Thank you so much for this amazing review I’ve had this saber in my Temu cart for a while now and have never ordered it wondering how good it really is.. it looks really good and sounds really good 👍
It's a great saber at an amazing price. I'm going to follow up with an advanced tutorial showing how to add a MicroSD card and use the Bluetooth app with it
@@thefrugaljedi yeah, I snagged it for 42 US. My first one other than Black Series or the Disney replicas. Now I'm falling down the rabbit hole of all the VHC parts....oh boy...lol
@@devilcat1313 This is an RGB saber which is great for dueling. When you decide to get a Neopixel, it will knock your socks off! I've done a couple of reviews where I compared Black Series to Neopixel. The Black Angel by TXQ and the Black Series Leia Reviews
Awesome review!! How bright is this saber? Is it as bright as other RGBs? Because I've bought cheap lightsabers from Temu and they're really not bright. Thank you for your time!!
Great review as always. Maybe three or more of these lower cost sabers can be Frankensteined together to make a unique and original saber hilt or a more screen accurate legendary lighsaber. Love just getting the sabers out and mixing and matching trying new designs. Love nothing more than finding a basic lightsaber and customizing it. MTFBWY.
I know youre testing it, but you really remind me of my brother. Every toy he ever got he immediately broke them, he wasnt interested in the toy, just how easily it could break. 35 years later and hes still breaking new things. God knows why. 😊
I was the type of kid that took pristine care of my toys. I would freak out if I ever misplaced an accessory for one of my action figures (Star Wars, GI Joe, He-Man, etc) 😆
@@thefrugaljedi oh I don't doubt it!!! I took care of mine too. I kept all my toys from childhood. Sold most of my star wars toys back in 97 for cheap. Only Sold my He Man Gi Joe Thundercats Sectaurs and various other figures only 2 years ago. Of course they were unboxed and missing weapons and armor. But I managed to keep them for decades in a big tin. Only thing I kept for myself was GiJoe K9 from Law and Order minus his collar.
I'll add that, since it's a standard LGT, if someone wants to, they can always change out individual body/electronic components. There are several LGT resellers, but I'm a huge fan of Vire. I will point out that if you wanted to replace the emitter on that, you would also need to get a switch housing, because that's one of the few that has both in one piece. But yeah, LGT is awesome for customization.
As always, a fully feature filled lightsaber review. I'm not in the market for base lit lightsabers anymore, because I have enough of them I purchased over the last decade (and some I built myself).
I keep a few for dueling and for further tutorials. I felt this video would be really helpful for people who are new to lightsabers and don't understand the difference between a $20 saber and a $100 saber. Temu has so many sabers that look cool on the outside but have horrible internals. Or, if you look closely at some of the ads, the blades are REALLY short. They should be calling them Lightdaggers 😂
@@thefrugaljedi I have some of those shorter blades (20 inch to 26 inch) because when I want to use 2 single hilts coupled together, using those shorter blades makes it a lot easier to spin. I have some of those budget electronics lightsabers. I usually had gutted them to install my own internals if I planned to keep the shell. If not, I used them till they broke or gave away during the Holidays.
Hey frugal Jedi my v8 pixel nova came in and it isn’t using colour it has sound but no colour is there anything I could be doing wrong? Or a known fix?
I just recently found out from Vire sabers that there is a difference between RGBX V3 and the Xeno3. With your button description, I’m guessing this is the Xeno3?
Correct. RGBX v3 has 12 soundfonts, no bluetooth and no microsd capability. I've reviewed a few of those in the past. The Adawlert, Sabermasters, the upgrade video I did to the Eleskoco.
So I just found this channel when you posted this video. I figured what the hell. I have been monkeying around with Arduino's to do my own saber and thought at this price it would get a decent one to look at and if needed cannibalize for parts. So I jumped on Temu and signed up for the app and ended up with a $25 off coupon. So ordered the saber and it costs me about $28 total. Got it today and I have to tell you that I agree with your entire assessment ... I would even go so far as to rank it a little higher since I got it for half the price you did. So just wanted to say thanks for the heads up on this.
$28! That's what I'm talking about! In the future, I'll be adding a MicroSD card to this saber and making a tutorial called Advanced XRGB V3. Go over how to add soundfonts and music, updating firmware, turn on some hidden featues, etc. Thanks for your kind words!
Unfortunately TEMU seems to stop selling those sabers :-( I live in Europe (Hellas). Except from the official website, which i don't know in which region is, where can we buy new or used light sabers of that vfm quality?
My latest review has a link to one of LGTs stores on AliExpress. If you want the same saber as this one, it's the XRGB V3 configuration you want. I'd recommend spending the little extra to have the MicroSD card with 34 soundfonts.
For RGB sabers, the XRGB V3 is better overall by a small margin. Where TXQ is crushing it is with their SN-Pixel v4. The amount of effects you can create with it is insane.
@@thefrugaljedi I just saw a review on the SNV4 pixel. I noticed it had more ignition styles, more blade styles, and I like the color and volume method of changing better than the Xeno3.
Hey i loved the review, do you know where to get a coupler i would need to get two of these and connect them? I’ve never bought a saber before so sorry if it’s a silly question. May the force be with you
If you're ordering 2 of these, contact Dupengda on Instagram or through their webpage lightsabershop.com. they will most likely send you a coupler because you're getting two.
