Love your reaction. When you said that XG is different, ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. Actually this is a Jp homage to Cyberpunk + Horror Scifi genre that began and mainstreamed in Japan manga&storylines in late 80s-90s,eg. Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Evangelion, Gundam, etc. The creators are actually legends of the high arts.
Let me apologize before I start rambling on a bit... Being a MY as well as member of the ALPHAZ, I find anytime a reactor brings up aespa's visuals in comparison with XG to be quite a compliment for both groups since it means that they too are being heard as well as seen. It's wonderful to hear everyone embrace their favorite music artists and not immediately become defensive like how most K-Pop stans are known for. Music is a way to release your emotions an accompanying that with an MV is the cherry on top since not every song one hears is fortunate enough to have a story unfold before there very eyes.
I think both groups chose a unique concept, and it will be interesting in a few years time if it picks up more kind of like girl crush. We live in a good time for Kpop
I agree with what you are saying but you are trying to talk to the wrong people about it. Don't put all that on the groups, idols, soloists, etc, there's only just so much they are even allowed to do. The idols, soloists, actors, what-have-you really don't have enough power behind them to voice this stuff to those who actually make those decisions. Talk to the Execs and the moneymen of the companies about upping the production, that's where those decisions are really made.
