NP job market varies in various cities/states and among specialties. I think in addition to the pay, NPs working bedside is less stressful than fulfilling the role of provider. It also keeps your skills updated.

Nice video! RU-vidr Kendra RN is in NP school and said she does bedside nursing to keep her skills updated. I think you would enjoy her content.

Thank you for your word of encouragement, Nurse B!! I’ve been watching you for a while and subscribed 💯 throughout your journey as I too went from being a CNA and I’m now a LPN! 😊 I myself was thinking about leaving long-term care to work as a school nurse possibly..what are your thoughts? if you have any thoughts or have come across any other Nurses who are School Nurses??? Healthcare is not what it use to be fa sho! 🤣🤣

My coworker is an NP. I do wound care. She works part time in our clinic and her other days a Kaiser primary care physician. She says she wants one job where she works when she wants and when she finds it that will be all she wrote.

I thought only an MD can use the title of physician?

@krenee984 She probably meant primary care provider.

They work bedside because the pay is the same. More work and more pt but less work and less pt when you have a NP degree. They get the same pay or more.

Very true. I’m working less days and getting more $$ returning to beside per diem. No regrets either.

Please do a video on LPNs in the hospital because I’m an Lpn working on a cardiac pcu ands it’s so hard and I’ve only been there for like 2 months and I’m trying to find something else to do.

Thank you for that reframing at the end... It's a blessing to be a nurse. Reading this after a rough shift.

I worked with a few NPs at my first staff RN job when the rates were high for agency and contracts. They all moved on when the rates plummeted.

In the Bay Area they work as floor nurses cause the pay is more. Where I am many of the floor nurses are NPs

You're encouraging to try again with testing for LPN, thank you. ❤ I'll probably look into nursing programs in stl where family live. ❤❤

I found out that at the hospital I work, there’s a woman here that BEEN finished NP school but can’t find a job. She’s still a floor nurse and I believe she finishes school last year.

@MachineGunKali Sometimes you have to move for a job. Some can’t do it.
@penandpencilplow

Also some don’t want to take an NP position in a rural/remote area but I hear the pay is really good if you can move there.

I'm an LPN in the hospital never worked LTC. I'm also in STL. The floor I work. I don't have issues. There are a couple nurses I just don't ask to do pushes for me cause of there attitude or they always look busy (behind). But most have no issue helping. Also I try to ask if they want me to pass med for them in exchange. But I'm curious of your view on LPNs in the hospital b/c everywhere is different. It's even different here from floor to floor.

Why I’m leaning more towards CRNA everyday
@richardflorida9610
@richardflorida9610 Год назад
Y'all know Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses are working the floor as CNA's? I'm a CNA and I see it all of the time because we're so short-staffed all of the time. But I make $15 an hour as a CNA and we ain't getting no one working for those pennies. We need $20 an hour and we're staying! October is my last month at my facility and I'll have my 1 year experience as a CNA and I'm gonna travel and work agency. Bye facility staff. RN's getting paid $30 an hour and working like a S L A V E.

Where I work, I get floated to the floor as a CNA sometimes. I’m an icu nurse and we already don’t have CNAs in that unit.

Nurse practitioners can’t sign off on certain shit that MD’s can actually sign off on, that’s the fucked up part.🫤
