It baffles me immensely that Chase keeps promises outside of Showdowns (where you're literally cosmically bound) when he's evil. "Honor" makes no sense for the"evil" side. Like I've said before: Evil is treated more like a club in this series which is why I love it so much.
Chase has "good" in him despite being on the heylin side just like the monks have bad in them. Raimundo and Omi turned to the heylin side. Wuya honored her promise to Raimundo when she took over the world when she really didn't need him any more. Its like yin and yang, each side has a little bit of the other side inside them.
Maybe it's like Dungeons and Dragons, where there is a different between morality (Good, Neutral, and Evil), and ethics (Lawful, Neutral, Chaotic). Chase young is "Lawful Evil", since he has evil goals but he pursued them through honorable and straightforward means (whereas someone like Raimundo is "Chaotic Good" since he has good goals but pursues then through sneaky and tricky means).
I heard in Xiaolin Chronicles they got rid of all of the non-Canadian actors so that's why they only had Omi and Katnappe with the same actresses and had to change everyone else
Chase was always my favorite character. Yes he is on the heilyn side but there are times he does help the monks (mainly omi) especially on his martial art skills. What I admire most about him is he still has his honor even after being drained from the soup he drank. When spicer trapped chase in the spere of yun and attack the temple relentlessly unexpected to the point where master fung stepped in to save his fellow apprentices kimono pointed out "those cats are too much when the jungle cats were under chase control he wouldn't have shown up unexpected and attacked us like that." Which is true due to his honor, behavior plus chase had other plans.
There actually is a bit of fridge horror when Chase tells Omi that he used the Reversing Mirror to show Omi how good would be destroyed in the event Omi broke his word. Since Omi said he did 'peek' when they were finding the solution to their spider problem in 'Dangerous Minds.' Technically. One can argue the spiders weren't stopped. Or perhaps *preserved* when the lava came through. So chances are they may come back at some point.
I still think if there were more seasons, Chase could be overthrown by Hannibal Bean and he fights alongside the monks and changes back to good after a series finale battle lasting 2-3 episodes.
one thing I don't get, if chase use the reversing mirror when omi saw how to destroy evil, then wouldn't the other secrets would have been reversed too, even how to defeat the spiders?
I think he did it when omi asked that particular question and plus chase might be that powerful to manipulate the Shen Wong wu like he did for woo yeah
The reversing mirror reverses the power of its targets not the whole area. You need to point the mirror at a target in order to make its effect. So in other words all the other information from the fountain of hui and eagle scope were regular but the information on how to destroy evil was reversed because it was Chase's target
Even with his fall to evil, Chase Young still fights for good even if he must fight against it as well, after all how can good keep getting stronger without a strong opponent to fight against
6:06 For someone who wants to plunge the world into eternal darkness, dude was very concerned about the evil of Hannibal Roy Bean. And then immediately after, brushed him off like he was nothing to Chase's power
9:34 Chase: Wtf O.o 5:46 I never noticed that before, YingYing was with him and landed on 'Clay' that's how Chase knew it was Hannibal Bean, i thought he could just sense it was him.
I feel like the reason they kept saying "evil" and good so much was because kids weren't as smart back then and they needed to remind them that chase young was still the bad guy to simplify things
If chase young knew that Omi breaking his promise would have destroyed good instead of evil, why didn't he encourage Omi to break his promise and leave before turning Omi into a cat?
@@blaiktrout376 I guess, it just seems a bit out of character for Chase that if he knew the secret to destroying good he would have taken it rather than having omi as a cat but I'm probably overthinking it.
That scenario was probably a back up plan but Chase didn't rely on that since Omi does have a sence of honor and would never break his word. Keep in mind, Chase has observed Omi enough to where he knew Omi wouldn't do it along with the fact that he wanted Omi by his side above all else and maybe a plan like that would have interfered with that. Plus, assuming he saw what Omi saw chances are Chase would probably still get the short end of the stick depending on what it would take to destroy good.
@@shadowwriter4538 But why have the reversing mirror at all if he knew Omi would not break his word? It just doesn't make sense to have a backup plan if he was certain that Omi wouldn't break his word. I guess he wanted Omi by his side but the main reason was always because he knew Omi would grow powerful enough to defeat him one day so he wanted to make him evil before then. I just don't think Chase would give up the opportunity for good to be destroyed just so he could have Omi by his side. I guess but there's no way to know if chase would have gotten the short end of the stick, so it's really speculative as would else would need to happen for good to be destroyed. But I guess my main issue is that a villain obsessed with world domination like chase wouldn't give up the opportunity to destroy good forever just to have Omi by his side. In my opinion I just don't think Chase would choose having Omi by his side instead of destroying good.
He thinks shen Gong wu are mere tools and I personally think he is the type to put skill growth above actual wins, he doesn't care for Empty victories, it's no victories when you had to cheat your way. He want his fights to be meaningful and challenging
