I have been a professional stagehand/rigger for 30 years,. Y&T is #1 on my list of Shows to see. After being a fan for life since the early 80's, I finally got to see them live in 2015. I have never been effected by a musician quite like what Dave Meniketti did to me. It is as he wrote, sang and played the soundtrack of my life,. I sang every lyric and then walked off into the the night in awe of what I just felt This man is "MUST see" and "Do NOT miss" status. Thank you for your time.
one of the best Metal /Rock Songs ever -everyone who like Metal/ Hardrock must have this 3 Albums of Y&T/ Earthshaker, Black Tiger and Mean Streak-only fantastic
I remember buying the Black Tiger Album when it first came out back in Nineteen hundred and something...........about wore that vinyl out, can't believe Y&T never got the status of many of the other bands like VH, Aerosmith etc.....it amazes me how good this is now and stands the test of time.
Great song, great vocal, meaningful lyrics delivered with a lot of passion and that's before the very high quality guiutar solo. Yes, they are underrated, but they are still here, which shows they have quality that hasn't gone unnoticed by everyone!
Dave has that kind of spirit that seems to feel the need to be heartfelt, authentic,, and to passionately express those deeply human feelings we all feel inside. And with thoughtfully revised lyrics, and emotionally powerful music to complete the full experience Kudos to a true warrior spirit, you can tell by his interviews, that he has really been in touch with the fans and the love of the genre the whole time, it really is a shame that Y&T did not ascend to the heights of popularity and fame, as many other bands that were promoted at the time, Dave explains in several interviews I've seen how the record companies sided with more popular up-and-coming band, instead of rightfully giving credit to those who earned their place through years of slogging it out on the road and making excellent albums which had built a decent fan base.
These guys played for one of my High School dances, back when they were, Yesterday & Today. In Cupertino, Ca. Then a few years later, I saw them perform at one of our Night Clubs. They really know how to blow the roof off. A great group of talented musicians. And really down to earth kind of guys 💕.
Y&T played "Rainbow In The Dark" as a tribute at the debut concert for Facemelter at The Fillmore San Francisco, 2 days after Dio's passing. With no synthesizer. That was the last time I saw Phil.
Yarzospatflute I'm from Denver and flew out there for my birthday and to the see the band. The next day after the show, the wife and I were sitting on the grass in ghirardelli square and saw the band walk right pass me before I realized who they were, but, I did yell out "Great show last night! And they waved back. It was a great weekend!
I had this album & "Black Tiger' back in the 80's ...TOP SHELF Music Dave is one of the BEST EVER!!! Great Guitarist+++Great Vocalist (At the Same Time) Great Songwriter....And He Still ROCKS!!!!!
discovered Y&T while living in the Bay Area mid-80's. Always come back to Dave's focused passion & musicianship as the standout attributes of his music.
So, When are they coming to Salt Lake? Even the drive to Vegas or Phoenix Would be worth the investment To witness One of the last great talents Of the '80s
My first record from Y&T: Meanstreak, because that title song was used as background music at some point in a TV serial. It took me a while to find out which band that was, really difficult at that time without internet...
Thank you for posting this great quality video of this marvelous song! You are right about Y& T being under rated. They definitely still have it as they prove here.
WINDS OF CHANGE BLOWING LIKE A HURRICANE FOR WORSE TO MORE WORSE - CAN'T WAIT TILL DAY AFTER TOMORROW IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN - THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF CHRIST ! I'LL BE THERE - HOPE YOU WILL TOO.
Whatever happened to great bands like this? Now, everybody sounds the same, tuned to drop D and scream into the mike. The hair bands of the `80`s had so much talent and diversity, Man, do I ever miss those days.
Wishful thinking: Top2000: Ronnie Flex out, Dave & Co. in. Alas, here in the Netherlands nobody knows Y&T, so Y&T in the Top2000 is just science fiction
do you hear that kiddies...? that right there is what its like to live, breathe, eat, sleep and make love to music every day since the time you are able to walk and talk...someone please shoot the talent(less) shows and make kids tread the boards to learn their craft...just like Dave did all those years ago...turn it up, close your eyes and dream big dreams... RIP Phil
Y & T is such a great band, Dave Meniketti is a fabulous singer and guitar player. I saw them in 2017 and they are still so good as in the 70's and 80's.
An EPIC talent,..this gets to places that no other music can go.. The passion and the way it is communicated is stunning. I have listened to them since the early 80's. They are the Rock in my musical world.
