I LOVE their verb for snoring because it’s so representative of what language truly is: a way to vocalize sounds we hear all the time. The Xhosa word for snoring sounds like someone snoring; so simple but so astute and amazing
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus Christ loves you so much that He died for your sins and rose from the dead. If you repent from evil ways, believe that Jesus has paid the fine for your sins on the cross and confess Him as your Lord, you will be saved. You see, we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, that's why Jesus Christ, fullness of Godhead bodily, lived a perfect life, fulfilled the prophecies and law, shed His Blood at the cross just so you could be forgiven, reconciled back to the Father, receive God's love, be made a new creation, whole, sanctified. It's not about religion and what good works you can do to earn salvation, it's only by grace through faith in the finished works of Jesus Christ. Read God's Word, preferably start with Gospel of John, pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you, give you wisdom and revelation that way you're born again and see your life changed by the Spirit of the Most High. Much love and God bless you!
Indeed. I have heard this language for the first time evr today. Sounds amazing. There should be more resources online for learners of African languages.

@@kingayy9267 I mean like it’s not as mainstream as some other languages. You always hear about how people love Spanish, French, Italian, etc. but Xhosa, I just love how musical it is. There are some people who haven’t even heard of this language

One of my customers needed a written translation into this language. It is hard finding linguists. I wish I could speak it! Take the opportunity to learn the language of your roots! ;-)
South Africa was colonised by the British and the Dutch. That is where the English language comes from. Then the Afrikaans (which was "Africanised" Dutch came from)

acho ambas as pronúncias complicadas, mas sei lá, a árabe, ao meu ver, consegue ser mais complicada, talvez porque eu fale uma língua diferente da sua.

Xhosa is the most beautiful language ever. Wait. Besides the Khoi languages lol. Those clicks...love it. I'm American and I learned the click consonants in 3 months
Xhosa is a mixture of Zulu and khoi language. They married one another . Zulu has some of the words from khoi , and Zulu is from the undiluted old Swahili before the Arabs landed on the East of Africa.
@@TnboinChi45 yes . It is Nguni , the name of the tribe is AbaNguni. They are named after their revered King Mguni who migrated South east of Africa . Covering Mozambique ,Swaziland (Eswatini) to the Cape coast of the Republic of South Africa. They came accros many tribes of the Khoisans ( pref: Khoekhoe ) . It seems like they had a covenant with a group that migrated from Cameroon to Congo called Batswana and migrated together . Zulus went south east Batswana went South west . DNA results show they inter married at some point earlier. Well we still get along and still get fascinated about our different cultures, and how they evolve with time . Recently I was attending a wedding a Zulu guy marrying Motswana . I rocked my Sesotho Blancket .
I'm a native English speaker in North America, and I can't even attempt to do those clicks justice. Regardless, it was beautiful to properly hear a language from half a world away.
My english teacher was from South Africa, she used to talk about her language too. The language is super weird but in a good way, it's so funny i wish i could speak too 😀
Plataforma DUOLINGO vai ensinar Xhosa a partir de 2022. Se estava difícil aprender o inglês, segura essa então... 😂😂😂 Parece ser um idioma muito interessante!
Chris Case Miriam Makeba would be the first, she is how I discovered the language. The click song was the first I learned. The Xhosa people I quite enjoy as well. Those are the two I could find recordings of, sometimes on RU-vid it’s hard to make out because of audio. Otherwise just search Xhosa music on RU-vid. Hope this helps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YlocO29uud4.html
Now that's something I'd take a big while to learn. The linguistic centers in my brain have been trained in what is weirdly called a 'Western Romance' language, namely, Portuguese. It has very different phonemes!
Unfortunately they are mostly in South Africa, concentrated mostly in a province called the Eastern Cape. Visit Gqeberha , formerly known as Port Elizabeth.
This is so interesting! I'm so obsessed.& I can't stop laughing! Why is that little boy peeking around the corner like that? Anybody else catch it? Hilarious. How do u say stop peeking little boy? Click clock clack😂😂❤️
Russians use all these sounds as an expression quite a lot but not in the words, more like onomatopoeia or description of emotion. Letter "P"-sound for opening a bottle or bursting bubble or a loss. Letter "C" a sound of a misfortune, disappointment or being annoyed. Letter "Q" horse galloping or vulgar flirting. Letter "x" is an expression of lucky, flirting disbelieve/surprise. We also have the combined "RH" for a sound of a refusal and emotion of being ofended. "HL"- imitation of a child voice or a drunken slurred speech. I just tried using them in words and nailed it after a couple of tries. Just had to be conscientious, though. 😁
@BL00D for PRIDE enjoy . My father is Xhosa but I speak and understand little . I think they were supposed to drift to Australia when the continents drifted apart millions of years ago . They are so strange . Sorry we are strange .
