If anyone has ANY doubts about using this program in the US in turf for finding coins you didn’t even know were there before…USE IT! This setup is kicking the SHIT out of my sites that were ALL burnt up using my FBS machines for YEARS. This machine is flat out UNBELIEVABLE. Hi DeWayne!😎

Hey thanks Kevin! I’m just thrilled to see the great results you’ve been getting with this D2. It’s basically a confirmation for me. I was beginning to think maybe I was only finding all these coins because I just sucked at using my other detectors. But now that I see you’re getting the same results, I can rest easy knowing that the Deus 2 is just a kickass metal detector!

Thanks Michael! I agree, it’s light years ahead of the original Deus on both depth and ID. What impresses me the most is how deep it can reach with just a 9” coil. It’s deeper than most of my other machines wearing 11” coils.

Something else I thought of if you don't mind me adding! If the coins are not quite as deep as shown here perhaps you could lower your gain down to 60 or 70 to get that distinctive sound you're after. Just a thought. Nice digs buddy.
@MetalDetectingNWGA
@MetalDetectingNWGA Год назад
Thanks man! Yep, you can certainly adjust your gain to get that “zip zip” sound at whatever depth you prefer. I love how pitch is able to instantly give you a good idea of depth. Much like a low audio response setting, but even better IMO. Makes it super easy to skip the shallow clad and go for the deeper older stuff. Love this machine! How are you liking yours?

I’ve been using your other program that finds coins in modern trash, and love it! It works great in curb strips. I’m going to try the silver slayer, but I have a question - how do you distinguish between silver coins and their clad counterparts, since the TIDs are the same or very similar?
@MetalDetectingNWGA
@MetalDetectingNWGA 2 года назад
Hi! Its very difficult to distinguish clad from silver based on the ID alone. All things being perfect, silver would read about a digit higher, but the problem is that if its slightly worn or the soil is a little wonky, it can read just like clad. The best way I've found to tell silver from clad is gauging by the depth. When I first arrive at a new site, I'll dig several coin signals at varying depths to get an idea of how deep the older coins are running. Then I have a pretty good idea of where the silver/clad depth line is. If I'm finding wheats at 5", then any dime or quarter signal at 5" or deeper has a very good chance of being silver. That's how I predicted the silver dime in this video. Good luck and HH!

My deepest coin Deus 2 program is Mono 13kHz ..... I am still learning how to use Deus 2 ... and I will try your program. Iv tested Nokta Simplex vs Deus 2, and Deus 2 Mono 13kHz outperforms Nokta by 3 inches
@MetalDetectingNWGA
@MetalDetectingNWGA Год назад
Are you looking for low conductors or high conductors? For max depth on low conductors, try a higher weighted frequency program (ie Fast), and a lower weighted program for high conductors (Deep HC). Or if you prefer Mono, same thing. Low frequency for high conductors, high for low. Next, drop the recovery speed as low as the site allows and swing slow. Sensitivity as high as the site allows. Those things will maximize your depth on the Deus 2. You may already be familiar with these things, but posting just in case. Good luck!

Hey Rattle. Have are you still using this program? Have you made any adjustments for the 2.0 update? For reference I'm using 2.0. I have the exact specs as a saved program and tinker with it dependant on the ground conditions I expect. Today I lowered reactivity to 1 and volume response to 2 so I could cherry pick deeper targets. I'm using the 9" coil. Found a single mercury dime but. It was a very iffy signal at a very slow swing speed, what I refer to as Painting the Fence. That merc was showing a VDI of 97/99 at 7" of depth. Have you come across this phenomenon? With a dime at 97/99, I'm curious where the heck a quarter or half has room to been seen and sound/vdi to be given. Just curious your opinion, and or experience?
@MetalDetectingNWGA
@MetalDetectingNWGA 14 дней назад
Hey man! Yes I still use the SS program occasionally for cherry picking silver. Version 2.0 does require a few tweaks to work well. I listed them in the description and pinned them in the comments. Unless a site is loaded with trash or iron, I almost always try to get away with a reactivity of 1. I usually can. I have seen silver and even copper pennies up-average way up into the higher 90s. Not sure what causes it but I'm glad its upaveraging instead of down averaging. I'm digging any coin sized signal in the 90s no matter what.

Question for you sir. What is the reason to hear iron when we we want high conductors. A guess on my part would be to learn what nails are sounding some what like coins and avoiding them?
@MetalDetectingNWGA
@MetalDetectingNWGA 2 года назад
Hi Steve. I like to hear the iron because generally when you start hearing iron grunts, it means you're in an area where people used to gather and spend some time. In those areas you'll want to slow down and listen closely. When I go to a new site, I'll sort of wander around until I start hearing some iron, then I'll slow down and start grid searching that area. Of course, this is all personal preference. You can turn iron volume down or off if you like.
@Delprete2
@Delprete2 2 года назад
I wonder would it go even deeper if I took the Deep HC program then set it up with the Slayer tweaks?
@MetalDetectingNWGA
@MetalDetectingNWGA 2 года назад
Hey Steve, yes you could use these same settings in Deep HC. I think the TID is slightly different in that program due to the lower frequency set, so you’d probably need to make some minor tweaks to what’s notched out. You should hit those high conductors a little deeper with Deep HC, but you’d give up a little of the ability to hit coins on edge, and maybe a little less separation. Pitch just seems to run smoother with the higher frequency set to me. When I run Deep HC, I prefer multi tones. You might like it with pitch though. Worth a try!

Yep. I haven’t gotten a single new permission since getting the D2. All of the places I’ve been hunting are public property, most have already been detected for years. It’s going very well! Got silvers #44 & 45 this morning from an old school that has been hunted heavily. I’m definitely impressed with the D2. It has taken over the role as my primary detector.

I have been hunting 1850s home sites. I almost never find silver coins. If I use this program, will I miss other old relics? What suggestions do you have for me? Thanks.
@MetalDetectingNWGA
@MetalDetectingNWGA Год назад
Hey Mike. This program is designed to go into trashy places and quickly snipe silver coins while ignoring most trash items. As you know, it’s a trade off.. If you skip items outside the silver range you’ll also be missing some good targets that fall outside that range. If you want to find more coins and relics that fall below the silver range, you could just lower that second notch to something like 65-78. That’ll get you a lot more relics and lower conductive coins like IHPs. You’ll dig more junk targets as well, but that’s the trade off. Another option is to cherry pick the silver targets with Silver Slayer, then go back and hunt the area again with less discrimination. Good luck!
@mikedevries4157
@mikedevries4157 Год назад
@@MetalDetectingNWGA what program do you use when detecting 1800s sites?
@MetalDetectingNWGA
@MetalDetectingNWGA Год назад
@@mikedevries4157 it really depends on the site. How much it’s been hunted and what kind of targets I expect to find there. If it’s a really early or hard hit site, I’ll run something based off of fast with everything above 58 accepted. I set the reactivity based on the target density. On an old site that’s blanketed with nails and has been picked over, I may just disc to 6.8 and dig any non ferrous that comes in above that. If I’m just coin shooting, I generally run two notches. One from 7-58 and another from 65-78. That’ll get nickels and most other US coins, along with a lot of relics. It’s a good compromise for the times I don’t want to dig a lot of trash.
@mikedevries4157
@mikedevries4157 Год назад
@@MetalDetectingNWGA thanks so much. Most of the places I’m finding to hunt have never been detected before. I usually use Fast or a variation of the HC deep. I’m definitely gonna give your SS tweeked program a try. Everybody wants coins including me. Thanks again.
