Glad you and your boat are ok. It helps to see how easy things can go wrong. I’m a new boater and feel better the more information I get before I start practicing. Your honesty was hilarious. I could see myself making a similar mistake and laughed even more.
Stuff happens. It isn’t that big of a deal. You’re ok, boat is ok, that’s a win win situation. It’s part of figuring a new setup out. Mistakes are made and you learn from it. That little boat is scooting!!!!
You got lucky. It could of very easily have not been a dirt bank. Be careful. Nice boat, though! I have to check your other videos of the casting deck and trolling motor. Looks fun.
I just put a Johnston 30hp on my 12' flat bottom jon boat. I tried it once this past father's day at the river. I was too scared to turn it up pass a 1/8 throttle
I sure could use a good deal on a 15 horse like one of the ones in your videos. I'm on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi surrounded by water and I can't find a good motor for sale not for my price range anyway I just got a 14ft fiberglass Blazer Bay
I miscalculated distance the boat so pose to come to stop after throttle down, then I panicked and shift into reverse but the motor was not locked down and just lifted up out of the water and did not help to stop.
Im wondering why so many people think 35 mph is so fast?? To me going fast on the water is like 65mph or faster........ But i guess the more i think about it i think 35mph on a lil 1436... Or a lil 12ft jon boat is probably feelin pretty dam fast. But then again them bass boats be doin 70+ mph and over all are only a few ft bigger then a 1436.....
Cant say I wouldnt LOL seeing someone driving full speed head first into a bank. Especially since your voice carries over the water and it sounds like u are talking to yourself {recording}
just a scratch itll buff out, motor came up out of the water lol, the trolling motors feeling got hurt a bit but minnkota is tough ^^ stay safe bud I think weve all come into shore a lil hot :P
