Yaesu ft-847 Vs Icom ic-706mk2g VHF airband 

considering the size,ic-706mk2g is one hell of a legendary performer! 73! i love it so much!

You could be right that the icom seems a bit better on recieve but it could be down to the speaker frequency response and settings on the radio.

Does this transmit on AIRBAND stock from the factory? I inherited one from my grandfather W1DFU and I have been wanting to set it up at my hangar for a base station

I don't want a Yaesu and an Icom. I'll stick to Kenwood. Have a nice day :)
