This is the phone most people need. I see a lot of people who know nothing about tech buying expensive phones and they don't even know what features they have. Phones like this cover almost every person. Expensive phones are for enthusiast who want to have the latest features and don't care about the price.

Cheap phone are great now, for everyday use redmi note series is very adequate, i see no advantage of using high end phone, for camera i use my canon, for gaming i use my pc, i dont need high end spec and high end camera in a phone

The only good apple was the brick level knock a person out typa phone that was the 3/3s/4, anything after that was just not stronk or compact enough to bother buying. And I know the whole debate about security and all that but android is so stupid simple to use, its damn near addicting. Add to that reasonable pricing and you just got yourself lifelong customers.

Security is a big issue for many, just look at the snapdragon security risk they recently found. In the end, it depends on preference, bith Samsung and Iphone are overpriced.

i bought it a week ago, honestly, im actually surprised, had a samsung s20, returned it, i like the redmi note 9 pro more. Good camera, love the big screen, battery is good, i rly dont have anything to complain about. Altho im a casual phone user so to speak. I basically take some casual pictures, watch youtube etc, its all i need for a good value.

I've been using this phone (actually the global version Redmi Note 9S) for about 2 months now and I'm really happy with it. I was used to having a 5000mAh battery in my last phone so it was nice to find one with decent processor. But my biggest surprise was the cameras. It just takes really good pictures. Edit: 2 months later and I'm still loving this phone. The battery, processor, and memory have gotten me spoiled. I don't know how other people can get by with a smaller battery. I suppose it's a good fit for me.

You are definitely correct, I went from an I-Phone 7 Plus to this phone ! Honestly I truly believe it’s just as good as the MUCH HIGHER PRICED I-PHONE except I saved almost $4:50 U S DOLLARS! I live in Mexico & that’s the equivalent of 2 mnths rent in my Beautiful fully furnished 1 bdrm apartment ! Plus I truly like it better! I paid $2;50 U S DOLLARS ON AMAZON MEXICO, was delivered in 48 hrs! Merry Christmas to All of You ! Sitting pretty in México after living & working in Maui Hawai for 20 years, what I would pay for a room there I can live all mnth on ! I’m a good cook so All the meat , chicken & fish are all 100% organic! Left the corruption of the mainland U S over 30 years ago! As a generally technology illiterate mobile phone hating grunt, I appreciate the stupid simple dummy level breakdown of things, for real. I use about 4-5 of the million apps that come in a phone and don't see the point in having all that extra phone stuff. And no, I ain't got no thousand dollars for a goddamn me myself and iphone neither. This thing seems like a nice new shiny toy I can get and use for the next 10 years or until the software outgrows the hardware or whatever and at about 300 bucks, I'm not even gonna bother looking for other options, all the tech specs just give me a headache. Thanks for making this review, Tech Chap, you made life a little bit easier.

Watching this from my brand new Redmi Note 9 Pro. From my Redmi Note 5 Pro is quite the leap. Feels heavier (I blame the battery size for the added weight) but not as fragile. I agree with the fact that it feels slippery, good thing Xiaomi shipped it with a free clear cover. The notch takes a bit to get used to (I'm used to phones with a thick forehead and chin) and in brighter screen shows a worrying shade of black surrounding the lens frame. So far it seems like a good mid-range, getting closer to a "flagship" feeling than the previous models. All in all, a phone worth the 300€ spent (bought in a brick-and-mortar electronics shop).

Need a more positive sounding word than "budget phone" "Essential phone" is taken and imo still associated with that company that got unpopular in recent history Something that feels a notch higher than "Value Phone" would be good otherwise that may have to do. Edit: saw that host said value phone also and it did not sound like it was derogatory towards the note 9 pro......i feel more justified in support of "value phone" now

Great video. Seeing this phone is making me think why on earth I pay so much for a Flagship such as the S20Ultra when this phone does so much for a small price tag! I reckon you have made an excellent choice. I'm still running my Note 4 and have no plans to upgrade until either it dies, or the battery capacity starts to drop. It's 3 + years old and I still only charge it every other day. Xiaomi are great :)

switching to this from a samsung phone boii it great to do daily stuff without carrying powerbank all the time my old samsung always dies when the battery reach 40% . but with note 9s it get the opposite, the battery last super long, even at 20% so i just charge my phone before lunch and i get full charge in around 1 h 40 min which last for 2 days

1. The front selfie camera seems very zoomed in. 2. Hotspot has 5ghz band. 3. Sound is very good, Spotify on full volume sounds fantastic. 4. It comes with a rubbery case.

This phone has a lot of impressive features esp. the camera and the battery life. Don't see the need to go for higher end models. 5G can't compete with wifi in terms of affordability. Don't care about high refresh rates as am not into that sort of games.

This is my first Xiaomi phone. I never had a phone that I had to figure out how to hold it to be able to hear a caller. All these reviews cover cameras and such, but not on the phone portion. Did we buy a camera with a phone in it or did we buy a damn phone

I figured it out. In the settings, the balance is set in the middle between left and right. Why? This is a mono speaker, no right and left channel. I moved the marker all the way to the right. Now I can hear the person I talk with. This should have been covered in the reviews. Hope this helps

I've owned a Redmi 8A for nearly 2 years & it doesn't disappoint. Has an HD camera that takes amazing pics indoors & outdoors. Plays amazing games that are built in, also can download from Google play store. Has a very clear sound speakers for music as I use a Deezer app. I don't think I'll buy another brand again. Xiaomi is exiting while other brands are boring. The ads can be muted, if you know how to unbloat. Best in its class, above average in the mid range smartphones. (Better than BBK Electronics: Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Realme)

Hi Tom. Might I suggest the Realme 6 which is the evident competitor to the Note 9 Pro. A few key specs are 1. MTK G90T 2. 6.5 Inch FHD+ display with 90Hz 3. 4300Mah+30W charging 4. 64+8+2+2 camera setup

Believe me, I owned Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and using from last 1 week, its very smooth,SD 720 work like a gem, 64 MP Camera was phenomenal. Overall a good Budget Flagship phone.

I must say prefer the Samsung ones because of the camera quality, gesture Look, and design over all, oled display Only things for me going against Samsung is backside (i use a chunky case) and battery though it isnt bad over all

I own a Redmi 8A for 2 years now. It's a great phone & plays games amazingly. The camera takes beautiful HD pics. Next time I'm going to get the Xiaomi Pro9. Xiaomi is up there with the expensive brands. I don't think I'll buy another brand again.

I've had mine for a fortnight, £200 from Amazon UK. The first one was faulty, it set up fine but every time it went to sleep it switched itself off and had to be rebooted. Second phone has been great, no issues at all. Now waiting for MIUI 12 for a bit of extra eye candy.

PANJI 12 okay for a like $20 extra you can get the k20 pro extra that shits all over the redmi note pro 9 and the k20 itself is more or less the same as the redmi note 9 and is better in value. Lcd screen is a deal breaker no matter how good the specs are.

I own this phone, it is really a great phone. However, For some unknown reasons, The quality of song recording on starmaker app is ridiculously hampered through my new Redmi Note 9 Pro. Previously I was using OPPO F9 which produced excellent results on starmaker

This is definitely the best budget phone right now, bought one and im stunned how good it performs. Camera is really good, lightning fast app switching, great screen size, battery life is amazing, i got a day and a half heavy use without charge. I mean why pay fuckin 1300 for a flagship phone, when you can get this one for 1/10th of the price and keep buying xiaomi's new phones when they get released.
