@@gtretroworld The FTdx10 is my first new, i wait for warranty to expire. all my others have been done indeed, but were done. But i did coillect the info on all of then how to do it. most of the time its those jumpers. only be careful for Japanese firmware. there it sometimes just don't work and the lower power
soldering is not needed for this modification. If you want it to be permanent then yes solder away. If you use just something conductive across the pads long enough to do the reset then that is all that is needed. This method works for numerous yaesu model of radios. I have don't them many of times. If you have to ever send radio back in for any reason to repair for something then just do a reset of radio and when you get radio back do the mod again by using a temporary conductive bridge across the pads.
Been through this a few times now where i have done the non permanent mod to only get it back after it’s been reset to then having to do it again. So for me i will stick to the solder method, just as easy and folk can reset and update their firmware without having to open it back up.
Good deal. Thought it would be more complicated. Especially for what the shops charge you to do it. I have my 857 done so might not try the 10 but its nice to know how. 73s and thanks n1shu.
