This is a short video outlining proper installation of XPEL's headlight protection film. The film protects headlights from the elements (sandblasting caused by rocks, road salt, debris and sand). I installed xpel on my car 5 years ago. Headlights STILL look new after being daily driven as well as several track days.

Piece of cake if you have a heat gun and use it on low. Followed the directions on the video and it took less than 30 minutes. Looks great! Can't tell they are on my Mercedes SL500. Can't wait to try their other products.

I ordered a kit for my 2009 BMW e93 headlight to replace the crappy thin invisishield version...I got it today and to my disappointment, they sent me the same exact crappy thin film. No xpel logo, no brown backing paper, just the same crap plain white super thin film that I am replacing. WTF.... I only order from them because I installed a thick ass headlight xpel film for my girlfriend's 2017 crv. It was super thick and crystal clear and nearly indestructible. And now...I got this piece of junk identical to the junk I just removed. Lesson learned.

That's my fear of doing this..lol. Looks like it's more of a hassle than tint. At least tint you can preheat and shrink to the window. This doesn't appear to be like tha at all.

@@NewShockerGuy agree. Looks like a total nightmare. That edge kept getting heated and squeegeed down over and over in the video but still popped back up. Then they changed camera angles with print all over the screen and boom, the guy was done and it was all perfect. Lol. I’ve read in forums that people just gave up because it was a nightmare. But it’s like $300 to have a professional install done.

Glad I'm not the only one. Those fingers and wrinkles drive me mad. Failed first one and finished the second with few flaws here and there but who cares. It took almost 3 hours to applied just for one headlight.

Will this product prevent yellowing/oxidation of the headlights or only protect against stone chips

Yes it will I have it on my SLK from new and 178K later it's still clear.

@@NewShockerGuy impurities, metals, chlorine and what not. Could leave a cloudy residue under the film.

If I have swirl marks and minor surface scratches on my headlights, will the xpel clear hide some of that? Will it render the swirls invisible? Thanks!

XPEL my headlights are clear. Just when it's under lighting, you can you see fine swirl marks on the plastic. The xpel should be able to help cover most of this? Are there different grades of xpel headlight covers? I've been seeing the one called xpel ultimate. Thanks

Oh btw why aren't you using a soap solution for your SLIP and the ALCOHOL & water as a TACK? I can't see using alcohol as a slip solution, it activates the adhesive and won't allow much adjusting of the film, if at all. OF COURSE YOU KNOW ALL THAT!!.. In fact this video shows TWO bottles on the bench I am betting one has the soap solution in it. Very misleading to those trying this, especially for the first time on ANY vehicle.

Thick heavy duty product. You will need a heat gun to install. Shortly after install go back & look for bubbles. Highly protective product. Listen to GroovyVideo2. Best-Doc

I applied as directed, heat gun, proper amount of water vs alcohol. Different squeegee from video. After about an hour of reapplying water solution smoothing and being patient my Porsche headlights look far worst than prior to applying XPEL sheet. Paid $75.00 for a bad experience.

Doing a Porsche eh? Why not show us how to do a Prius headlight say Gen III 2011 or so? The film won't lay down as there are no flat areas as you describe. It's all easy when you do it everyday and have to meet a schedule in getting it done.
