Just another day in the workshop, but this time I decided to pull the iPhone out and record for a bit - sorry for the shaky video.
The router is very reliable. It gets used pretty much every day, and has been working for over a year with no adjustments needed. I couldn't imagine a workshop without one...
This table being used is an older design - it is welded together. In the background, you can see one of the new bolt together tables ready for sale.
I have also been working on a rotary 4th axis and a plasma cutter kit that will bolt directly to these tables. More info soon....

Hi Eugene, Your Machine design is awesome, I LOVE IT. Your demonstration and your answers to the queries on all your videos makes me understand that you have very good knowledge about what you are doing. If possible, could you please make some videos where you would talk about and share information on what you are doing and demonstrating. Looking forward for more videos.

The rectangular tube is very smooth. I use it without doing anything to it.

Hi All the machines use 270 oz-in stepper motors. The plywood routers use direct drive, while the steel routers use a 3:1 belt reduction. The gantry weighs about 70Kg. The weight keeps it on the rails. The chain is for linear motion, it doesn't hold the gantry in place

Thank you. I'll try to make more videos

Hi Claude Thank you for the kind words. Direct drive is certainly possible. I have built several direct drive steel routers and they work well. They are quicker & easier to build, but lack the power and resolution that gearing provides.

Helo Eugene First congratulation , it's very good job Like and better a profesionnal building. Just one question I read a lot of forum, and explore "buildyourcnc" Why do you use a reduction for the steel router. A direct is not possible??? Thank's in advance for your answer Best regards
