wow what a tricky little circuit, that jump is a real pain as you need big speed to clear it then you left no room for stopping and then you also have to turn at the same time , id say once you have it down pat it would be a fast and fun track then to beat your own lap times would make for more and more disciplined driving but gee i wish we had something like that around my end without also having to drive for hours to a track , thanks again for a great video Glenn and man that TRF201 is just superb. cheers Buddy

Hey Tamiya Legends, your driving reminded me of when I came back to the hobby after 25 years away. I drove as if I had a delayed reaction and everything was not how I planned. There were a few things that helped me. The first is to get a fast steering servo. The faster the better. The second is to get a high frame rate radio system. These two things will will drastically reduce the delay between your hand's steering motion and and the steering movement of the car's wheels. Imagine driving your full-size car with a steering delay... After this I suggest racing as much 21.5 stock-class touring car as possible. VTA tires are weird and the bodies cause traction roll easily. I ran VTA for a few years but I definitely prefer Stock Touring. I hope this helps and all the best to you!

Don't worry about painting the wing, that'll be the first thing to break and you'll have to replace it a lot, that's why most racers leave them clear. It took me a long time to get used to racing on a track again, and to tune the car for it before I was consistent and getting to the speed of the regulars. Unfortunately my local track is clay, which is fine, but very poorly maintained (rough, wet one day, dusty the next) and if you don't drive a Losi car they wouldn't even talk to you. Sold my race buggy. Maybe one day a better track will open. The next closest is an hour away.

Yeah, it was a great video, nice footage! I love watching this one, I also have a 201, but I would love to have that Azarashi body you have, it is so cool! I have never been on a track before at all, so I shouldn't pretend to be smart, but I do think it was underpowered. It looked great in the corners and on the small jumps with that gearing. I would probably invest in a nice sensored brushless setup for it.

IMHO, a set of low profile tyres, on both front and rear would stop tyre roll and help turn the car a little quicker in the faster corners (as you stated at the start). Also maybe think of a faster turning steering servo. Other than that (and a little more speed), the car looks a hoot to drive man!! Great video as always Glenn! Thumbs bud!!

Hey Glenn, it's not you, it's the track, don't beat yourself or your car up over it, just single that jump and enjoy the rest of the track. Also I could be totally wrong, might just be the way it looks on the video, but something seems a little off on the front geometry like maybe the front hub carriers are switched around just by the angle of the wheels when it's got a lot of steering lock on. Or simply a better gear ratio. On my Tamiya Zahhak… I used a 22t pinion and a 78t spur for a while. Now I use a 19t pinion and a 87t spur to make the gearing conservative… I actually plan on reverting to 79t spur at a later date and maybe a 22t or 23t pinion.
@Nlangkirby135
@Nlangkirby135 2 года назад
I actually made use of a traxxas 18t pinion to make the gearing equal to the rc10b4 and rb10 by team associated. However the tires I am using are rather shitty in terms of rubber compound. They wore out like the Tamiya dual block tires. I also replaced the generic goolrc 60a esc for a Hobbywing wp-10bl60-rtr esc. What a world of difference in throttle response.