Pretty good price for what is just an LGT baselit. Love these. I still throw my pixel sabers but I feel better about doing it with these, lol. They're just easier and faster to move about, and sweet you get such good sound. Do think it's generally better to use two screws on the same side at different heights. That's definitely a thing they could do better with but it's serviceable. The sharp edges is not. Again, if I throw these, I don't want to be catching them on that, so I have to sand them down. That should definitely be done better. Their windowed emitters can be a bit slicey at times, too. Hadn't thought to look on temu, lol. Pretty dicey selection. See one that says it vibrates. 😅
I agree that two screws on the same side works better. Three screws is even better. One on the lowest section of the emitter and the other two on each side.
Idk which one this is but I originally was looking at black but ended up with the gold hilt the picture looks like it’s bright but idk but it was 10 bucks with a coupon so I don’t care if it sucks I’ll just send it back lol
hey guys I am still kinda new to sabers... and I have a few questions... I bought a Sabertrio Aeryn as my first saber because I just liked the quality... I am looking to get into learning some swings and stuff but the Aeryn is not optimal for that... its too expensive for my skill (I already broke a 130$ blade, while training) and its not a good shape for spinning... so I am looking for a "cheap" saber for swinging... it should be decent quality and if possible neopixel... should not cost more than 250 bucks... what should I consider buying? I also want to get some good replicas with proffie + neopixel... mainly Starkillers saber with the exposed kyber crystal and mace windu... I saw a few good ones, but I have no idea what manufacturer they were, can you suggest some maybe?
A Sabertrio as your first saber is quite the first step into sabers! Honestly I don't think you're going to find a Windu or Starkiller for $250 or less. If you're focusing on saber spins then go with a single button design. I'd recommend a saber from LGT NEXUS Xenopixel V3 for its ease of use. A good place to start looking is pluttsportions.com. I've reviewed the Sabine Wren saber from his store. His prices are really low!
@@thefrugaljedi no I think I explained it poorly... I dont want the Starkiller/Windu to cost 250 bucks... 250 is my budget for a saber for spinning... the Starkiller / Windu have unlimited budget, I just want to get the best LMAO... so in total we are talking about 3 individual sabers I want to add to my sabertrio...
If you want to replace your neo pixel blade for a good price? I have a brand new one for sale. 36 inch long, 1 inch diameter, mid grade strength. I’m asking $69 plus shipping.
welcome to the hobby. base lite sabers are the best for dueling. when looking at the a base lite for dueling you wants something with a deep blade depth. from shorted edge of the end of the emitter to where the blades meets the led. Pixel are great for all the animations. its okay for light dueling and spins. this issue with pixels is find the balance point. you want the balance point to be near the emitters with the blade attached. pixels blade makes the sable blade heaving mean all the weight is in pixel blade. if you are in the us i would recommend lgt bc there are a lot of resellers. i prefer crimson dawn and vire sabers. when you get into canon hilts you are jumping down major rabbit hole they get very expensive. my apologies i just saw that you were in the EU. please check out padawan outpost, they are a lgt reseller and look at Absolute Sabers channel here on youtube .good luck!
Am I doing something wrong? Just got one of these and it won't turn on and when I try and charge it. It just repeats SD card error. I didn't have one in to start. So I put one in. Still the same thing.
What would you recommend sanding it down? I watched your review and bought it for my fiance. We're having a SW wedding! It arrived and of course, it's sharp. It's a beautiful saber, but dont want her cutting her fingers 😂@@thefrugaljedi
Sorry I thought this comment was in the Luke V1 comments. This RGB Saber is an AMAZING saber for your first one. The ability to add a MicroSD card and get even more soundfonts and music is cool. You will love it!
@@Damo2698 Are you referring to this review or the SABNEO sabers? SABNEO sabers don't have expandability. For that, look at Xenopixel, SN-Pixel v4, H-Pixel, Asteria, Golden Harvest and Proffie.
@@supreme84x These are both LGT sabers. With this one in particular, you could interchange grips and pommels with other standard LGT sabers, add extensions or couplers.
I know stuff cycles on and off of tumu quickly but I figured it's worth saying the link just sent me to the tumu main page. If anyone has a working link to it I'd appreciate it. If not, I know Temu and not surprised if it's gone for good.
"I refuse to review that company" ok now i know how mental and radical you are thanks. My first video is my last of yours m8. Buy theory sabers that shit dont break 😂 should see that short lmao.
Theory sabers sell TXQ sabers. Go ahead and buy from them if you want. The one I refused to review would've been sponsored and I couldn't, in good conscience, review something so bad. Have a good day.
What about those of us that really don’t give a damn and only want one because it looks cool on display ? who gives a shit if it came from temu . You people act like you’re gonna be out in the streets doing battle or some shit
counterfeit temu scoring a 4.2 out of 5?? your baselines are off. it's not even a replica with customisable proffie, sn pixel or other platforms...shame on you dude.... now unsubed after my original post got removed for whatever reason. i won't buy from that platform for the fundamental reason that they want to kill other pioneers/retailers with rip offs; buy cheap or buy twice or buy the real item. The RC hobby is flooded with the same crap which if wins will never evolve again
@@thefrugaljediWTF.... wake up....... its Temu and junk priced... anyone promoting that crap needs to revisit their alliances. just google "if you can cheat then cheat" china are at the forefront of banking on others products cloned
@@sk7262 Whether you like it or not, people shop on Temu. I'd rather direct them to something decent on that site than them buying junk. LGT NEXUS is not junk. TXQ, DamienSaber and LGT Nexus are ALL Chinese companies. Which companies are they cloning?
