you could turn the projector upside-down to have it more aligned and with less distortion

Great upload!! Genuinely not an advert for Xgimi. A true review, thanks. My Epson CO FH 02, costs 1/3 price is clearly a lot brighter. Daylight usable. I have Xgimi mogo 2, it was cheap, it's very good, probably too good as I don't think I'll go for the 4k version. Maybe if price goes down.

Hi. Just wondering if you have to give the projector back after you make the review video?
@ModernDayTech
@ModernDayTech 10 месяцев назад
No, they haven't asked for it back, but if they did, they can send me prepaid label. BTW: I wasn't paid a dime. I can't speak for others, but I don't do sponsored content. Althought they did send a review unit to me which I have to pay income tax on the value, so its actually money out of my pocket. I have the XGIMI Elfin Mini Projector, and it uses, as I've unfortunately found out, that it uses a bluetooth connection to work the remote. I realized this after I got the Aqara M2 Hub hoping that I could add it to Homekit scenes with the IR blaster, but that was definitely not the case. Is the Horizon Ultra also this way, or does this one have an IR connection?
@ModernDayTech
@ModernDayTech Год назад
Unfortunately, it is Bluetooth still. You can have on/off control in apple home via a switchbot. Have you tried or played with any of the XGIMI homebridge plug-ins?
@DanJaeSmith
@DanJaeSmith Год назад
@@ModernDayTech I looked into a switchbot button presser but haven't pulled the trigger on having to buy more accessories just to integrate an ON/OFF switch into homekit. And homebridge seems too technical. Do I have to have an always-on Raspberry Pi computer?
@ModernDayTech
@ModernDayTech Год назад
@@DanJaeSmith Yeah I understand the switchbot needs the switchbot hub2 for hk. Plus it's only for on and off at which point, for on, it is cool but not really needed since you in that room already or about to be, and off is nice if you step away thinking you're coming back but end up not coming back, or when your kids leave it on. I also have my projector synced with my motorized screen so it open/closed when the projector turns off/on. (Thats the little dongle that's sticking out my projector seen in some scenes in this video) Homebridge can be technical but it depends on the plugin. Many are super easy and well designed but some are not. There are 3differnt xgimi plugins and I wasn't able to get any of them to work so I was just curious if you have tried them. Yes, homebridge needs a computer, pi, or nas like synology, to always be on.

Hey, first of all thanks for the video... I have the predecessor "Horizon Pro". Is it worth upgrading? 😊 bye 🖐️
@ModernDayTech
@ModernDayTech Год назад
Your're very welcome. Thanks for watching! I don't have the Pro but comparing specs, which I don't like doing, cause I think it really comes down to the user experence. Spec wise, it has brighter lumens and better colors/blacks which I think the average person wouldn't notice (unless specfically looking for and they are side by side). So if you are one of those people that notices things like that, they yes, it will be worth it, but if it's something that doesn't bother you now, then you shouldn't. The motorized lens cover is also very very cool.

Hi, can the projector go to 300 inch ? Thanks
@ModernDayTech
@ModernDayTech 11 месяцев назад
For the best viewing experience. they recommend using a projection size of 60-120 inches. But the specs say up to 200".

iPhone screen mirroring is crap outside of any Apple device. I’ve tried many androidTV apps, none was neat. Gotta stick to AppleTV (and a good wifi) for a pleasant experience.

I don't remember how we got that but we actually have to real dogs that are about that size too so it sometime catches me off guard and freaks me out cause I think its real.

Wrong screen to make the claim that daylight makes a tv the better choice. High contrast fresnel lens screens are $200 now making them just as usable as a led tv... especially if your TV has glares and reflections from windows.
