For me it's compelling that it packs features like AMOLED screen with autobrightness, into such a small form factor, with a wide range of different straps, all for an affordable price.

I love how we have a much more possibilities to use Xiaomi Mi Band 8, looking forward probably to buy one when it launches to Germany. Favorite is to use it as a watch with long lasting battery as I have Galaxy Watch 4 Classic LTE... every 18h needs to be chraged, it packs a lot of future but 90% of them will not be used by a standard user. 😊 It's been a while since I follow you over 1+ year now and ever since I didn't regret at all that I follow your RU-vid Channel cuz' vid's are amazing. 😊 Greetings from Germamy. I found this on mi website: *The band display must to be oriented towards you when attaching the Running Clip. Incorrect orientation will affect the accuracy of the data.* So the top of the watch facing forward?

I use my Mi smartband in combination with home assistant to get notifications on my watch. My son his Miband 5 just broke down so would be a great addition to give him a new one and also make use of all great goodies the smartband 8 has!! Thnx Martijn for a nother good vid :)

The frame is actually plastic with a metal look. Seems to be durable so far.

Hey, Thank you for your Review it was filled with a lot of information. The 60hz Display is a great Upgrade and hopefully it will be super smooth. But to be honest the most awesome feature are the new jogging features!!! I never heard from a Smartband collecting so much Information to optimize your run. Just Awsome. I really need to get one of these.... :D

Great video! My favourite features is that you can now put the band on your foot. That's fascinating and it will help me a lot (i am a runner). Oh man.. I could really use this watch. My Mi Band 6 doesn't react to the touch input anymore, so can only see the time with raise to wake 😅 Best watch I ever owned because of its simplicity and size. Also the Notify app is amazing for tracking my sports (table tennis and kickboxing). Fingers crossed! 😊 (touch stopped functioning after swimming and water got in the case.. I've been showering and swimming with it daily since day one, though. It held up great all things considered. Friend of mine had the same issue. Hope the 8 has better water proofing.)

The screen looks really awesome and the auto brightness is such a plus. But to be honest the band has such a non intrusive design that it’s just so seamless to use either day to day or for fitness so the new way to connect the bands is really cool. Thanks for the great content ✌️

I think the bigger battery and screen being a bit brighter and bigger is hugely beneficial, as microchips improve they are more efficient and them having added some new features such as the battery indicator is gold to knowing if the device is intended or not, the new system of clipping the straps to the band is also a much needed upgrade, those small pins which u needed to attach the band to the chassis was a horrible mechanism and it caused quite often that the wristband would get loose and loose the pin and unable to wear the band. As someone who had the smart band 6 for a long time and it being broken and dying for a replacement as the whole product gives valueable information, I think these upgrades are definitely worth it and will definitely would want one, a good birthday gift I would say so!
