Peak GG in play here. Watching other people play while you defend why your character is skill-based and good while saying how bullshit another character is.
Can't wait to see your video on your perspective on Elphelt. The one you were considering on twitter. Kinda tired of hearing the same shit over and over again from haters, ngl.
"My main Millia is in Xrd and people say she's quite good in this version. Let's try her combos with IAD..." ... 2 hours later ... Ok, let's go to Strive again...
@@ghasty2570 i think you're wrong then. get tired of the BS maybe, bounce off it cause the difficulty/aesthetics/general feel don't appeal to them, but the absolute last reason i can imagine someone dropping Xrd was bc it was boring for them. especially compared Strive (no shade)
What did Hotashi mean about USA skill level being closer to Japan's if rollback were available earlier? Is it because the nature of Japan's geography and internet allows delay to be a viable way to play fighting games online?
For a bit of deeper context for Japan's culture, arcades were established in train stations as a normal thing, and Japan is a VERY transit-centric culture. You could kill some time before the next train came at an arcade, and as a result it became very easy to establish in-person matches and communitues in lieu of netplaying. The US by comparison has baaically never had any kind of comparison. Sure, there were arcades and groups came out of it, but the convenience of train station arcades was something the US has never really had.
Frame one grab is super powerful and going from Strive to Xrd I though I was gonna get grabbed all the time out of pressure but no the counterplay is still the exact same; don't be in range or just use projectile oki. Could also bait it with a jump attack, throw might not have a whiff animation but whatever button they use to OS it has one so the only actual difference is that you can't get a counter hit punish from whiffed throws.
but since they are throwing out a button to OS the whiff wouldn't that get counter hit anyway? or is their a way to throw and not have any animation come out ?
