I love how Majima casually shifts between actually singing and screeching like a fucking chicken being smashed against a wall. I would expect no less of Goro Majima.
Dead Souls ultimately failed as a game..... Oh not because of its wonky controls, not at all, because they didn't give this beautiful creature more karaoke songs like Machine Gun Kiss or Bakamitai.
I'm sure the whole zombie prank on Kiryu in Kiwami 1 would've been fun to take part in though, despite all the broken bones you would recieve from Kiryu
2 great things about this: 1. In Yakuza 4 the character profile for Minami says his favourite karaoke song is Get to the Top too meaning he probably took after Majima. 2. In Yakuza 0 Majima sings like a pro meaning somewhere over 25 years or so he just stopped giving a fuck and started to completely let loose like this.
Have you heard Majima no MajiROCK? That one proves he can still sound good when he wants. Also his backup singing in Rouge of Love suggests he was always a little nutty even back in the day lol.
In Yakuza 4, before Minami's boss fight Get to the Top actually comes on and Akiyama shuts it off, taking from us the opportunity to see him sing this song. Akiyama confirmed true villain of Yakuza 4.
Also, in yakuza 0 (I watched someone else play it) He just decided to stop giving a fuck, like people say, at the end of it he just stopped but deep down I guess he's still ol Majima when he really wants like in the zombie game, a lil girl broke his charecter a lil
The more I watch this and 24-Hour Cinderella, the more convinced I am that deep down inside Majima secretly dreams about being an idol. Not in an aspirational sense--he's too much of a realist--but like, "daydreams about performing for millions while singing in the shower" sort of way. Kinda puts his relationship with Mirai in a new light.
I like how the player misses two of the three prompts making up the "Kimeta" at 1:00. It's like Majima is missing his notes because the player his missing his prompts.
Reminder that: 1) this happens during a zombie outbreak 2) contrary to 0's 24hr cindirella, the guys in the chorus are actually there cannonically. That means every time you sing this song you force this guys to love their job even more.
Kamurocho night life chugging through a zombie apocalypse like nothing is going on is extremely in character for the place. Actually, when you think about it, fighting through mobs of violent humans to go to karaoke is pretty normal for an average Kamurocho night...why stop the party just because the mobs are undead this time around?
Don’t forget rule 32 of Zombieland, “Enjoy the Little Things”. A mad dog has to kill some time into having some fun rather than kill zombies and insane monsters.

I've just realized that, at 1:39 (when Majima goes "Takai!") you can actually see the background dancers go into position for the pyramide. Except they don't get on top of each other, they awkwardly move to where they're supposed to be at.
@@feebzcheezit's a case of him singing badly on purpose because he doesn't enjoy it, but it still kinda works somehow. Japanese voice acting will usually have the same person for both regular dialogue and any singing the role might need, so voice actors have the unwritten expectations of being able to do both. Ugaki Hidenari can sing just fine, 24hr Cinderella is proof, this is just what he tolerates better
They're actually bumping down the key of the song so that Majima could sing it, as it's typically reserved for the hostesses and such. So it's sung in a lower pitch than the original, basically. Truth about Majima being loud af though. 😂

Did not realize there was karaoke in dead soul. I thought dead souls was just a zombie shooter... I mean it's Yakuza I should have expected it but it being a spinoff made it question it
