Cutting circles is a good way to show if the machine is accurate, so decided to cut 2 circles from 18mm plywood, first one cut at 60mm diameter, second one 1/4mm smaller.
At 1:45, the router rapids to the next cut point, but hits the plywood waste piece and stalls, losing a bunch of steps. It happens sometimes if you don't use tabs to keep the material in place. As long as you are quick to hit the E-stop, no damage is done to the router. It takes only seconds to ref all axis home, go back in the G-code to where you need to, and continue cutting. The circle was perfectly round and dropped in nicely.
BTW, I had to show how effective the cyclone is, so I just sucked up a heap of sawdust from inside the panel saw. Cutting on the router produces large amounts of sawdust and with a cyclone installed, it all drops in to the bin below - the vac bag and filters stay clean. The bin fills up quickly and I have to empty it every few days, but the vac filters are checked monthly.
