Not in a rehabilitative facility, but I see/ seen my fair share of people who are seeking help in a variety of ways. How are you/ what do you see to determine it is addiction; specifically Adderall, and Alpralozam? Truly asking out of curiosity as to what I may be over looking. Thanks!

For instance, the premises that 1) audiences consider the reaction video mutually interexchangable with the original (shouting "theft" and "lazy content" doesn't make the content interexchangable, not even for those making those claims). 2) People interested in the video through the reaction content will not subscribe to the original channel/watch other videos by the original creator. 3) The streamers' audience would certainly have discovered the channel/videos on their own accord as if everybody's algorithms align. 4) That RU-vidrs can't/won't file a DMCA if they think the content is harming their channel and that the uploader won't comply etc. There are a lot of factors to weigh that altogether far sooner suggest a net gain for RU-vid channels in terms of clout, views and money from having streamers react to their content. There is even less reason to assume any hypothetical harm somehow outweighs 100% of the revenue of a reaction video. Especially when the big names in the reaction scene have proven to be willing to co-operate with content creators' wishes. People screaming theft and overstating harm are echoing the age-old movie industry propaganda that piracy hurts sales, except their argument is even weaker since the original video is freely available for anyone that wants to see it in a more time-efficient manner and so is the creator's entire video library. @@thorthewolf8801​

To talk about the vast majority of cases when all you can do is point to a few is also laughable. 1, Why wouldnt it make it interexchangeable? You basically have the same video just with a chair in the corner and the occasional "wow thats crazy!" Why do you think fair use exists? Why do you think cpz was stopped from streaming the dark knight? 2, People *might* subscribe, but there is not enough evidence that it is beneficiary. Pro react streamers always point to the few that does gain some benefit, while forgetting that these reactors "react" to a whole bunch of content. If you steal a dollar from a thousand people, but give back 25 to one that doesnt make what you do right. 3, No, they might not have watched that particular video. They would have watched something else, probably some original content. Just because I wouldnt have stolen a bag of cash from the bank, doesnt mean that when a bankrobber gives one to me that isnt stolen. 4, RU-vidrs might, or might not. The first problem is that many of them are mistaken and think react content is good, like you. We need to spread awareness. Second, the internet is a big space, its unrealistic to expect youtubers to know that someone reacted to their video. Third, how backwards is that, to expect the youtuber to do a takedown, putting the onus on them, instead of the reactors? How about you dont steal content? And finally, many of these creators arent equipped to deal with the blowback. Dmca and takedowns are demonized in the community because of companies falsely claiming stuff. The recent cgp grey situation is sufficient enough of an example. Connected to this, the fees you have to pay to go to court. Movie studios have no problem with that, thats why zbu stopped streaming the dark knight, but wont stop streaming youtube videos. There are a load of factors to consider that altogether far sooner suggests a net harm for youtube channels and the content creation eco system. There is even less reason to assume the hypothetical gain outweighs the harm react channels cause. Especially when the big names have shown to completely disregard original content creators. Quite the contrary, the argument is even stronger in this case since piracy is individual, streaming isnt. These streamers broadcast someone elses content to hundreds or thousands of other people. Not even considering the views they get when they reupload that content. Piracy does hurt sales. Just because the original is still available for free doesnt mean that it doesnt hurt. You pay for a video by watching it, the content creator gets ad revenue, money, more views, interaction which in turn means that the video will get recommended more, which means more money. If a streamer steals that content, there is no reason to go back to a video you have already seen. The creator is entitled to some kind of compensation that they agree to. You dont just steal someone elses work and say here is some exposure. This is even worse than unpaid internship since at least they consent to it. Now that I have adressed your points, onto my argument. It might be hard to prove empirically the harm or the benefit of reaction "content", even if we logically know it would be negative. A much more tangible harm is the unrealised gains. The video that a youtuber creates is their own property, they have the rights to decide how it is used and by whom, if the usage doesnt fall under fair use. I already know what arguments you will try to use, so I advise you against them: - "They wouldnt have watched that video on their own"-> bankrobber analogy - "The original is still available"-> I also debunked this, for one, these two videos now compete Another analogy, consider you have a business renting out cars. You own the cars. A person who takes a car without permission is a thief, even if they return it, even if they return it in the same condition as it was when they took it, even if at the time you didnt need it. In another conversation, the person I was speaking with said that he sees nothing wrong with it, in fact he thinks its right to take someone elses property without their permission... disregarding the whole stealing aspect, dont you see how that disincentivises creating, buying your own things? Which, sure, when talking about cars might be a diserable outcome given pollution, but when talking about content creation, that is bad. You are desincentivising creating new, original content while incentivising lazy, exploitative content.
