In this video I adjust the timing correctly after not doing so in the last video, I also change the orientation of the rear sprockets. Then I do the final adjustment of the autolube oil pump and cables. Discuss charging some and do some more assembly.

I just got my Great-grandfathers red 1969 Yamaha YG-T Trailmaster 80, (only 2,000 miles on it), and I was searching for restoration videos to help me bring her back to life. I found your channel and am super thankful for your videos. Keep up the great work!

Wow that's going to be a great project, glad these videos have been helpful, they have been pretty popular, so there seems to be a lot of interest in these old bikes. Good luck with yours my friend.

Hi just came across your videos and enjoy watching them. Back in the 70's I had a Honda SL 175 and 350 plus a Suzuki Honcho 90 and Savage 250 miss those days working on them.

Hi there, welcome to the channel and thanks for watching. I remember all those bikes, they are all fun motorcycles, easy to work on and the really good thing is.....they are still out there. Go grab another one and make some new memories, have some fun.

It's a charming bike Dale, runs great. Just like being a teenager again! Just delete the negative stuff Dale, its not worth the time of a man of your talents. Best wishes, Dean.

Thanks Jeff, I certainly don't deserve to be put in that category, I am just having fun in my retirement doing the sort of things I could only dream of as a young man. I grew up reading magazines and watching what others were doing, just like you and every other guy at the time. Of course, those who try, make mistakes. It just takes all the wind out of the sails when folks get too serious or over their skis about stuff. I don't do this for a living it's just for fun and I hope others can get some help for their projects or just some entertainment from it. Thanks for the kind words my friend.

Outstanding work! I enjoy all of your projects, I just rebuilt a Suzuki RM 80T for a grandkid nice to have the parts availability still, I learn allot from your videos and appreciate all the work beyond repairing the bikes to produce the videos. Thx Dale

Thanks Shawn, bet the RM80 was a fun project, the smaller bikes are my favorite these days. They still have good parts availability and there were more made, so used stuff is there too. Glad these videos are of some use. I appreciate you spending your time with me in the shop.

We all make mistakes. You less than others. Can't say I've ever heard of weights needing to be moved while adjusting a 2 stroke. Quite interesting. For having no manual you were very much on track! A great lesson making educated guesses, learning from mistakes and correcting them.
@montana2strokeracer
@montana2strokeracer 8 месяцев назад
Thanks Jim, yes this system keeps the timing retarded to start the engine, then once started the flyweights go out and advance it for normal riding.

It sounds very good Dale . I always use Blendzall , it is a bit gummy but I have been using it for 50 years with really good luck .
@montana2strokeracer
@montana2strokeracer 8 месяцев назад
Thank you, years ago I used Blendzall, I think you just use what is available in your area, these days you can get anything sent to your house. I use Caster bean oil (currently Klotz) in my race bikes, but Yamalube in the oil injection bikes.

Great job, a great motorcycle! What do you do with the original paint? Do you preserve it, do you grow it?
@montana2strokeracer
@montana2strokeracer 8 месяцев назад
Hi there, all I did on this one was to buff out the old paint with buffing compound. It still has the chips and scratches, but it shined up pretty nice. After that I coated all the painted parts with paste wax.

Regarding the condenser/capacitor, I think you meant to say 22 microfarads/µf. Farad is the unit name for capacitance. Named after Michael Faraday.
