There is nothing better than a fully stocked local hobby shop. I spent the whole christmas season scouring the interwebs for a Tamiya tt02 porsche rsr kit that I could get to Canada. Tried amain, horizon, amazon, great hobbies, hobby hobby etc. Nothing, no stock. Had to give up. I later took my son to explore a local shop literally 10 mins from my home here in Windsor, and there on the shelf, out of the blue, was my kit. Also cheaper than online. Instantly bought it. Local shop for the win! Totally unexpected. Now I check the local shops before ordering anything online. Support those local shops guys! Cheers.
Yep. Same here. I scoured my town looking for a TT-02 kit for my nephew for Christmas. Couldn’t find it anywhere. Ended up buying the kit from Amain. Got the Audi V8 kit and some extras. I have two TT-02’s now and I dearly love the chassis. It has its quirks but you learn to handle them as you progress. Speaking of them, one is a TT-02R clone with the steering upgrade parts, oil shocks, 3° rear hubs and a front one-way unit among other hop-ups. The car is an absolute beast though it’s still using a Sports Tuned motor. The other is a RWD drift convert with a 10.5T Tamiya brushless system on 2S. Thing isn’t the best compared to much more dedicated drift chassis but I can have some great fun with it and holds its own.
@@taimaishu-nao1922 Sounds great. I'm really enjoying my Tt02 kit. I'm not a fan of the modern RTR trend. I like to build from kits and Tamiya are very nice. Mine is mildly modded with oil shocks and bearings (a MUST for TT02 kits.) , some aluminum steering and drivetrain parts and working headlights and taillights on ch3. I painted it box art and it is stunning. Very scale appearance. I think the best thing about the TT02 kits is that they are a blank canvas for building the car you want. Cheers.

Hi mate I enjoyed this video. I think people have to remember that you are not a professional film maker and if like me you film everything on either your phone or some times a GoPro it’s not easy. Personally I would love to see more content like this on both channels. Please keep up the great work.
Excellent yeah I do everything on my phone however this was too rushed, it was the end of the day and I should of taken more time. Anyway I’ll learn from this and get it better next time my friend 😇👊🏻

I'm of the opinion that the local shop is the life blood of this hobby. Only there can you put your hands on EVERYTHING you're going to need, up to and including spares, and we all know how hard that can be to find some of those.
Great video! I've spent a lot of practice days at Xtreme over the past couple of years, and it's a great shop. My favourite thing to do is browse all the parts, I've literally spent hours combing through their inventory to see what gems might be there.
My wife thought l was watching something a little dirty on my phone with that shop tour! Amazing place! Great stuff Glenn, all these serious race cars and here's me down the beach ragging around a Hornet today! G'day Glenn mate nice hobby shop they have a bit of everything looks like a good hang out.Mate you can't go wrong with Traxxas if your in for a new car faster than stink slow as necessary. I've got heaps of old Traxxas cars and couple of new. Great video as always mate 👍
Mate, nothing against Traxxas but I was turned off by them. They’re very critical about only using their parts on their cars and… I wasn’t too keen on the idea. The Slash and 4Tec are amazing but… don’t care for them. Arrma though is interesting to me but their cars are WAAAY too big for my space.
Ok I will not mention Traxxas again but when I worked at the hobby shop hate to tell you they were the best sellers along with Tamiya kits. We will see if Armma is around as long as Tamiya and Traxxas and I was kinda thinking Glenn might look for a old rare Traxxas to restore and bash

Get one but remember to get an alloy rear shock mount because the stock mount is too flimsy and flex too much, putting the shocks at such a weird angle when landing, you could possibly break your CVAs. You could reinforce the standard mount but I’d recommend just getting alloy ones. The carbon and FRP ones are pretty and cure the flimsiness issue but if you take too many jumps wrong or crash too often, they’ll crack and/or break. Again, get the alloy mounts if you get one. Price, weight savings and durability are worth the investment over getting FRP or carbon for looks.
Yes...we do not have anything like this store where we are. Our local shop (who I will not name but I am sure you know where I mean) is pretty embarrassing. They are stuck in the 80's. The closest thing we have is Paris Junction Hobby. They are a small shop but have an amazing selection for its size.
$10 all day isn’t bad. I pay $15/hour just to go drifting at my local spot! But they don’t actually enforce the time limits so I’ve spent more time there than I paid for at times but yeah.
one of the local shops here in oz melbourne is like this shop Mainly traxxas and horizon only cause they cant get any tamiya kits which seems to be the same for this shop
