@@elijahlee3610 a series s is $299, x screen is $249. A gaming laptop that matches the specs would run about $1200 vs $549 for the series s+screen. And that's considering you don't already have a series s. So could you get a laptop? Yes. But you'd be paying double, that being said, you're paying $650 for the laptop, which may or many not be of use to you depending on if you have a laptop already

I can grab this for under 200 I def grab it. Yea you can get a better screen but the screen just looks like it goes with the s like Xbox made the console like this. Overall pretty cool gotta grab me a S and xacreen

I feel like some people expect this device to replace your tv at home. It definitely isn’t intended for that. 120 hz really isn’t that amazing. It’s just a gimmick. Anyways, this screen is awesome.

nice review, can't wait to get my order (ITALY) a question, when I turn down the screen, the xbox goes to standby. is there a way to turn it off completely by lowering the screen? or do I have to do it manually?

When you close the screen it turns the Xbox Off, not standby. You just have to follow the instructions I mentioned on video.

There are other screens I believe to be available, don't know how many others, could just be a couple, but they are a very cool idea after watching this video however theres 3 things I don't like. 1. The price 2. No cut out for the other usb port 3. While 1080p 60hz is good, I feel there are laptops of similar size with better screens that would be better suited for the Xbox

Please, be aware that XSS's cooler might turn on while in standby/energy saving. 🙂 So DON'T close the screen! EVER! Leave it vertically and you'll be fine.

This one is better than factory in my opinion. Gstory screen you need a separate power brick for the screen and the hdmi isn’t built in to the screen nice and neat like this one. I have the gators screen that’s how I know.

@@78BroncoOscar95 I agree it is nice to have the Hdmi and power supply built into the monitor and not need extra cords. My concern is that the limited supply of power over usb will hinder the monitors performance in the way of peak brightness. I will mostly use this indoors and in darkly light areas so most of the time it won't be a issue but during the summer there are times I sit outside with my laptop playing games and I'm looking to replace myblaptop for gaming with this which is why im concerned about the peak brightness.

@@rollina2000gt I take it back. I prefer my gstory screen despite needing a separate power cable. Reason being, I don’t have to remove the gstory screen in order to hook up the Xbox to my big tv. All I have to do is remove the short hdmi cable, open the screen and voila, connect the hdmi from tv to my xbox

@@78BroncoOscar95 but if you were strictly using it for a portable gaming setup the upspec screen would be you're prefered screen? I just got mine in the other daym so far the only thing im not liking is downloading updates. Not being able to use ethernet sucks but i have a series x I use at home so the s can just sit there and download as long as it needs to. As long as its done when I'm ready to leave. lol

I was agonizing for months whether I should buy the Series S, Series X or a PS5. I love the Series X design best (and it's the most powerful), but this screen just sold me on the Series S. I will get the Series S first, buy this screen, and then when Elder Scrolls 6 comes out, I will buy a Series X and hook it up to the TV.

Update: the screen is 1080p and 60 hz so fps boost games over 60fps will only play at 60fps

I've got this exact setup ordered and due to ship very soon. The case is a must have really as you can also use it as a lap tray on the go and everything fits in it so snug. The fact they got this working bus powered off USB and using HDMI-CEC is just perfect design.

What about the second USB port in the back? Now it is inaccessible. Any external USB drive now needs to be in the front, and with only 512Gb internal storage, going without isn't really an option. It does look cool, but with only one usable USB in front, I think it will be a hard pass for me.

The gstory screen is the better option then. Pros, you have access to the other slots on the back of the series s. Con, requires extra power cable

Yep there is a warning that you need to ensure that you do not close the lid whilst the console is turned on, not to mention the USB settings to switch the console off when you close the lid will avoid that issue.

I like this one more because there's no extra cables needed to use the screen. The GStory needs a separate cable to power the screen & HDMI cable to connect to console. This just plugs in to console and that's it. You only use the Xbox power cord to power everything. One cable & that's it.

The G Story is the knockoff. This has been in development all year, UpSpec even took legal action against them. G Story requires an additional power cable, hmdi cord, and adds significant bulk.

@@Vintiqueture The G story one has been out since a couple of months after release, they even have a PS5 one and a Series X one. Having legal action is very funny for a third party accesory (and it isn’t even licensed for both parts) but oh well, i will stick with that one, it gives access to my other ports. Don’t care about the bulk, but about the built quality. (Of the UpSpec one)

I disagree. If you're one that travels a lot, like me last year. This would've Golden. Of course if you're just stuck at home, why buy this? I wish I can play games like Forza horizon, Halo, Jedi Fallen Order or others AAA on the Switch, but sadly it can't handle it. Thanks for watching and sharing.

I'm not stuck at home. I travel more than most here. I have more tech gadgets than the Inspector himself. I still have my original PS2 with attached 3rd party monitor. Like I said. This idea was great over 15 years ago. Today, I wouldn't bother with this idea. How's this for portability? If I were to take my console and wanted to use it as a portable, I would use my Epson Moverio glasses with a Rochester enclosure to play on a projected screen that is about 65"-70" in front of me. I can use these glasses with my consoles and my mobile phone, connecting with an HDMI or a specialized USB Type C cable.
