You got to be kidding me. I can't believe this worked. I was trying other methods such as leaving mine in the refrigerator overnight which did nothing but after thoroughly cleaning the contacts, the charging light showed up when I reconnected it. Thank you!
It works! I wasn't using my mi band 3 for a month and so when I actually tried charging it a month later, it wasn't charging. I used this method and it worked like a charm!

My friend, it will work on all of them. It is a problem of particles settling on the charging port of the bands, nothing else. That is why it will work on ki band 1,2,3 cause all have same kind of charging ports.

Ordered two of these from GearBest. Both arrived dead - they do not accept a charge. GearBest only offered a 50% refund through paypal. I declined the offer and now they want them returned to china or whereever at my expense. NEVER AGAIN GEARBEST
I also ordered two from GearBest and the same happened to me. But then I left them plugged in with no signs of life and after 4 hours LEDs started blinking. I think they got critically discharged during transport (or storage), which is not good for lithium batteries. Regarding GearBest technical support...they tried this bullshit 50% refund before, but if you are firm and explain them that this is unacceptable, they always do the right thing (at least they did in my case).

Right on the money! Thank you. I gave my Mi Band 3 to my partner, as she didn't have a good fitness tracker, and as I just bought a Mi Band 4. We left it charging: not. Now it really is charging :)
