Xr400r is one of the best all-round dirtbikes you can own. Does tight wood trails, mx courses, higher speed open trails, dessert and touring. Not brilliant at any of them but can do it. It's basically the toyota hilux of bikes.
It really is, truthfully it doesn’t belong in the air and on a track, it can manage small stuff if the suspension has been set up to handle it, but ANYWHERE else it’s fantastic. I’ve taken it on trail, desert and enduro terrain with all of the modern 300cc two strokes and done better in many situations and only in a few had the liability of all the extra weight. It’s a fantastic machine.
