My question is, if we are ignoring sync packets, when is the pi synced? Does it only sync at the start of the next playlist? what about for a playlist of playlists? This would indicate we should keep playlists short. Does it sync at the start of the next sequence in a playlist? This would indicate we don't need to worry about how long our playlist is.
It gets the play sequence ie video command. It ignores the sync to x seconds that flood it. It would be in sync after each sequence if it drifts at all. Experience says it doesn't drift at all with a capable projector pi.
@@darylerwinWow, thanks for such a prompt response - I've had a lot of trouble getting this answer on Reddit and the Discord chat. If I can impose, I have another projector question. I have an Epson EX7240, which has the unusual resolution of WXGA (1280x800). Would I be better off to tell the pi to output video at that resolution, or let the projector take care of that. I want to minimize black bars on the video. Thanks again, very informative video!
@@dennisconklin1870 We have seen good success when you force hdmi resolution to be the native resolution. So in the fpp settings - give it a try. See if there is a resolution that will match that. If it doesnt work often you will see the black bars across the top or sides - ie cropping.
