I'm didn't say Xian is boring or anything along those lines. I do agree with you but you're coming at me too hard. So, I'm sorry if I somehow offended you.
Sako. Best Ibuki and Evil Ryu. Sako completely changed the way BOTH of these characters need to be played at high level to be successful. Totally underrated player. To make a top player "mash" is pretty outstanding as well. My favorite player.
I always think Sako is the the best player in terms of pure skills, and this tourney proved it. His problem was he couldn't play well outside of Japan though. This win is big for him. Also congrats tp Xian as well, despite this loss, he's still the No.1 street fighter player in the last two years.
skarrface91 Hi, yep I agree but there was something wrong in this fight, I can't explain it but Xian seemed slow on reaction and to conservative on his gameplay (considering the type of play you have to put on against characters like evil ryu or such) :s although very good domination from Sako ;) can't wait for evo.
Sako is such a rare player, he’s very flashy, fundamentals are strong, and he respects the game. Here he is in another country yet The crowd is chanting Sako! I love this Guy! Truly inspirational!!!
Eventhough i really like Xian, seeing Sako win a major tournament for once is great. Hope to see him go out to even more tournaments and win everything.
Jotaro kujo I didn't forget about that one, though i did forget about mentioning i mainly referred to american tournaments. No doubt Topanga A leaque is probably the hardest one to win, because of its players but also the way it is setup.
Xian has made it to the Capcom Cup grandfinals twice - a great accomplishment. It's a bit disheartening to see him foiled each time. I'm a bit torn since I'm also a fan of Sako and Momochi. To those commenting on Evil Ryu chucking too many fireballs - if your character has ranged tools, you have to make use of them to irritate the opponent AND and force them to make risky plays just so they can get in. You can then punish with longer (and flashier) combos afterwards (just like Sako does in this vid if you watch and wait). A ranger is a ranger because he/she has a bow and a sword and uses both depending on how far he/she is from the opponent. The Shoto characters in Street Fighter are basically the equivalent of a ranger class in something like, say, Skyrim.
+Mister Suave Gen can certainly win those matchups. If you don't think so then you don't understand the game very well. The problem is not the characters, it's the players behind them. Daigo has been Xian's demon for a long long time now. I'm not going into crazy details here, but i'm sick of people whining that it's an awful matchup for gen when it's not even that bad. With the Xian it's also a bad player matchup.
Wow you aint wrong, thats a lot of money! I saw the final and the check said 120 on it but i just checked now and mike ross literally said "ignore the check its lies"
I'll never understand why you guys Upload the Grand Finals first. For those of us that missed stream, huge spoilers, even knowing who made it that far.
because people that didn't watch the WHOLE event and want to WILL. those that just want finals come to these videos because they don't want to see the rest of the matches. pretty base logic
troyism Stream archive was not available outside of subscribers. So anyone who missed these games (like me) had to wait for them to be uploaded here. So checking here completely ruins the suspense of who will win when they upload the grand finals first and it's the first thing you see when you check to see if the matches were uploaded yet.
Sako's always been certifiably godlike. Glad he took Capcom Cup, and even more glad he did it being stylish as hell with a character that gets slept on way too much.
Since I saw other Sako's gameplays on RU-vid, I knew he was gonna be on top in any of the world tournaments. His E.Ryu is a fucking beast. I always enjoy watching him play.
I think not .. Substract merit to Sako for that reason is a stupidity, it's almost like underestimate Xian, and we all know he won a tournament in an incredible performance with Gen, defeating every who fought with him. Even, he gave a kick in the ass to Tokido (3-0) in the grand final, a AKUMA PLAYER.
EyeOfTheMind86 Don't the system changes in Ultra now make her vortex not work as well anymore if at all? Are there any Ibuki players still active for USF4?
Well i just wanted to tell you that Sako is well known for his use of no-shoto chars (Cammy - Ibuki). Evil Ryu is just his last pick up, probably chosen for his infinite that he can do (obviously p-linking with select button) XD However i think Sako will stick with Evil Ryu. I noticed how his sweep became faster and it can be a major boost for this char
Holy shit! There are clear levels to this, I saw a bunch of videos of Xian's Gen beating everybody and Sako beats him 3-0 with a perfect on one round! Geeze!
I really like watching Hori Sako as i didn't know a lot about him until a couple months back. He' destroyed Xian there, Xian looked a beaten man whenever the camera was on him.
Bret Martin The only changes in Ultra were a slight (50 points) health increase and a slight buff on forward MK. They're almost the same, and professional players like Daigo and Sako rate both as Top tier. You are a fucking idiot, and you probably don't play E. Ryu, or even Street Fighter.
i remember someone once said that evil ryu will probably never see tournament play because of his low heath and because it's easy to stun him. that's probably why he is a low tier character. i think regular ryu is medium tier, but i'm not sure.
MaleficBladeWarrior really? it's because of his health? o_O i mean, doesn't akuma have low health? or say in a game like umvc3, doesn't zero have low health?
thumper3662 Zero has low health, but high mobility. Also, he can kill a hero with just one combo. You could think that Akuma is SF4's Zero: High mobility but low health. However, E.Ruy doesn't have the mobility of Akuma. Instead, E.Ryu's damage is higher. So you trade health for more damage, making him a high risk/high reward character.
KennEH huh, i didn't see the word "this" in your original post. funny, cause i'm guessing SlownStyle didn't either. well then, i'll have to take what i said back.
+javier gill Sako drops a lot of combos from time to time.. and he makes execution errors.. Daigo is undoubtedly the best with evil ryu.. he pretty much gets a raging demon every time he has a full super bar!
