What is the difference in a surface and a plane servo other than 1 is for air the other is for trucks and cars. Also what is a coreless motor. How does it work without the core.
In my mind the torque test was unfair because the both servos had completely different torque ratings, Hitec : 110oz XQ: 200 oz, so it was obvious the XQ was going to kick butt!!
it's actually about 200 to 130. But these were the very first tests and we didn't knwo what to expect. Which is why we then tried it against the 7985 and it still outperformed it at 1/2 the cost
I've had one quit, which was replaced under warranty by Redwing. I have two that I haven't had any problems with. And two that the potentiometer came out of it's cradle and the screws holding the motor in place came loose. The pots are held in the housing by melting the edges with a soldering iron, there are screw bosses but they are not used. I would recommend using some CA around the perimeter of the pot mount, and add loctite to the motor screws. Yeah this was a very AD HOC test. you can see they do VERY well for what they are. this was a LONG time ago and was legitimately just a test that we were surprised and thought we'd share. We then started distributing these in the US. Another company quickly jumped in and capitalized on our promotion and testing and dropped the price just to be an annoyance. However our customer service won't leave you hanging if you do have any problems
