Envy by Ash :P
Obviously I'm also glad they aren't actually in the audio, but Man Moth said he wanted to put the lists in, and I compiled them as a thank you for uploading these shows. Judging by the responses the list normally gets, I would say people tend to disagree with you.
AND I'M BACK...listening to the whole of series 2...again. Is there anything else out there that is better audio entertainment than this? I don't think so. Please help me!!!
Honestly listening to these in bed late at night and sort of zoning out and then out of nowhere hearing 41:48 sort of scared the shit outta me. Like something out of a horror movie that was
Ricky laughing so hard he is gasping for breath. Listened to these shows so many times and it never fails to have me in stitches. This show could never happen these days it was be cancelled immediately. Sad times
The man hole cover story is forever my favourite Karl moment. The exasperation in his voice, tired of Ricky & Steve’s criticism of his stories & then Ricky’s laugh at the end just make it perfect.
The most beautiful thing is that even though at this point Stephen merchant was hardly poor (first series of the office, xfm gig, probably some advance for series 2)he is genuinely so upset about £165!indeed be even took the tube instead of a cab to make up for it. My kind of man 😂😂😂
Completely agree with Steve on that "buying someone drinks all night and them fobbing you off later" thing. Had that a couple times, when I used to regular pubs/clubs and it's so annoying. Not that you don't get to pull, just it's deceiving. I would've probably still bought drinks, chatted and had a laugh even if I knew they weren't interested. There is a difference between "being on the pull" and "going out for a good time" lol.
If it weren’t for this episode there would be no Man Moth channel. The guy is a legend and I’m not sure if he still knows how many years of entertainment he’s provided for so many people.
Before I got on to listening to the full podcasts I came across a lot of snippets across RU-vid. Some of my favourites were the man moths, the cat and the manhole cover. Hearing all my favourite moments in one episode was absolute quality
It's challenged by another moment in this very episode. "About a fire that didn't happen, about a wife that didn't exist and a cat that didn't look happy..."
Here we go. The season where the tension begins to build up. Karl gets more irritated and gullible, Ricky gets more loud and obnoxious and Steve gets more mean and hypocritical.
+DV M well, I think Karl might actually be a more interesting character than Ricky. I suppose Derek would be the last time. It's a shame Steve didn't work on that, it was really poor.
Mick G. Gervais and merchant really are far better as a sum total than as individuals. Was watching "hello ladies" (also poor, though not as bad as Derek,) and then watched extras... Genius
21:15 This episode has Man Moth, Cat that didn't look happy, and Man-hole Cover, but let's not overlook "They had to because that's where the three piece suite was."
Back in the good old days with good music, good films, a fun time to be had on the internet, a decent economy, no social media, and no crazy political ideologies.
0:00 Hoo-hoo-hooo, that's Feeder and "Come Back Around" - It's a new leaf, Steve, I've... I'm'a ... Ju-juju... do it properly now... I'm not gonna be slovenly, I'm sittin' up straight you see, and it's gonna be a proper... dj'ing ... {The number of times I've heard this as I try to drop off to sleep every night...}
